If you can reproduce this and your machine doesn’t have any graphics card issues then this might be a useful bug for us.
[doublepost=1533543159][/doublepost]I have the same machine as you. If you can reproduce it then I can probably do so as well.

Hmmm- maybe we age just looking at bugs for 10.14 beta. I will keep a close eye on reproducibility

After updating to Mojave on my mid 2012 MacBook Pro- look what we have here. After a restart it went back to normal look though. Anyone else experienced this?

Edit: Spelling fix and serial number

Hmmm... maybe on Golden Master release they will make a gift in "light mode", rewriting part of WindowServer coding who knows.

Well there is gonna be a new beta in a week and perhaps this is actually just a Mojave bug but it’s was more common on unsupported devices which means that Apple might fix it.

God I hope so

I put beta on tomorrow actually. They changed their schedule to Monday’s, iOS 11 is done (thankfully) so yeah! Tomorrow beta?

If I'm not mistaken, are you waiting the APFS ROM patcher update only for your MBA 2,1?

Do you remember if when replaced your EFI CHIP it was a "WinBond" or "Macronix MX"?

And I turn the question over to @dosdude1 if I write the original binary EFI ROM file into a QFN WinBond chip, it will work on a machine with a previous QFN MX chip ?
(I meant only with stock EFI ROM without any following APFS ROM patching)
Yes, you read right between the lines ;-)
In my MBA 2,1 it was a Macronix/MX chip. Have no clue of what vendor was behind my replacement 820-2375-A though... but it works again (for the moment - until next attempt to ROMmify it with the next version of @dosdude1 ´s tool).

The task would be bold: Just "hacking" the metal framework will not do, one would have to re-write it and implement all API function calls. I´m not even sure if some more advanced hw-related functions would still have to be emulated in software.

I think I've been misunderstood.

My question is how much different is, say an HD6970m from a metal supported AMD card? Can't we just fake the HD6970 ID so that Metal thinks it's a supported one?

That won't work, HD6970 is the last of TeraScale architecture and HD7xxx are GCN1.x cards. Hardware changed totally between generations, TeraScale cards are RISC SIMD and support DX11, GCN1.x are VLIW SIMD and support DX12.

I cant update anything on my Late 2008 MBP through the patch updater. It keeps giving me the same error. Has anyone run across this as well?
You have the old, broken version of Patch Updater installed. Just download and run this script to fix it.

Oh. Btw remove that picture right now reupload it with a censored serial number.
Why? There is no reason to worry about your serial number being visible. Nobody can do anything with it. I post pictures of my machines with serial number included all the time.

Well idk tbh, I've just been told to do so before so I passed on the knowledge.

DP6 has been released. Now I just gotta wait for it to show up in System Update .:apple:

Cool. I was wondering if they’d switch to a one week release schedule today.
[doublepost=1533575809][/doublepost]macOS 10.14 Mojave Developer Preview 6 had been released with build number 18A353d.
[doublepost=1533575894][/doublepost]@dosdude1 The patcher will need any update for beta 6 I assume?

More than likely, I'm about to check once the download finishes.

Im downloading DP6 on my iMac 9,1 3.36 GB :)
[doublepost=1533577469][/doublepost]
I’m downloading as well.
[doublepost=1533576232][/doublepost]It’s slow because of the amount of people trying to download it at once.
mine is installing now took less than 10 minutes to download :)

I’m downloading the installer, not the update.
[doublepost=1533578146][/doublepost]@dosdude1 The current version of the Mojave Patcher downloaded High Sierra for me instead of beta 6.

It is interesting, so even on supported mid 2012 mbp grey status bar and finder bar are present, though quite rarely.
Let's hope this is just beta version bug (such as font smoothing but which is present on retinas as well), or someone could solve this issue!

I know, you did it before I had a chance to update the download key. Try again.
