Thanks. Yes I can but be careful of the following:
"If you sign out of iCloud in iCloud preferences, your documents and data stored in iCloud are removed from your Mac. Your bookmarks and Reading List remain in Safari, but the iCloud Tabs list of webpages open on your other devices is no longer available."
Make sure, therefore, that you make a copy of Documents first.

The problem I have (having done this) is that the Documents folder disappears from the Finder sidebar and I have yet to discover how to restore it.

Yep, so you want to disable that option in your cloud settings (make sure you have them backed up somewhere else before you turn it off) :) (also may want to disable the optimize mac storage option, so everything is local)

Many thanks. Any files and data I want in the cloud I use Dropbox. For Photos I use Google Photos.

Just navigate to your user folder in Finder (you can just do Go, Go To Folder and put in the tilde ~ character to get there)
Create a Documents folder in your user folder and drag it under the Favorites list in the left pane in Finder (I also do that for my base drive folder).

I can't tell you how to get your data back, but as far as getting the Documents folder back into your sidebar, just drag it there . . . or am I misunderstanding what you are saying or asking to do?

Here are the bugs I've found so far. Pretty bad release IMH - and issues that happened basically on all major releases before. Displays and volume mapping, what a drama.

1) External display resolution goes nuts. Sometimes I get the resolutions I want, sometimes not. Using Dell P2715Q. Restarting helps, but usually after a sleep, the resolution reverts. Reported my numerous other users as well.
2) Weirdo mapping of NAS volumes. Either I have to reconfirm the username or password (and "store it in keychain" each and every time), or "netauthsysagent wants to user my keychain" and have to enter password.
3) Unknown load on system, making system very slow and blowing the fan like mad.

… panics … Not sure how to fix this. …

Troubleshooting: getting more from kernel panics with keepsyms (address to symbol translation)

tell application "Finder"
try
mount volume
"afp://username@password@192.168.10.12:548/XBMC/"

AFP is quite outdated.

Try SMB.

… I was unaware that it put all my Documents and Desktop into iCloud. …

It does not, unless you ask it to. Be aware of the option.

Whoah! That's a scary thought!

Is anyone else having problems with their trackpad?

I am. I came here to find out if it's a known issue. I have a Magic Trackpad (1) that I use when I have my MacBook Pro running on an external display in clamshell mode, which is about 95% of my usage. Since upgrading to Sierra, it takes a solid 45 - 90 seconds for it to reconnect every time I wake up my Mac. I find I have to keep clicking for it to connect. I watch the BlueTooth icon in the toolbar and it keeps changing from disconnected to connected at high sped.

On El Capitan it was instant and had no problems.

Is this similar to what you're experiencing?

Updated my MacBook 13' Retina 2015 to Sierra yesterday and have had screen issues since then. Portions of the screen would have defects (vivid stripes and spots appear on random places on screen) when the computer wakes up from sleep. Less than a minute later it goes back to normal by itself! I have never had screen problems with Yosemite and El-Capitan. Screen resolution is scaled for maximum space if relevant. Any thoughts?

Doesn't matter. SMB also gives NAS login issues. Funny thing is I have two QNAP NAS drives both running QTS 4.2.0 (latest build).

One runs SMB 3.0 and Sierra shows the login prompt, while the other runs an older version of SAMBA and Sierra doesn't show the login prompt. I have tried to force a lower SMB version for the first one (2.0, 2.1), but it doesn't help.

There's something different between the two. Maybe it's time out related. The first one is a RAID5 NAS, while the other is single disk. I've seen an issue with 10.11 such that the RAID5 one doesn't connect at login.

So nothing of that on Sierra, except for the silly login prompt.

Is anyone else having problems with their trackpad?

I noted that my trackpad on MBP mid 2012 is not as precise as it was... (especially while dragging things in Photoshop)
[doublepost=1474819786][/doublepost]The problem I have since updating to Sierra is that I lost the external display!! I have a MBP mid 2012 which I connect to it an external display via a thunderbolt to display port cable. Since my MBP has a dedicated video card (GeForce 650M) I can get a 2560 x 1440 picture.

However after updating to Sierra... the display says 'No Signal'. The only fix I found is to turn off the MBP... hook up the display, and power up... all works fine. BUT if the laptop goes to sleep, upon waking up 'No Signal' :(

Did not replace the cable, but I hooked up a Win PC via the display port to check if there are any issues with it... and it works fine.

Also thunder bolt to VGA works, thunderbolt to hdmi works as well...

There is a very frustrating bug that causes notifications to reappear after being dismissed from Notification Center. Specifically, there is a birthday reminder/notification from Calendar and a reminder from Reminders (very lackluster compatibility with iOS). I ended up deleting the reminder rather than snoozing it because I just didn't want to be bothered with it anymore.

Yes but this will zoom all the things in your webpage (images, menus, etc...) so the terminal command is the best way to enable the minimum font size again. I really can't understand why apple has removed it....someone know?
I think you should give it a try. It doesn't do what you say. The entire page is re-formatted each time you hit the big A. Nothing is lost on the page, unless I'm not seeing it correctly but when I do it, the entire page is retained. EDIT: (well it seems to work that way for several clicks but depending on the page it does zoom past menus eventually. However, some pages do retain their exact width. At least some of the ones I used it on.)

When watching Netflix at fullscreen, sometimes the effect of switching through full-screen apps is seen, but using frames of the Netflix show I'm watching. It's like it's swiping to the right, three or four times. It's kinda hard to explain.

The AA button zooms everything in the page, also the image... the "defaults write" via terminal will change only the minium font size!

My rMBP 15" Late 2013 disconnects all network connections when it enters the sleep mode, but the laptop stays hot, and is not really sleeping. So I have to turn it off for a night, or let it warm my apartment.

This came with Sierra.

Messages has been listed under apps using significant energy, something that hasn't happened until now. The Energy Impact has went up over 100.0 before, the screenshot shows what it was at when I was typing this. Maybe/maybe not related but iOS10 on my iPhone 6s also takes a battery hit when using the new iMessages.

Any suggestions? Found nothing about this online. Can't only be me. :(

I've noticed the same thing on my iPhone 5S. I can't say the same for my MacBook Air, but that's because I don't use iMessage that often on my laptop.

I don't tend to know sh*t about stuff like this, but all those animations, gifs, keyboard game apps, etc can't help.

Nobody caught this change!

Download Folder
Date Added:
All files have the TRANSFER DATE & TIME.
They no longer keep the original Date & Time Modified and Created.

If you move any to the Documents Folder, they are OK.

Apple has changed the RULE.
I Hope somebody can come up with a Terminal command to correct.

Ahh, so it's not only the Energy going up it's also CPU% going up over 100.0...I noticed the fans running loud and just checked it out. Great Apple, thanks for the bug. It happened while I was sending links to a webpage to someone...it seems messages overloads when sending any kind of link or video where it has to produce a preview in the messages window. This sucks.

Why can't Apple fix the GPT (GUID Partition Table) incompatbility issues with MS Windows ?

When:

- You format as GPT + exFAT on macOS : Windows sees the drive as not formatted.
- You format as MBR + exFAT on macOS : all is ok
- You format as GPT + exFAT on Windows : macOS sees two partitions, a small one and a big one. When you write files on Windows, the file ends up in the smaller one.

Solution is to stick to the good old MBR, but it has been like this for years. macOS Sierra didn't change anything.
