Finally i go back to the 10.14.6 stock version with a clear installation, and all comes to normallity, this update broke some drivers i think.... becouse the performance its horrible.

The diference its amazing.

If I were you, I would wipe the drive and do a clean and fresh install. The latest update is working perfectly on my 2011 Mini.

How is the display connected? Probably Single Link DVI to HDMI? If so, you could try using a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. There's two kinds - passive and active. Passive requires that the DisplayPort output supports DisplayPort dual mode (does the Quadro have that?). Active might be better in your case sense the GPU will send a DisplayPort signal instead of HDMI. You can get a DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter (but your TV only needs HDMI 1.x) which are always active.

The Quadro 2000 is a Kepler generation GPU so it should work in latest macOS?

Thank you for the answer, I'll try with a different cable/adapter, but on the same hardware Windows 10 works without a glitch...

Hi Folks,
i installed the Mojave with dosdude1s Patcher very easy on my MacPro 4,1 (2x2,93GHz) with 32GB RAM and a GPU (patched windows version) NVIDIA GTX680 with 2GB. All works very fine and smooth. But I cannot download already purchased apps from the Mac App Store. It runs out with a infinity circle. When I try to purchase apps (I tested with free apps) the purchase process works, but not the download. It ends with the same issue, the infinity circle. I try the OnyX tool, but no effect.
Have anyone solve this problem?
Thanx
Andreas from Germany and sorry about my bad English!

Hi,
You are using a wrong wording, you are really talking about the software and not the firmware.
Back up your data, boot into your Mojave patcher, go to Disk Utility, erase your HDD/SSD as HFS+/GPT and then install Yosemite.

Hi,
Use earlier version of FinalCutPro that does not require Metal to function properly.

On 10.14.3 fine with early 2008 MacBook Pro. Saw 10.14.6 worked so went ahead and updated. Did the 4.1 MacBook Pro patch and rebuild cache.

On startup everything looks fine, then two-thirds complete, the white scroll stopped or rather pauses and then resumes spinning. Just freezes out at 2/3rd mark.

Ouch! A repatch and rebuild of cache, same result. The restart goes fast to 2/3rd mark and with the white dial stopped just no longer advances only the screen times out to dim.

Disk format is APFS.

FIXED:

Update, the patcher needed an update and didn't know until a visit to the Dos Dude's page.
The version running worked with 10.14.3 but the Mojave Patcher needed the upgrade for 10.14.6.

Thank you Dos Dude!!

Help!

Just upgraded the OS to mojave on my MP3,1, 32GB RAM, NVidia GeForce 8800 GT (stock, I guess) - did an in-place over my unused El Cap install (should I have wiped the volume first?) annnnnnd only have ONE display of the two that's working. Both work fine in Snow Leopard, using DVI. Have reset SMC, PRAM, checked to see all updates and patches are applied. Still only one display. Is there a magic trick I'm missing or is this a limitation of the card?

Thanks,

Deb.

Try by plugging USB into mac, start up and hold Option key to get to USB Yosemite installer.

Select and boot from USB.

At install window, go to menu and choose Disk Utility.

Use Disk Utility to reformat hard drive to HFS extended, journaled.

When done, quit Disk Utility then return to installer window and install Yosemite.

Good luck!

Now it runs my Mojave on my MacPro!! Im very lucky...

Just installed to Mini 2010 (mini 4,1) HFS+ Everything went fine, no problems until I installed the 2020-001 from the standalone using this method, which I had already run successfully on another Mac. After the update correct version shows at 18G3020, and DU checks out OK, but constant beachballing doing anything simple + numerous glitches. Restarts take forever.

Tried everything to fix, ran all appropriate patches from USB Patcher, and then from Patch updater Reinstall All, Onyx various maintenance, zapped PRAM and anything else I could think of. No dice, nothing really helped. Finally had to reinstall back to 18G103 (after Supplemental), where everything is good again and fast. Cloning now to APFS partition on an external, and will run the update from there and clone back. Hoping this will work better than the manual.

Lots of errors and failures and timing out in Console but never saw any particular smoking gun. Anyone else encounter this from the manual install from HFS+? No idea why it worked before and not this time.

EDIT: I'm assuming the problem I experienced with the 2020-001 manual from standalone wasn't because the Patcher installer used the 18G103, and then had to go through 2 subsequent security updates to get to the 18G3020.

Security updates are cumulative, no?

Hi @joevt , I have just tried a Display Port to HDMI converter connected to my Nvidia Quadro 2000 and LG M2352D TV Monitor. I have also managed to install Nvidia web drivers for the unsupported Mojave, following this tutorial that patches the original installer for my specific build of 10.14.6

I have obtained only a very strange behaviour: LG M2352D monitor doesn't show BIOS setup (black screen maybe for old Bios characters res) for selecting Mojave as first boot (but it is already setted in my configuration that works with VGA) . No effects pressing F8 or ESC on ASUS motherboard. But it automatically loads Windows 10 with perfect ratio and 1920x1080 resolution. With DVI to VGA converter Mojave loads fine, stable and fast, but it is always stucked to 1280x1024 @ 60 hz 5:4 ratio. SwitchresX4 app is useless to try to force other resolutions.

