Guys, please, suggest any decent sleeve for macbook retina 13.
I have scratched my mind already while trying to find something suitable.
But almost all sleeves are for macbook pro (non retina).

There are already tons of options on this thread, but these three I'm not sure I've seen:

Targus Thin Canvas Case. I use it if I need to carry only my rMBP (no extra backpack or messenger). I have to admit that the bone one gets a bit dirty though.

Tucano Second Skin. I use it when I carry my rMBP inside a backpack or similar. It's super thin and lightweight, and it has instant access to your MagSafe power port... which you might or might not use.

Finally, this one was on my wishlist for extra protection (scratches mainly) and because I think it's pretty neat, until I got the Tucano:

Hope this helps ;)

For those still looking for a relatively slim sleeve for the 15" MBPr, I have now tried two cases.

The first is the Level8 15" WORLD Pro Super Sleeve for MacBook Pro/MacBook Pro with Retina Display
http://store.apple.com/us/product/H...=15inchmacbookproretinadisplay&fh=36c2%2B2c15
This case is clearly suited for the 15" MBPr, it fits perfectly. It's a different kind of sleeve than I'm used to because of the patterned interior, so that only a small amount of the interior is actually in contact with the case. The material inside isn't the softest, but I don't think it will scratch the computer. In addition, there is enough room, as well as some piping around the zipper, that makes me think the zipper won't scratch the computer. It seems well-made, but the seams aren't quite perfect (I'm being picky here), and the materials feel very utilitarian, not all that premium. The MBPr charger seems to fit in the front pocket, and it seems like it's not putting undue pressure on the computer itself in this configuration.

I also tried the Incase Protective Sleeve Deluxe (http://goincase.com/shop/incase-protective-sleeve-deluxe-for-macbook-pro-15). This case feels higher quality than the Level8 sleeve due to the materials used, the seams are all very well done, and the inside feels much softer and perhaps more scratch-proof. However, as I said previously, this one seems like it'd also fit the 15" classic MacBook Pro, so it's not super form-fitted (though much better than the Neoprene Sleeve, for example). Unfortunately the one I ended up with had a defective zipper on the front pocket, so that won't close.

I am going to stick with the Level8, mainly because it seems like it'll protect it about as well as the Incase, it seems to be a better fit, and the Incase I got had a defective zipper.

If anyone has questions about these two cases, I'm happy to answer!

Bought a Colcasac sleeve for my Haswell 13" rMBP earlier this month.

It's a great sleeve that
  • doesn't add much bulk
  • doesnt scratch your MacBook (look at all the soft fleece!) unlike hardcovers or some sleeves' zippers
  • is competitively priced
  • fits your MacBook really snugly (check out the pictures!)

Overall, i'm a really satisfied customer. Will highly recommend. :)

That sleeve would not look out of place next to a nice warm fireplace and a cup of hot cocoa...

Does it come in human size? ;)

I want more of a bag for the macbook that can also fit other things. It's expensive (and more for girls), but it goes on sale for black Friday. It has an inside zipper divider for a laptop and room on the sides for the charger and other things.

Hello guys & gals,

So I'm looking for a snug fitting sleeve for my new Late-2013 13" Macbook Pro Retina. I really liked this one when I had my Macbook Air http://goincase.com/shop/incase-neoprene-sleeve-for-macbook-air-13#color/14

I appreciated how there was no zipper and you just slid it in and pulled the case over the top, no scratching. Does anyone know of a similar case for the 13" Retina?

Thank you

And yes, I did use the almighty SEARCH before I posted this, couldn't find what I was looking for.

$5 CaseCrown Case from Amazon

here is the johnny Ive inside me. please read the following review with a british accent in your head lol.

The casecrown from amazon is unopolagetically beautiful. it is sleek with design yet mindful in taste. the ergonomics of the case are something that leaves your mind at peace whle your macbook stays protected.

the case can be had in 3 different colors. i chose the silver color as it brings a mordern and sleek look to an otherwise daily everyday case. the silver is by far my favorite color choice because of this brushed alluminium look the macbook not only wants but needs and deserves. people on campus who saw the case would not beleive it was $5 with free shipping on amazon. it really is no brainer .

paired with a purforated mesh plate that sits on the bottom of the clamshell its also very thoughtful in design . it lets your macbook breathe. it lets it has it 's space.

the case can strap on to all 4 corners of the macbook if you wish to use it in that clamshell mode. i would keep it that way if you are trying to use your macbook on the go such as a bus or train. otherwise i keep them unstrapped and just carry the macbook inside the case...strapless.

whats beautiful is as i type this out the front cover is standing up with no strap. most lips would fall flat but this one is sticking on to the back of my macbook and nothing is holding it in place besides the back of my macbook. perfect could not come any closer to the hindges and design of this case.

my macbook has a rubberized hard casei use when at home so idont bumb into a door or desk it with. and it fits snuggly into the casecrown case. if you gave me $5 to use on anything in the world , a million times over i would use it on this case. the hard plastic with the brushed alluminim design is just something you will nejoy carrying as the case adds only a few more kg of weight to the total product. it is in fact still lighter than the clasic 15in macbook and i coudlnt be happier with my hard case + casecrown carrying sleeve combo. thank you for reading this :]

Thanks for that, iseph!

