Hey guys, is there any alternative to a Waterfield Sleeve case WITH a flap.

Looking for a sleeve that's protective with a bit of water-resistance so the Sleevecase seems to fit the bill, but it costs $90 shipped to Australia.

Any cheaper alternatives?

On 2nd note, I just received my Colcasac sleeve for 15' rMBP and idk if it was made poorly but its way too tight fitting and requires uncomfortable effort to push the laptop in or tug the laptop out. Doesn't even fully go in. Will be asking tomorrow.

If you really want a neoprene sleeve go for the second skin. I've owned both and the zipper of the Be.ez damages the laptop too easy. But I'd recommend to go for a proper leather sleeve instead. The neoprene sleeves are very flimsy and look cheap. :)

Just got this (booq mamba slim 13) in the mail yesterday after a TON of research. a little on the pricier side for this category of bags in my opinion but at the $80 its an awesome bag for the price! Plan on using to take all my stuff and laptop to and from school and work. so far so good. comes with a terralinq tag which if lost you can get in touch with the people that found it assuming they are feel charitable enough to return it to you. padding is very substantial to keep my macbook safe.

How are you finding it? Did you order it for the retina 13"?

I've just placed an order for the same, wondered if it would be a good fit for the retina mbp 13. Very nice looking bag.

Also, how long did it take to get delivered?

I've had a be.ez LA Robe for a while in almost daily use, but have not noticed any issues with the zipper. I don't quite see how you could damage the laptop with the zipper, there are even ridges on both sides right under the zipper when you close it, so it does not come in contact with the laptop at any point. Could be, that I've got a never, improved revision of the sleeve?

It's also not what I would call flimsy, but that's a matter of opinion of course :) Not the prettiest sleeve out there, I give you that, but it's protected my rMBP well for the last eight months, and still looks brand new (and cheap) :D

Picked up a Speck SeeThru Satin today for $20. I was planning on freeballing it but after a week of having my retina, paranoia started to set in..

Are you still rocking the Speck case? Just picked up a Incase Hardshell for the rMBP.

I´m currently using a Moshi iGlaze Pro on my 13" rMBP, but I need a sleeve that will hold the rMBP with the Moshi case on... Any ideas?

Anyone using the Booq Taipan S with a case?

Thanks :D

I have the Incase Neoprene sleeve and the rMBP fits well with the Speck smartshell and fitted well with the Moshi one.

Haha, Well I've used them a long time ago, maybe they changed them a bit over time. Switched to Foofbags when the first intel (Black) MacBook came out. But eventually switched to a Joliorignals sleeve when I got my first gen 11" MacBook air from my boss, when I upgraded my own 15" MBP last year I also bought one for that. Not cheap at all, but it looks really awesome :)

Anyone out there own a Booq Boa Squeeze?

I wanted to get this for my 15" MBP (with a view to upgrading to an rMBP): http://www.booqbags.com/us/backpacks/boa-squeeze/BSQ-GFT

I'm moving from one of these as it doesn't have enough compartments and is a little 'floppy': http://goincase.com/shop/incase-compact-backpack

Does anyone own one and could share their thoughts on this bag?

I'm going to hold my iPad, adapters, remote, some files, a book or two, biz cards a mouse etc.

If you have any thoughts fire it my way!!

I have the Booq Boa Squeeze, it's being used to carry my 2012 15" MacBook Pro w/retina. I've had a couple of Booq cases over the years, they are extremely well made, very durable, scratch and scuff resistant due to the excellent high quality materials. Much like my Crumplers, the Boa has supremely nice smooth zippers.

Very well thought out, the Boa Squeeze is compact in appearance yet rather cavernous in it's capacity. My 2010 15" MacBook Pro is a tight fit, but not overly so. Being thinner, my retina equipped MBP is a better fit. There's plenty of room for other essentials, and once loaded it's very well balanced.

About the only drawback is due to the shape it does not stand up, like a conventional back pack. I'm very adaptable, so it's of no concern. However if you routinely stand a back pack up and would miss that ability, it would be good to give that some serious consideration.

Of the various high quality backpacks, computer cases, and messenger bags I have, it's most definitely one of my favorites.

This is good to know, thanks - my bag now doesn't stand up so no biggie. I just want that space and the more compartments.
