What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

I'm not the biggest fan of the new design. I don't mind the thickness, but it looks a bit dated. It reminds me of the older 2007 MBPs. I'm also not sure about how I feel about the all-black keyboard area and the feet.

My order is in. 14" Silver. 32GB of RAM seemed to be what pushed it out of the last week of October into the first week of Nov for me.

Going to have to say that the design sure does bring back some memories of the plastic MB. lol I don't plan on upgrading mine this time around.

When would the MacBooks be available on Best Buy typically? I have a lot of rewards I’d like to use.

How do you apply it before ordering? I think (hope) I was in educational pricing.
You go to the education store before purchasing it.

Ordered mine - replacing a 2018 15” MBP for med school, research and beyond. The 32GB config pushed it out a week.
Would’ve gone for the Max but it pushes the shipping date out to December!
I’ll really miss the TouchBar, but the design reminds me of the Al PowerBook G4, my absolutely favorite Mac design...

Totally forgot about the education discount. Canceled my order and placed a new one to save $150. Still have delivery set for next Tuesday!!

I ordered the base model 14-inch and it will arrive between 10/29 and 11/3. I debated a lot about the RAM upgrade, but $400 just felt too much to pay for 16GB of RAM. I also debated about adding a 1TB SSD but decided to stick to the base storage as well.

This is the first time I've ever ordered the base model of a Mac. I'll be coming from a 1TB/16GB M1 MBP, which has been awesome for my use. Looking forward to the 14-inch and am totally fine with base specs except for the RAM. I'll see how it performs.

Was waffling back and forth, but ended up with: 14" M1 Pro (10-core / 16-core), with 32GB / 1TB. Was $2899 in the end, which is just $200 less than the 16" with same config ($3099) in the US. End of the day, decided to stick to my guns as I think portability of the 14" worth more to me than larger screen size of the 16". But I was tempted...

Got Nov 5 - Nov 10 delivery estimate. Agree with others, really wish I could've gotten Apple Store pickup, as I've usually done!

Settled on the Mid-range 16in M1 Pro. I almost ordered the M1 Max but like I don't think I will ever need those specs, that's more of a want than a need for my line of work. Super excited for next week!

Just checking back in now after all of the excitement.
  • Lol, it has a notch. I think that part looks fine.
  • Really interesting design. Surprised it looks so THICK. And boy that new 16” is heavy.
  • SO FREAKING HAPPY IT HAS PROMOTION
  • Incredible performance and battery life
Very, very pleased aside from the weight gain. Still haven’t looked at footprint yet. Has everything I could’ve wanted. Got in an order for a 14” (arrives 10/26) and a 16” (arrives Nov 3-5).

I was a little slow on the draw deciding on options but I can wait a couple weeks. Any tier of these are going to be just stupid fast, can’t imagine anyone being disappointed in the performance even on the base spec. Apple Silicon is the real deal. My desktop PC is a heavily overclocked and watercooled 9900K+3090+32GB RAM and this should spank it on anything except super duper GPU heavy workloads (ie videogames) while using a fraction of the power. And also it’s not a giant 50lb unmovable box.
