Macbook 5,2 updated successfully but brightness and siri not working. Same as other users with Macbook 5,2 except siri doesn't crash only doesn't receive input from microfone
I don't know but it seems that Article 13 will effect the use of memes in the EU. I'm beginning to think that there is no intelligence in Brussels.

Hello, I’ve just tried the update to 10.4.4 and each time I try to reboot, I’m getting stuck at the Apple logo + 80% progress stage with an initially spinning logo which isn’t so much a beach ball of doom, but a grey puckered ******* of doom. I’ve tried to boot 3 times and I cannot get beyond this stage. Although my machine has just spontaneously switched off. I’m just about to try yet again. Any ideas, anyone??!!

My MBP 5,5 was working flawlessly in 10.14.3, but I can’t get .4 to fully boot after install.

No, the machine hadn’t switched off, just the screen blanked out totally. Apologies for the bad word in the previous post which I see has been ***’ed out! You can probably guess the word from the previous word!

@dosdude1 i really need help and I am really stuck. I tried every possible scenario but none of them helped.
I made clean install 5 times with your new installation tool but I can’t boot. I can’t see boot drive. I can see on the start up panel and disk utility but can’t see when I click the option key.
Even I tried install El Capitan it is boot without any problem. After El Capitan I reinstall Mojave again no boot. I reinstall all patch multiple times but it doesn’t help. Tried Nvram/Pram reset and try to start safe mode never boot.
Please somebody help me what can I try more.

Only if the patches and mods are on servers located in the EU. It would be hard for Apple to enforce this world wide.
iMac 9,1 but I used for now with Apfs even last night I updated without any problem. Probably I did something wrong and now it doesn’t work.
I am trying to install now as a hfs this is the last thing I didn’t try.
For those interested to have somewhat of a working APFS Recovery, I have fitted it into script, finding a way to cheat any UUID so it should work fine, and don't worry this won't break your mac. Enjoy.

It is a simplified version, deeply tested, it will work 99% of the times.
My script is totally open-source, just highlight the file, press space-bar to show the code inside.
It does not harm and not produce any side effects to your Mojave, Bootcamp or any other partition.
This file went updated often, so please re-download when you need to fix your APFS Recovery again.

My guess: this will not change now.
The 10.14.4 update did not seem to break your previous APFS recovery solution. Still bootable.
Which video card do you have installed? Non-Metal GPUs will require that you create a new USB installer with the latest Mojave Patcher version, and use that to run post-install patches. New patches are included that are needed to get these cards working on 10.14.4.
My experience feedback updating to 10.14.4 on an iMac 11, 1 (Late 2009)...

- Remade USB updated drive from Mojave 10.14.3 to 10.14.4 w/Dosdude1 patcher v1.30
(Re-downloaded Mojave via patcher v1.30 as well, prior to making the new USB Drive)
- OTA update iMac 11,1 to 10.14.4
- On reboot, iMac stuck at blank grey screen.
- Reboot again w/<option> key to startup from USB patcher disk
- Startup fine, run "after install" patcher app w/rebuild cache.
- Reboot, and it turns out Mojave was apparently still in the middle of installing, but this time I got crappy graphics which at least showed progress.
- Finally Mojave 10.14.4 update finishes and boots itself to desktop. Graphics look good now. Dosdude1 Sys Pref patcher shows alert that patches are overwritten.
- Restart iMac again w/<option> key to boot from USB patcher disk, run "after install" patcher app again, rebuild caches.
- Reboot into Mohave 10.14.4. All is well with the world!
Running fine, with ONE PITA exception: Remotix Remote Desktop app doesn't work. It will not show the remote screen, just a blank grey screen. This is for both VNC (Apple) and RDP (Windows 10) connections.
Of note:
- iMac 11,2 w/10.14.4 - Built-in Apple Screen sharing and the MS RDP app both work fine w/my headless RDP machines
- Officially Supported Late 2012 Mac Mini (6,2) w/10.14.4 - Remotix works as expected.
- On Early 2011 Macbook Pro (8,2) w/10.14.3 - Remotix works as expected.
- Seems there is an incompatibility ONLY between Remotix app and Unsupported Macs w/10.14.4.
- Work around is to use Apple Screen Sharing and/or MS RDP instead of Remotix.
- Still would prefer to find a fix.
- I will be updating my MPB 2011 (8,2) last, since I have to work with the disabled discrete GPU and Continuity Activation tool issues that I spent weeks fixing for 10.14.3. (which are both working GREAT now in 10.14.3 BTW).

I think I have a solution of sorts. I rebooted onto the USB key again and ran the post-install procedure. Despite you advising me that having a 4,1->5,1 firmware, I didn’t need to apply any patches, I selected the patches for a MacBookPro 5,1 which gave me a fairly full selection of patches, and, blow me down, when I rebooted this time, macOS 10.4.4 started. It’s taken a good few minutes to settle down, but everything seems to be okay now. I *was* sweating for a bit there, though!
Didn't checked, I just used "perl" to edit a plist on-the-fly without converting in plain-text and cheated the system using /*/ as undetermined folder. If a user has more than one folder in Recovery Volume the immutablekernel will be written more than once but it does not damage anything. Tried also to include a "whoami" sudo check but had to write a separate script, I don't care about it.

On my quest to find a solution for the missing sound wave animation while Siri is listening, I seem to have messed up at a different location. I cleaned up everything and the UI framework is really still the only needed replacement.

My script get’s the recovery volume from the volume name, mounts it, asks which version to patch, patches the kernel on that version, patches the support on all versions.
With GM you certainly mean the final release? The term "golden master" would not apply here, as it is generally used for stable versions of major releases in their final test phase. i.e. 10.15.0 GM (after all the preceding betas) would be the next GM to be expected...