I'm pretty sure that a dreamed @dosdude1 @ASentientBot Clover bootable Mojave Patcher would fix this issue. :)

I think Apple removed support for VGA so I think you should use HDMI. What DisplayPort to HDMI adapter did you use? Did you try a DVI to HDMI cable (no adapter)?

I don't think you should use web drivers for Mojave.

What does "About this Mac" -> "System Report" show for "Graphics/Devices" and "PCI"?

I have tried an DVI to VGA adapter + VGA cable (works 1920x1080 with win 10, 1280x1024 on Mojave)
and
DISPLAY PORT to HDMI adapter + HDMI cable (works 1920x1080 with win 10, black display on Mojave)

The strange is that, when connected to HDMI, Windows 10 shows up only during second (graphic) booting, not showing motherboard startup options, that instead work with VGA connections for both Win & Mac

10de:0dd8 is GF106GL which is Fermi.

Did the GPU ever work properly before? Like in High Sierra with or without the Nvidia web drivers? If so, then post info from there (screen shots and kextstat).

Tried also a recent DisplayPort to HDMI cable (presumably with the converter inside) ..even worse, both hdmi port on the LG monitor don't recognize it :) I give up ...I Keep the hackintosh only as emergency backup and I use my Apple Mac Mini 2010 that still works perfectly with Catalina, thanks to @dosdude1 and @ASentientBot patch ?

Confirm
I can confirm this works on an iMac 7,1 with 10.14.3 to return native keyboard function brightness control.
Hello @MacPeet
I also have iMac8,1 and I found the solution (without using Brightness Slider.app) here are the links to my previous message #15477 and #16717. I followed message #11156 from @dosdude1 but didn't work on iMac8,1.

For iMac8,1 only replace the file "DisplayServices.framework" contained in "/S/L/PrivateFrameworks" and repair permissions (maybe it works on machines other than iMac8,1 but I could not test)

1. Download the archive below and unzip it.
2. Search for "DisplayServices.framework" in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks and Back it up.
3. Then replace "DisplayServices.framework" with the one contained in the archive you just unzipped.
4. open the Terminal and enters the following commands (to repair permissions):

Code:
sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DisplayServices.framework
sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DisplayServices.framework

5. After reboot the brightness control works with F1/F2 keyboard keys

It works with .3 .4 .5 and .6 (not tested on .1 and .2)

Just tested this on an iMac9,1 24" 2009 iMac and it did NOT work. It goes through the process, and pressing F1/F2 does step through brightness levels but as soon as you stop pressing buttons, it reverts back to the lowest setting. Also, putting brightness all the way up instantly goes back to lowest brightness settings without waiting a few seconds like the other levels. What did fix it was DosDude's original patch on post 11156 here : https://forums.macrumors.com/thread....2121473/page-447?post=26927734#post-26927734

Copied the archive, expanded it. CD'd into the directory, ran sudo ./install.sh. Got two cp errors during file copy, but after reboot brightness works flawlessly just as intended. Smooth increments up and down and holds them properly without any weird jumps or dips in brightness level. This was on a 10.14.3 install with HFS+ for informational purposes.

I have used the patch at the top for both iMac 7,1 2007 models and iMac 8,1 2008 models on 10.14.3 in the past, but the iMac 9,1 2009 models appear to need a different one. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Thank you. With High Sierra graphical glitches are even worses . I give up, I don't want to pay more for a 8 years old system. I hope that this year Apple will finally produce a new Macmini 2020 with 256 base SSD for 900€ and I will keep it until 2030 as I have done with the still fine working Macmini 2010 :)

COMPLETELY BEWILDERED! REALLY NEED SOME HELP WITH THIS, AT WITS END :

Wrote about this a few days ago. Installed to 2010 Mini which ran perfectly fine with build 18G103 on the internal HDD, until I ran the 2020-001 update. Produces endless beachballing, hangs, crashes, etc., BUT ONLY ON THE INTERNAL.

Runs perfectly well updated either on APFS (from Software Update) or HFS+ (by way of standalone/manual) on external drives. But as soon as I copy (with CCC) to the internal it becomes almost unusable. Have already done several reinstalls, but problem persists unabated. Have tried everything I can think of.

Basically do not understand why, when updated from build 18G103 to 18G3020, it won't run properly on the internal. (Never had this problem with Late '09 iMac).

All drives are HDD.

Any help, even wild guesses greatly appreciated.

Everything you said points to the failing internal HDD and/or HDD SATA ribbon cable that connects your HDD to the logic board. So, highly likely it is a hardware problem, nothing to do with Mojave or unsupported Macs.

Thanks. Just trying to understand better. If that is the case, why does High Sierra (supported) run perfectly well? Plus, so does the first install of the 18G103 before running the update to the 18G3020. Would expect both builds to run badly if it were a distinctly hardware problem.

Mojave hates HDD with great passion, High Sierra seems to be running quite well on HDD(HFS+). I don't have any experience with the CCC, maybe some errors are introduced in the way you clone it. Have you tried cloning using Disk Utility?
