@dosdude1,

You may be already aware of this. I used your macOS Patcher v1.2.3's Tools | Download to check what version it downloads. I see the package Contents version.plist that it lists the version as 14.3.2. So I guess that 1.2.3 downloads the latest 10.14.3 GM version.

Just an FYI. Thanks for your app/tools!

Great to know. I used @dosdude1's patcher app to download full install 10.14.3 Final to update (instead of OTA).
Worked fast and smooth. No issues encountered.

Hey guys,

yesterday i finally decided to update my Macbook Pro8.1 (2011 modell) to mojave.
So far so good, everything went fine (except the bug with the high sierra instead of mojave download) and i really like on how the system works on my "old laptop". Everyseems is faster compared to High Sierra.
Installed the 14.14.3 update, patched it again and everything worked fine.

Well, today i connected an external monitor to my macbook through thunderbolt2 to hdmi adapter and tried to watch some youtube videos. Well now here the problem begins:

Everything over 720p50 is lagging and i also get very high usage of my cpu and high temps of my system. When i checked istats it seems that all the rendering for the youtube videos is done by my CPU and not by my GPU (Intel HD 3000).

When i watch a video with 720p50 i get temps around 90*C, pretty high usage, fans are at full speed but when i check the usage of the GPU there is none. Also INTEL GPU energy consumption is always at 0.00A. It seems that despite my Intel HD 3000 gets recognised by macOS it isnt used or something like that.

Tried to install/patch the video driver again, but it didnt helped.

Well, because i use my macbook mostly for writing stuff and watching videos that is a pretty big problem for me :D.

Anybody knows on what i can do? Dont want to get back to high sierra =(
Thanks!

Upgrading iMac 8.1 from Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6 to Mojave 10.14.3 successfully...
Well, almost...
To run the WiFi under 10.13.6, I had replaced the famous Broadcom BCM4321 with an Atheros AR5BXB92 (worked very well under 10.13.6 ...) and to my surprise it does not work anymore with Mojave!!!
I fixed this automatically with the tool "AirPortAtheros40 installer.app" on this page:

https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/956-airportatheros40kext-installer-for-macos-mojave

here is the direct link, if someone is interressed: (an account must be created in order to download...)

https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/f...load&csrfKey=2e9e30bcccf9f9898705b5bb3d06a830

This application install the missing AirPortAtheros40.kext into /System/Library/Extensions, repairs authorization on /System/Library/Extensions and rebuilds system caches.
Now the Wifi of my iMac 8.1 works perfectly.

I have a question for Dosdude1: What exactly does "Legacy Wifi Patch" in the "macOS Post Install" application?

Only brightness no longer varies with the F1/F2 keys or system preferences :(. I installed "Brightness Slider" but it does not satisfy me. Is there a way to reactivate the F1/F2 keys for brightness?
or is there a post that explains how to solve this? I have a little fleme to reread the 467 posts...;)

I have tried to download it from App Store, not from the Dosdude1 app, to keep it (barely) legal. So, it seems the Dosdude1 app now downloads 10.14.3 . This means the download is available, somehow, from Apple, but my machine can not get it.
For me, even downloaded from the Dosdude1 app, it is till 10.14.2 . Are you sure the installer app has been updated?

Then you won't receive any updates through system preferences.
Your Drive needs to be APFS formatted to support it.
Download the full installer with dosdude's patcher app instead.
Bad that I can't convert to APFS :( to much Files stored on this SDD. Cause the option to convert is greyed and not to select.

It’s not you, it’s your GeForce 320.
The UI animations are fine on my GeForce 320M (mid-2010 MacBook here), no worse than on High Sierra. The only graphical issues I've noticed are the ones fixed by @pkouame's patch.

@lorehaze, are you sure you have full acceleration? Do you have transparency of the Dock and menubar? If not, try reinstalling the legacy graphics patch and rebuilding the prelinkedkernel. You might be running in software rendering mode which'd explain the slowness.

Maybe someone else can help you out with this issue, I never manually converted a drive. Maybe it’s greyed out because it’s your active boot drive? Did you try to boot from the patcher usb stick and use the disk utility the from the installer / patcher?
Don’t forget to backup your drive before you convert it.

