I think so as well but I actually don't know if anyone ever tried to do that, considering how "old" that feature is and that its use is probably not so widespread (anymore?).

Just to let you know: if you try to trigger Target Display Mode on Mojave, the iMac screen goes black for a second and then the desktop of the OS appears again, while on High Sierra the GPU switches to the video input, showing the desktop of the other Mac/PC connected.

Probably it's fixable on Mojave, I don't know how, but at the moment I think having a small HighSierra (or previous slim OSX) partition for that purpose is a good solution.

[doublepost=1539205029][/doublepost]Anybody else getting a warning in Safari when you go to this specific thread on MacRumors? It almost looks like Apple is finally making an attempt to interfere.

View attachment 793853

No other MacRumors forum thread show such a message...

With all the random scripts that people post here, it is not unexpected that some of them could be harmful. That's why I suggested that @dosdude1 should consider open sourcing the patches to be peer reviewed by the community.

The danger of using these patches and scripts is real. You are literally installing what you do not know would do to your data using your admin password from unknown people.

If you tried everything for 32 bit apps issue, before reinstall, try to unpatch this https://github.com/julian-poidevin/MBPMid2010_GPUFix

I mean use the stock AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext from Mojave, that should deals with your sleeping 32bit apps on dock, I guess. I know you used on HS, but Mojave could be different.

What do you mean by using the stock AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext from Mojave? How can that be done, and wouldn't that make the GPU kernel panic back?

I can assure you that none of the files uploaded by @dosdude1 are malicious, and if he wants to open source his code then he can, if not, then that’s his decision.

Scripts are open source by definition, they're just text files. Look at it before you run it.

All the patches (legacy video patch, legacy audio patch, etc) are documented. I don't use dosdude1's patcher. I do it by hand. If you don't trust the patcher, you can do the same.

Yeah, I think you're right... the patch is necessary to prevent a crash (without dosdude1's hardware fix, which is not easy for your average person). But I don't think that's the cause of the 32-bit trouble anyways.

Ah you have a Macbook pro 15" 2010 with i5/i7 cpu and dual graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M / Intel HD Arrandale, I didn't know that mac, so I don't know the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext behavior if it saves sleep function of which one of yours two GPUs. If anything check if that kext is loaded in safe mode.

However if that patch you use disables the Nvidia functions and make primary your Intel HD Arrandale, try to use the Arrandela Intel HD 10.12 Sierra kext, this was a @Badruzeus hint: Intel HD 2000 Arrandale

Intel HD 2000 kexts

Anyway ask to him better details.

It's not about trusting @dosdude1, he has been around for a long time with an excellent reputation. It's about simple security.

If there are a few 100,000 users out there using his patch, then dosdude1's domain is a big security target. It only takes one security breach to upload malware to his domain or change the links in the documentations to the wrong binaries, and everyone is infected.

Inspect the file before running it then.

Still having random issues with this thread, I can view then when trying to refresh I get an error, seems to be no rhyme or reason aside from possible malware which I believe was not correct as @dosdude1 removed said file. Doesn't seem to limited to a specific browser.
The fact that there is any question about @dosedude1 agenda or integrity is beyond ridiculous.

@lukiy, understand your concerns, however all you've done is regurgitate the same "warning", perhaps you should look at starting your own thread & voice your concerns there as it seems to be counterproductive here.

I have a MacPro 4,1 that shows it is a 5,1 system that I updated to High Sierra with DOSDUDE's patch software. Mojave updated automatically without having to create the patched drive. The only thing not working is wireless. My AirPort is not seen in the Hardware report. Is there anything that I can do to get AirPort working again? I created the patched Mojave drive, but it says that I do not need it and is not recognized as a bootable drive. I have successfully used it on a MacBook Pro 2009.

Missing Bluetooth Preferences

I updated my early 2008 iMac 8,1 to Mojave and that is super exciting! Thank you everyone for all your wonderful work!

Unfortunately, now my Bluetooth Preferences are missing under System Preferences. My Apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse work (sorta) but they are not functioning properly. The keyboards Function buttons don't work and my Magic Mouse is unable to scroll and is identified as a regular mouse.

What I've tried so far:
- re-installing the Post Install Patches and rebuilt caches numerous times to no avail.
- tried @jackluke 's suggestion on a prior post to a different user and reinstalled Mojave's GM bluetooth kernels and that didn't work either.
- deleted the bluetooth plist files from the system and user folders and rebooted but that didn't work either.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on what else I can try to restore my Bluetooth Preferences and functionality?

