@dosdude1 any chance to update the dgpu disable page (http://dosdude1.com/gpudisable/) and add the information, that sleep and brightness will not work anymore after these steps? I did the patching process because of the information "should work completly normally" and had a hard time to find these informations (and have to rollback to HS)
If your discrete graphics is AMD, just put back AMDLegacyFramebuffer.kext, AMDLegacySupport.kext and AMDxxxxController.kext, where "xxxx" your AMD graphics card series to /System/Library/Extensions folder, then execute in terminal "sudo kextcache -i /", reboot.

It works for me, I have mbp8,2 with dead amd gpu.

It will be hit and miss from one software update to the next as to whether patched system files get upgraded. In general, it is safer to re-apply the necessary patches in case some unnoticed breakage in the patching is left from the upgrade.
Sure! I needed to re-apply after my post. The side effect was the lost of sound processing.

Hi, I just updated my macbookpro 8.1 from 10.14.1 to 10.14.2 by preferences system, everything works except the sound, I patched it but didn't work. any idea ?

Here on a MacPro 3,1, update successful to 10.14.2 with Dosdude patcher, post-install and force caches rebuild before reboot. Only night shift has disappeared but I will reapply the update patcher for that.

On my MacPro 3,1 update to 10/14.2 sucessful with Dosdude patcher (Software Update dont see the update.......... as I am on HFS+) post-install from the USB stick and force caches rebuild before reboot. Only and small problem : Night Shift has first disappeared but is back after reapplying the Patch Updater !!!!!!!!!

No need for new Patcher for me.

Hi,
I cannot seem to find it but I am sure it has been covered somewhere. I put an SSD from the unsupported MacBook into the supported MacBookPro and on the boot when you press Option the EFI Boot keeps hanging around even though I don't need it anymore. How to get rid of it? I believe dosdude1 had a script somewhere that will allow to remove EFI Boot from the boot option. Just removing it with the "gpt remove -i 1 /dev/disk0" probably would not be right? Clean install of the OS does not seem to get rid of it.

Edit: Found it#5683.

Thanks to dosdude1 and David403!

Where do I find these kexts?
[doublepost=1544120672][/doublepost]Also, is there a way to keep the discrete graphics enabled? At least the video out?

Why we cant update with combo update installer? @dosdude1 is there any solution for that?

How did you get APFS to install on a RAID? Thanks in advance!

create manually from Terminal before Install Mojave

diskutil appleRAID create stripe Storage JHFS+ disk0 disk1
diskutil umountDisk disk2
gpt create disk2
gpt add -t hfs disk2

Enter DiskUtility from Format to APFS

after install Mojave and Post-Install Patch

boot single mode (cmd+s)

mv /usr/standalone/bootcaches.plist /usr/standalone/bootcaches.bak

reboot

nice!

Your discrete graphics is works?
What macintosh you have?
MacBookPro 8.2
My card works, but I disabled it to install Mojave. I have upgraded to 10.4.2. Can I re-enable it? How?
Or, at least, re-enable the brightness control and sleep function. Where can I find the kexts you referred to?
I miss the video out, as well.

In short,
pkgutil --expand
Patch the Distribution file
pkgutil --flatten

I have extremely slow internet right now so I haven't downloaded the updater yet but I can make a step-by-step for it later today or tomorrow.
Dont get it when I try this;

pkgutil: option `--expand' requires an argument

Hello, I have a question about the Post Install procedure. When I run it, the app shows that my detected model is MacPro 5,1, which is effectively correct because, last year, I did the 4,1 to 5,1 flash upgrade. Trouble is, when I try to select from the drop down list, the MacPro 5,1 choice does not appear in the list.

At the moment, I’m selecting the MacPro 4,1 as the “nearest” choice, but am I missing out on anything by not selecting a more suitable option?

When flashed to a 5,1, you don't need to apply any post-install patches at all.

Mac Mini 2011 here. Upgraded to 10.14.2 and didnt even need to repatch. Seemed to upgrade without a problem.

Scrap that. I have no sound.

Booted from the key I installed the patches with, re-installed ... still no sound?

The same happened to me on my Mac Pro. No patch worked. If you hear of any fix for this let me know. Thanks!

Same :(

Okay that's cool. While you're here, can I just take the opportunity to add my thanks to you. This is an amazing service you've done for the Mac community!

Also, one quick question, if I may. One of my apps Tweetbot has some visual glitches with the scrollbars showing up too brightly...

Screenshot 2018-12-06 at 20.39.38.png

Interestingly, I sometimes have a glitch where my USB drive tries to dismount by itself. When this happens, it's normally accompanied by the wireless mouse ceasing to work. It's also at this point that the scrollbars in the app above become a very nice shade of black with rather attractive white framed black scroll handles. Sadly this doesn't help me much, because by this time the mouse has stopped working!

Is there some patch or other that can be applied to get my scrollbars to default to black, while the mouse is actually in working order?

It's not desperately urgent, but it's just about the only visual gremlin relating to graphics that I've been experiencing since I started doing these Mojave patches.
