Did you fix permissions on the new kexts and then clear the kext cache? If not then running these commands using terminal is required if you replace kexts.

sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOBluetoothFamily.kext

sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext

sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/IOBluetoothFamily.kext

sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext

sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

Wait for the last command to finish fully then reboot your machine.[/QUOTE
did the above and still no change

Screen Shot 2018-11-15 at 10.38.01 AM.png

Updated my MacPro 3.1. All was fine. A few days later it won't sleep and I cant use hot corners to turn off the screen. I restored a HS backup and upgraded again but same issue not screen sleep or machine sleep. When I select sleep from the menu a few seconds later I get a chime from the built in speaker.

Re applied all the patches, reset NVRAM, SMC, turned off all bluetooth.

If I boot from the HS backup, sleep is fine.

Are you using a USB key created from the 10.14.1 full installer and Mojave patcher 1.2.3? I have a MacPro 3,1 with Apple Cinema Display with patched 10.14.1 installed on an APFS volume with the APFS Boot rom patches applied to the EEPROM. No issues here with either using the Sleep menu item or using the corners to sleep the display alone.

Ok, looks like you have correctly fixed the permissions of the 2 kexts and rebuilt the kext cache. The response in terminal is similar to what I get. Have a look on page 404 (before you do anything) to my and jackluke's posts. Replacing the bluetooth kexts works for many people but unfortunately not all. It worked for me with Mojave 14.0 but not 14.1. I replaced one further kext to get BT working in 14.1 for me so I have attached the HS one if you want to risk it. You will have to fix permissions again.

sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOACPIFamily.kext

sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/IOACPIFamily.kext

sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

Hi guys I have problem with my home wifi with odd issue okey let me describe it , I have a home wifi and I use it with all my devices without any problem but when I try to connect with my macbook unfortunately unable to discover SSID on mac but when I Start my android phone hotspot and once when I connect with mac to this hotspot then I can find my home SSID in macbook this is too strange.

Sometimes occurs to me also, maybe your main router is set only on 5 Ghz frequency, for some reason sometimes Mojave on some mine unsupported mac is unable to detect the 5 Ghz frequency (maybe due to the patched IO80211Family.kext) but only the 2.4 Ghz . So try to enable the 2.4 Ghz in your modem/router's wifi settings and you will see that Mojave can discover its SSID easier.

Sorry to hear you still have no BT. Obviously something changed for BT between 14.0 and 14.1 to which there seems to be no reliable fix. For some it works but others it does not. There does not seem to be a pattern. I do not have any further suggestions at this time. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable on the forum may figure it out. We will see if 14.2 causes more problems or helps.

Then try to use the IOACPIFamily.kext and the 2 IOBluetooth*.kext taking from the USB Mojave Installer and replace yours into /S/L/E/ then launch Terminal and type:

sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/
sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/
sudo kextcache -i /
sudo reboot

After reboot check if Bluetooth prefpane is disabled (turned off), if so turn it on from there.

Yes, all default patches for Mac Pro 3,1
[doublepost=1542221518][/doublepost]@Larsvonhier , FYI my macbook 5,2 doesn't show any digital in/out nor light in the audio port

I guess the book only shows additional I / O as long it's connected. Tested here on a supported MBP 2012.

Trying to install using OTA Beta 3 on MacMini 3,1 and can't boot into Flash drive. I hold down command and it continues to boot. Any ideas?
Shouldn't it be the 'option' key? If you're trying to select the startup disk..

Yes typo I am holding the option key. I just found the problem. The USB installer is cracked. I am building another. What a shame I ruined a 64Gb SD card by just plain carelessness.

Hey, thanks for the detailed report.
I was gonna upgrade from Sierra to Mojave but now I am considering just going to High Sierra instead (some people suspect Macbook5,1 may have problems with Mojave). Have you had any problems since upgrading last week?. Thanks
I haven't noticed any other problems, though on 10.14 it would sometimes fail to load file and folder icons. If I recall correctly this happened after it had been asleep for a while and I'd woken it up, so a restart would usually resolve the issue, but it happened often enough to be annoying. I haven't noticed that behavior with 10.14.1 yet but I've been in the habit of shutting it down rather than putting it to sleep, so I'll test it out and let you know if it repeats. Before Mojave I ran 10.13 on the same MacBook5,1 and it worked beautifully. If I have any persistent issues with Mojave I'd have no problem "downgrading" to High Sierra, other than missing out on the new News and Stocks and Voice Memos apps...and the latest emojis of course!

Did a reinstall and issue resolved.
I think it was one of the patches I installed.

Hello everyone! I just successfully installed Mojave on an early 2008 iMac (iMac8,1), so far everything that is supposed to work fine, does in fact work fine.

However, I've been really curious about the WiFi incompatibility mentioned in the first post. My iMac has a BCM4321 WiFi module, which as noted, doesn't work in Mojave, High Sierra, and Sierra. Which is fine, but what exactly can I replace it with? It's great that the opening post says what doesn't work and a replacement is needed to restore connectivity, but what replacement(s) would work?

Is there a card anyone has used that would work (even with I imagine an adapter being needed) in the early 2008 iMac?

In the meantime I'm using an old Airport Extreme as a wireless bridge, which is fine, but of course I'm only getting 1/2 of the speeds I could be getting. And Siri just absolutely can't bring it to herself to let me tell her my location so that she can tell me the weather. Siri for whatever backwards reason absolutely needs WiFi only (no other method allowed) in order to tell me the weather.

Currently running Mojave 10.14.1 on a Mac Pro 2008 (3,1), 32 GB RAM, GTX 770 PC Card (no boot screen), GT 640 (with boot screen) on a 1 TB SSD with APFS using the APFS software patch and Windows 10 Bootcamp on a 250 GB SSD.

I noticed the APFS Boot rom patch is back and wondering if I should just leave it with the APFS software patch or bite the bullet and flash the rom. I generally don't need to see the boot screen unless I switch to Windows using the Option key. When I reboot Windows, it automatically boots back into Mojave.

If I were to do it, can I uninstall the APFS patch or do I need to reinstall Mojave on a formatted APFS disk?

Has there been mostly success in flashing a Mac Pro 2008? I'd hate to brick my machine now that it's running great now.

I successfully updated my 8,2 from 10.14.2 Beta1 to 10.14.2 beta 2 via Software Update without the need to re-patch.

Sweet. My guess on why you didn't need to re-patch was because you used the boot "APFS ROM Patcher" and not the MacOS Post Install "APFS Patch". Did I guess right?

No, APFS is natively supported on the 8,2 (Early 2011 MBP 15" non-retina).

Edit: Without the post-install patches, gfxCardStatus 2.4.4i indicates that the machine is using the discrete AMD 6490M GPU.

2nd Edit: I'm going see if my 5,2 (mid-2009 MB 13") with APFS software patch will update OTA from 10.14.1 to 10.14.2 beta3, it failed previously.

I had zero problems in flashing my Mac Pro 3,1 with the APFS rom patch.