You’re most likely going to have to format your drive before you will be able to convert it to APFS. Unfortunately at this point there doesn’t seem to be any other way. Depending on how badly you want this update, you may have to wipe your drive to do it. I can’t be for sure though, cause I haven’t done any kind of formatting like that in a while. Best of luck!

Can confirm 10.14.1 is installed and running fine on my MacBook5,1 (late 2008 unibody, upgraded to 8GB RAM and a 128GB Crucial SSD formatted HFS+ journaled). Only hiccup was that I had to use the "Force Cache Rebuild" function – see all steps as listed below.

Here are the steps I followed to update from 10.14...

Just updated my MacBook5,1 to 10.14.3. Upgrade procedure went smoothly and was the exact same as outlined above for 10.14.1. One nice improvement is that Textedit now works in dark mode. Under 10.14.1 it had continued to use black text on the white background, but now it's white-on-black. Will update this post with any bugs as I discover them...

:)

Oh dear. It's another firmware update issue. I'm have a script to fix the compatibility, it also removes the firmware update. You can try that here if you want. Let me know if you need help with something.
No working 10.14.4 beta - but different story here: OTA worked well, no firmware update issue, but after reboot (and re-patching with the v1.2.3 patcher) I get a "non supported machine" error.
Strange thing: The PlatformSupport.plist has valid entry for my MBP 5,2 (as before!), as to be expected when applying that particular patch.
There must be some other location (perhaps the EFI boot volume) with another plist file to be modified. Will continue to look for it...

EDIT:
No luck, found no other location containing a PlatformSupport.plist file. So this is no different to previous 10.14. Mojave versions.

Two more observations, though: Tried the OTA 10.14.4 beta 1 on two more machines, one MB Pro 4,1 and one MB Pro 7,1. On both, the "unsupported" message did not show up, but near the end of the booting process, graphics switched back to log text output and kind of cycling through the messages shown in the photo. I´d regard them as GPU/graphics-related.
Cycling means, blank screen for a few seconds, then again text msg output for a few seconds, always same output. 2nd photo shows non-verbose progress and stuck point near end. Spinning wheel also not correctly rendered for some reason, completely white after a while.

At this point I assume that @dosdude1 and his patcher magic in a new version of the tool will be necessary... ;-)

Works for me. I opened macOS Mojave Patcher v1.2.3 from its DMG disk image, clicked on the menubar Tools > Download macOS Mojave.. and got 10.4.3

You can read the macOS version number by opening the Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg inside the installer. And looking at System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

Edit: Are you on a connection with heavy caching? Apparently some file on Dosdude1's website point the software to the right download. If that file gets cached but never updated, then you would see your behaviour.

I have managed to get the installer app from both the Dosdude1 app, then from the App Store. It seems it is solved. I have re-created the installation pen drive using the App Store app, to keep it legal.

The Mojave installer said 10.14.2 via Get Info after I downloaded it via dosdude1's patcher tool today, but after I completed the installation procedure About My Mac says it is indeed 10.14.3.

Same experience for me on an MBP5,3 ... OTA, reboot, re-patched with 1.2.3 (including force rebuild cache) and got the same error message: "non supported machine".

Will try later on a supported MacMini Late 2012.

@Larsvonhier, saw on the OP (which I assumed you noted) to not install or upgrade due to existing problems. What exactly are the issues? Thanks.

After updating to 10.14.3 on my 3,1 - I had to re run the patcher, it kept getting kernel panics. That was fixed as soon as I re-patched.

I just found out that after 10.14.3, I no longer have any audio devices working. It was working perfectly fine prior to the update.
Here's system prefs:

You sure you are not confusing 14.3.2 with 10.14.2.
Get info on the installer download from dosdude1 shows 14.3.2 which is the correct version.

Re-install the Legacy Audio Patch using Patch Updater.

@dosdude1 I have a question
I have a MacBook 5,1 with SSD - can I use APFS on this machine? If I use APFS, is there any problem with the machine? (won't boot, no boot volumes,...) those issues I get from the internet.

Thank you!