Can you tell us if the cushion/padding is memory foam? And does the zipper/lip of the case allow for access to the MBP's ports?

Looks like a hell of a bargain in any case, assuming the protection it provides is adequate. (Obviously this is somewhat less of a consideration for you as you already use a hard shell on your MBP...)

my hard shell does not block any ports or microphone i checked the model number when purchasing from ebay to make sure its the haswell retina . anyway the actual case has 2 zippers that can go either way and open a hole of any size if thats what your asking. i can open a hole big enough to put the charger or attack a usb device on it. the top of the case is cloth and the bottom is purforated mesh. it lets the air from the macbook dissipate into it, its actually really cool.

i use a hardshell for home and office and the case for light travel. i ordered a real messanger bag BOOQ for stlyish travel

Gotcha. Mine has the perforated mesh as well and it really does seem to help it stay cool.

Anyway, sounds like the CaseCrown is a really good complement to the hard shell. Can't exactly go too wrong for five bucks...!

Colcasac does custom sizes IIRC, contact them for a quote. I'm sure some folks in Wisconsin would buy that hahahahaa

Incase Sleeves, STM Slim, or Other?

I think I have narrowed my search down to the Incase Sling Sleeve Deluxe, Incase City Brief or the STM Slim Shoulder Bag.

As you can see from my examples, I am basically looking for a sleeve with some additional pockets/organization and a shoulder strap. The two Incase sleeves appear to be very similar with the exception of "style". The STM bag is similar to the Incase sleeves, may not look as nice, but does have an extra slash/document pocket on the back.

I'm currently leaning towards one of the Incase since I can get it 50% off with a coupon code, but was wondering if there are other similar options out there that I am missing.

I know everyone does this, but...

I'm looking for a sleeve for a 15" MBPr. Not a bag (I have a large leather bag for all my work stuff), not a case (don't want to enclose it), just a bag to tote it around casually.

I saw one at an Apple store "satellite" I guess that had a little hand strap in it by Belvedere(?) that seemed rad, but at $40 I'm pretty sure there's better options.

Loved this. Already have a sleeve for my rMBP but I am in love. I found it on eBay way cheaper than on the official website. Any idea if it is a fake?

Need a sleeve for a rMBP 13. I prefer no zipper.

If there isn't any, anyone have bad experiences with zippers on MacBooks? I'm afraid it will scratch up my machine.

10 quid for it? seems too good to be true.

the cheapest design goes for US$45 before discount, so this is probably either used or a chinese knockoff of some sort

or maybe i just don't trust eBay

:(
It's not 10 quid but it's not much more either. When you select the sleeve, you'll see the actual price. I think that it's 15 quid or something.

I think I'll go for it anyway.. the guy has lots of points and not a single negative one for selling counterfeit Colcasac sleeves. If it's not real, then screw it.. I'm not buying it right now but, when I do, I'll post pics.

Ugh, kind of a nightmare finding a sleeve for my month old rMBP 13. I want one that fits exactly. I bought a CaseLogic sleeve from Amazon only to find that it was WAY too big. I should have realized because it said it was for the MBP 13, but it also said that it fits the MBA 13 which has larger dimensions. Turns out it was actually a generic 13" notebook sleeve so they gave it very generous dimensions.

But I'm finding this to be the case for a LOT of sleeves - they all say they fit both the MBA 13 and the MBA 13. Which I don't understand because the dimensions are quite different. I was about to spring for the Booq Viper until I saw that it fits both the MBA and MBP 13. Which means there's going to be excess room with the MBP13. Are there any sleeves out that fit ONLY the 2013 rMBP 13?

BOOQ Strap durability

Has anyone had any bad experiences with straps breaking on the booq bags?

I have a booq Mamba Slim 13", and its a GREAT, beautiful, padded, water resistant, etc. Could not fault it so far.. However, I cant help but be paranoid using the shoulder strap sometimes. I've heard horror stories from people who have had their bag strap break causing the macbook to crash into the floor. Most probably due to using cheap bags I suppose.

I dont doubt booq's quality, but still. Thoughts?

Not a big fan of the hard cases. I just dont like the idea of an aluminum computer that can generate a lot of heat be covered(not fully I understand) by a plastic cover. My old incase for my 2008 macbook pro may me a little too roomy for my new retina display mbp.

Ended up getting the Uintah Colcasac 15" retina display model.

Should work great for me.
