I've found two annoying bugs in Preview

1. You can not look up words in the dictionary by using the keyboard shortcut "ctrl + cmd + d" or tap with three fingers on the trackpad. It works fine in all other programs.

2. text-to-speech is unable to read word in a pdf containing "fi", it divides word into two parts. Ex. the word "finished" reads "fi" - "nished". And also when you double tap the word, highlights only one part of the word.
I've tried Adobe Acrobat and here it works fine.

I have made a 100% clean install of MacOS 10.12 with Preview 9.0 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

10.1.2 beta 2 seems to have a new and nasty bug. Sometimes, certain keys still suddenly stop working or will map to the wrong one. I've found that in general:

- The "a" key will suddenly become unresponsive.
- The "I" and "g" keys become swapped.
- The behavior exists for both my Apple wireless bluetooth keyboard and an external USB one.
- Opening the keyboard viewer was the only way to work around this.
- Resetting all keyboard shortcuts in keyboard settings didn't fix it.

Experienced similar problem with 10.12.1 beta 2, except it only affected my USB keyboard, not my apple bluetooth keyboard.

Has anyone seen if this bug persists in beta 3?

Edit: Just updated to beta 3 from a fresh install of 10.12.0 and the bug is still there :/

I have tried to use two Mac Apps, Brackets and VLC, but both crash. (See Internal Error picture for Brackets below). Both apps have the same message but for VLC replace Brackets with VLC.

Screen Shot 2016-10-06 at 1.49.50 PM.png

I try clicking on every button on the window, but they do not do anything. This has never happened on my Macbook, especially with Mac OS X El Capitan. I just want to find out what I need to do. Do I need to reinstall Mac Os Sierra? Do I need to downgrade to Os X El Capitan? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I found out why it was being caused by the error, it was because my Mac needed to update to the next beta. Now the two apps mentioned before work now.

Wifi connection problems after I wake from sleep, have to off/on Wifi in the menu bar. In previous releases, I haven’t had any noticeable Wifi issues that many are constantly plagued with. Now with this release, this happens semi-frequently. From a minute ago:

Could this be a Safari issue? I feel like Chrome or some browser besides Safari would work.

Possibly, I haven’t experimented by trying to open Chrome/Firefox but I will the next time the issue occurs and see if it’s only affecting Safari. I have a Safari-only issue screen glitch, where the top area of the Safari window spazzes near-constantly. It isn’t affecting Chrome/Firefox. Earlier tonight I recorded another clip not in the link:

This is good new: A bug fix. The latest iTunes in Sierra seems to once again work with Coversutra, an app that has not been updated in years but which offers some pretty unique functionality to quickly search your library with a keyboard shortcut. I know the developer shut down her site when she was hired by Apple, so I would not be surprised if she had a talk with some of the engineers who work on iTunes to get some incompatibility sorted out. At least, that's what I'd like to beleive. :p

My problems with Sierra are minor inconveniences:
- All the devices are missing from the Sidebar in Finder, I can't get them back. Luckily they are on my desktop.
- My MacBook Pro runs hot. 65-70 is BAU now. I remember back on Mavericks it ran at 35-40 and with each release it gets hotter and hotter.
- Sometimes, when I take my MPB out of clamshell mode, the display doesn't re-activate. I have to plug in my external display and remove it again as a work around.
- For the first two weeks my BlueTooth trackpad (1st Gen) would constantly disconnect (e.g. every 30 seconds). Very frustrating, especially since I mainly run my Mac in clamshell mode. Somehow this has resolved itself and is no longer occurring. (Knock on wood).

FWIW: Apple is recommending pro app users turn off "Optimize Storage" or avoid using this major new macOS feature. See here

Noticing a bug in Safari when I try to change my preferences to 'New tabs open with:' blank, it won't let me chose anything else but favorites. Same with 'New windows open with:'

Anyone else experiencing this? Very annoying because I used to be able to open new tabs and start typing immediately, and now I have to click my cursor into the URL field.

No, it works for me. I just checked and it was opening new tabs in my homepage, so I changed it to blank as I also like to be able to just start typing into the URL field. I was able to choose any of the options.

The trash sound has disappeared since I updated to MacOS Sierra 10.12! It's not a huge major issue but it still requires fixing!!!

This is a bug. I had the problem with my initial installation of Sierra (among other problems). After re-installation the problem was gone, I had the sound back for trashing files. Then after a reboot the sound was GONE again. Trashing user and system preferences did not bring it back.

Sierra 10.12.0 has a lot of problems. I've reported two bugs so far, but not yet the trash sound.

Anyone else having issues with Bluthooth on this latest build. It appears only my first device will connect and pair. i.e. mouse but no keyboard.

My Apple trackpad sometimes takes a few attempts to connect, but this was never an issue previously. Battery level is fine. My Logitech BT keyboard connects first time, every tine.

New public beta 4 still didn't fix the keyboard issue with the A key and H/I keys. Not even removing all the preferences in ~/Library/Preferences works.

Strangely, it only affects my user account. New user accounts as well as single-user mode and the login screen work fine.

A fix seems to be available here:

https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/64304

It involves disabling SIP to replace a plugin with one from an earlier build..

I've noticed that the first authentication fails for screen sharing. I get the shake on the connect dialog and if I hit connect again it logs me in just fine. Macbook Pro -> iMac at home.
