I personally like the incase sleeves. They're simple and cheap and does the job! No need to spend $100+ on premium leather and wool, because that's going to help my protect my MacBook how??

I decided to get one yesterday from BB for $39.95, hoping that within the 30 day return/exchange policy incase will come out with a sleeve specific for the rMBP. The one below fits, but it's got a bit of slack. I needed one now, I've been paranoid since last week.

ehh, my thumb looks weird.

I personally have to second this opinion. My old incase has lasted 5 years (through college mind you, so frequent wear and tear), and only this month have I seen fraying.

I'm a Vatuka fan--I can vouch for their build quality and design--and I like the look of those faux-leather sleeves.

The only thing I would warn against with that model is that it's a bit older and doesn't have the "3D mesh" floor that the newer ones have. I'm no scientist, but at least on my machine that mesh really seems to help in terms of ventilation.

If you don't intend on doing any heavy-duty, CPU/GPU-intensive stuff while your rMBP is in its sleeve (i.e. gaming), I wouldn't worry about it. But it's something to consider.

Thanks a lot for useful advise!

Hey everyone, I was also hunting around for a sleeve for my brand new rMBP 15 - and was not happy with the Incase ones as they are far too baggy for my liking, it slides around too much.

After some hesitation, I ordered the Booq mamba sleeve and I am extremely glad I did. It fits really snug, and contrary to some reviews, my zippers do not come close to the edges of the macbook, there enough space to close the sleeve without the worry of scratching (even in a hurry).

I went with the grey color and love it.

have it too! just awesome slim and tight!

but one thing... if i open the sleeve, the zipper is sometimes scratching around the corners of my rmbp. i need to lift the zipper a little up, when im on the corners... maybe i need do tape the zipper with something smooth...

Why is everyone ignoring my question...?

Looks like nobody knows an answer :)

----------

I do like the style of these sleeves and "incase" models look acceptable for me.
But I'm a bit concerned if it be too bulky for retina MBP 13 ?

Has anyone used one of them with retina MBP 13 ?

I have always trusted Speck products. My original order on Amazon was the Speck black case. They were out of stock, So i went for the Speck clear plastic case. I am so glad i did.

smelly booq cases?

I read some kinda funny reviews on Amazon that said the Booq cases were great, but they smelled like gasoline. I thought it might have just been a couple isolated cases but a LOT of people were complaining about this pervasive smell that just wouldn't go away.

Are you guys with Booq sleeves experiencing any funkiness?

It's likely to be a loose fit. I don't have either of those, but I do have a 13" Neoprene Sleeve that fit my old MBP and is way too baggy for my new rMBP.

I have a Neoprene Slim Sleeve designed for the MBP and it too is too big. It's thinner and fits the rMBP better but still bigger than the actual laptop itself.

I bought this for my 15" rMBP. Its the HEX District case.

Its very attractive and the fit is super snug. The snug fit was something I've been looking for for a long time and this one really makes you feel like the laptop is secure inside.

It costs I think $50 bucks at the Apple Store but I bought it on eBay for $20.

After 2 weeks of trying it, I am returning the Moshi iGlaze cover for my 13 inch rMBP. It does fit loosely like others here say.

Were the "others" referring to the 13" version only? The reason I ask is because I have the 15" and the fit is perfect. I actually prefer it over the Speck due to having more clips or snap on points.

As far back as I've read this massive thread and recent reviews on Amazon, issue seems to be with the 13 inchers only. I won't be getting the Speck, reviews are none too flattering. The material and finish of the iGlaze is very good, but loose for the 13 inch unit.
