Yeah I'm wondering what iMacs dosdude was able to get Mojave on. Since I did read somewhere newer ones were still not working.
Some 2009-2011 iMac's if memory serves me right, although I had no success with either 2010 or 2011, reasonably certain it's at my end. I will keep trying...

EDIT: I'm not wondering what Apple Supports, I'm wondering what Dosdude1's Patches support.
In that case I'd go back & look at previous posts. Did you look at page 1?

Tried a b8 install on a 27" iMac 2009 (core i7, 16 GB RAM, SSD, HD4870 GPU).
It booted and progressed to about 17 minutes from end and then KPed (this happened twice). I could not save the installer log but here is a picture of the end of the log.

Are you doing a clean install? It seems there is some issue causing these errors when installing overtop another copy of macOS.

Curiosity sake did you "clean" install or install over previous sys? Only reason I ask is that's what I got installing over previous HS. Install clean I didn't get that

Just saying thank you to whoever started adding some credits on the OP, I really appreciate it and I think credit should always be given where due :)

I believe some other names, like @Czo, @parrotgeek1, and probably others, should still be added to the list.
I share your sentiment too and will take it even further by asking all those that have benefited from this and other threads to show their appreciation by donating to the main contributors, if they are able to, as running Mojave on unsupported machines with confirmed NVMe/APFS boot capabilities (for certain models) would not have been possible without their valuable contributions, period.

It was over a previous 10.13.6 install.

I'm just recovering from a TM backup and then I'll try a clean install after I know my TMs are good!

I really like the progress that has been made here. It is moving fast. Kudos to all those involved.

Btw that movie was filmed here in Charlotte, NC
[doublepost=1531541680][/doublepost]For awhile I was able to get 4k video on the 8800GT card with an old DVI-D to display port adapter. Was really nice. Only 30Hz and 2x scaling, but it was nice to see accelerated video at 4k on Mohave.

But when I unplugged it, it stopped working; something must have fried inside. Not a huge loss as the part was free.

So in the meantime I am using my 2100FP Dell with the 8800GT card and will use my Titan X on my 4k display when Mojave hits GM.
[doublepost=1531541955][/doublepost]It’s great we can blend old and new technology together. Beats buying a gigawatt 2018 MacBook Pro. Just for fun go to Apple’s website and pick the 15 inch MBP and add on every bell and whistle. You may not believe what Apple is trying to sell to the high end crowd or to those who can dump a crap load of cash on a laptop.

OP says its unsupported..... I don't think it has been updated.

Early 2009 iMac 9,1 with a 3.06ghz C2D and Radeon 4850 HD -- full acceleration, but tons of horizontal lines whenever I do anything -- Guess I'm having to go back to High Sierra.

Horizontal lines? That's a new one... Can you post a picture?

Legacy AMD acceleration ACHIEVED!

View attachment 770376

Thanks for all your work on this so far. I have a 24" early 2008 as well. Acceleration works, but I'm noticing some odd issues. Detected video memory is 8MB (this doesn't seem to affect anything as far as I can tell), it doesn't appear to recognize my iMac's display properly either. Backlight patch is installed, but I have no backlight controls, and the display won't sleep, neither will the entire machine. Any kexts that could be missing from the patcher maybe?

I already shut it down for the weekend (I'm leaving), but here's a still from a video I sent my friend, showing a YouTube video (which counts as motion).

I immediately loaded up my Snow Leopard disc, to verify there are no GPU issues.

iMac 7,1 with upgraded T9500 processor booting, but can't get the "Volume Control Patch" (or volume control) working after trying several times using the patched install stick. Any way to force it? Also thanks @dosdude1 and the rest for all the hard work on this!

If you come up with a patch for me to test in the next few hours I'll be happy to test it, I am not planning to look at this until I come back from my weekend trip however.

I hope it's some silly oversight for my machine combination. Love all the work you do dosdude1.

I had this problem on my 2008. Had to manually copy the kexts from the High Sierra version of the patch, and that worked.

Edit: This would be AppleHDA.kext and IOAudioFamily.kext from El Capitan, to be specific. Those worked on High Sierra, and appear to work fine on Mojave as well.

Same issues, 24" mid 2007 with upgraded processor

I see "AMDLegacySupport.kext" in the post install app, but it's missing from it's installer script. Going to try putting this in /S/L/E manually and see if this fixes it.

Edit: this causes a panic when the window server loads. Hmm.

I dont know, it should be disable or enable to install? Sorry newbie

If you’re doing any kind of modifications then you have it disabled. I have it disabled all the time because it just gets in my way when I want to modify my system. If you do an NVRAM/PRAM reset then you need to disable it again. These commands must be run from recovery or single user mode.

Code:
Enable: csrutil enable
Disable: csrutil disable
Check status: csrutil status