Just on a note, I did upgrade and replace my Wireless Airport Card Replacement with a new 802.11ac
AirPort Extreme card (0x14E4, 0x112) 6 months ago but everything was working properly under El Capitan prior to installing Mojave, of which I did a clean install. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Did you uncheck any Wifi/BT patches if they were checked?

I have a MacPro 3,1 (Early 2008) and I have installed a copy of Mojave on a USB flash drive for testing. I've noticed that while booting or running Mojave, my computer's fans are always running full-tilt. When I reboot into High Sierra, the fan speed is based on CPU load. Any idea how to fix this?

I tried using smcFanControl to change the fan RPMS, but it didn't work. Does anyone have any other ideas?

There was a link to an IP address download that looked suspicious on page 3 of the thread. I’ve removed it and am submitting it back to google to remove from this database.
Unfortunately I found the issue. @dosdude1's site seems to be flagged by google. I had to remove his links in the meanwhile. We are getting dinged just by linking to his site.

Enter that site in here "dosdude1 dot com", and you'll see it.

https://transparencyreport.google.com/safe-browsing/search

Strange, even though dosdude1's site is no longer flagged as dangerous, this thread still is.

Mojave beta (18A314K) gives me correct colours but Mojave (18A391) gives me colours inversion on my 21.5 inch iMac 12,1.
Is it possible to extract the video drivers from the beta installer and insert them into the Mojave installer?

What's your Airport Extreme id : (0x14E4, 0x????)

from Terminal:
system_profiler SPAirPortDataType
system_profiler SPBluetoothDataType

18A314K was Mojave beta 2, do you have video acceleration and transparent dock on it ?

What's your AMD/ATI id (vendor, device, revision) in "system profiler" from 18A314k (not 18A391) ?

From Terminal: system_profiler SPDisplaysDataType

Otherwise, if on your 18A314K you don't have acceleration and transparencies, then simply boot from 18A391 open Terminal and copy/paste this in one line:

sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonX3000.kext /System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonX3000.kext2

reboot and you will have normal RGB and no windows trails, but no video acceleration.

I haven't changed acceleration or dock transparency.
I'll reboot into Mojave beta and get back to you asap.

Does anyone know how to write back modified resources to a .car file? ThemeEngine doesn't work for me. I can extract the resources but can't copy them back into the .car file...
ThemeEngine exports modified .car files for me. Do you have a working build for Mojave? I just rebuilt one if you need it.

Yes, I certainly am too, starting this morning. Don't think it has anything to do with Apple, though. Safari (and most other browsers) use Google Safe Browsing data to block fraudulent web sites, so I'd blame Google. It could be that Google has identified the download links to macOS Mojave Patcher as potentially dangerous.

This is beyond annoying 'cause, even if you click on the link in the warning to proceed to the web page, you can't do anything once you get here (like refresh the page or click on a link to another page in the thread) without getting the damn warning page blocking your access again! The only solution, for now, is to go into Safari Preferences' Security tab and uncheck the Fraudulent Sites option.

Just discovered that myself trying to get back here. Sure would be nice if Safari had a whitelist option.
[doublepost=1539356776][/doublepost]After confirming Mojave was not great on the 12,1 with the Radeon card (but still pretty usable with the weird inverted colors and all), I installed this on a test drive on my 5,3 MBP. Couldn't find any issues, WiFi works, iSight works (once I removed the electrical tape), and I appear to have full acceleration on the Nvidia card. Liked it so much I went ahead and did an in-place upgrade on my working drive.

I haven't tested everything yet, and fully expect to have hiccups with FCPX et. al. but it's been great so far. Had to turn off fraudulent sites protection in Safari to get here, but I like living on the edge...I've never felt so alive!

Still not sure what Mojave is doing for me besides the dark theme, but I really like that theme.

Thanks again dosdude1, fantastic work!

That's odd. As far as I know, that's not the error most of us are seeing -- which is this:

MacRumors Security Warning.png

Clicking on the Show Details link in that warning takes you to another dialog where you can proceed to the blocked page (just once) but cannot refresh it without the above warning reappearing. (This warning can be got rid of by unchecking the Fraudulent Sites checkbox in the Security tab of Safari Preferences.)

No idea what's causing your error message but you might try clearing your history (from the Safari menu) -- and, maybe, your cache (enable the Develop menu in Safari Preferences, if it isn't already enabled, and from the Develop menu click on Empty Caches).
