Excuse me if this problem appeared before, I couldn´t find it.
Macbook Pro 8.3 17" late 2011. After the macOS Security Update 2020-002 , audio is gone. Applied patches again with @dosdude1 patcher, but no luck.

I restore the backup, made just before the macOS Security Update 2020-002 , audio is working 100%.

Thank you

Your kextcache just needs to be rebuilt after applying patches. Using the force cache rebuild option will do so.

Here are some links to older versions of the zoom software .pkg installers for Mac OS. Be careful guys, these are the ones all over the news with security issues.

Thanks! Unfortunately, none of those versions, nor any of the previous versions I found, will install. The installer runs a script to determine if "the software can be installed", and then closes itself.

I had the same problem on a 2009 iMac w/Mojave. I had to go back to a September or November 2019 Zoom App build version to fix. I have not upgraded Zoom since, and it continues to work correctly. (Just had two company conferences today and everything was great). I think Zoom changed something after Sept or Nov 2019 that makes it not work on unsupported Macs...which makes me think it has something to do with Metal support.

I also had a similar issue with Remotix and VNC connections (RDP worked fine). I just gave up trying to get Remotix to work, and use the MacOS native app for VNC. (And MS RDP for RDP).

Do you happen to still have a copy of that installer?

Use >Another< USB Drive, 16GB min
Opening this back up as I have been experiencing the same! I have tried all kinds of USBs 3.0 brand new 32gb, 64gb. and receiving this. I am on 10.14.6 and have tried on both my iMac Pro and Macbook 2017 on same OS. The log says "Couldn't Personalize volume /Volumes/macOs Base System", but it does bring up the finder window with the tool and it seems to be all there? Anybody have any clues if this is even a issue?

What tool do you use to make backups?

Here's one more thanks, and great thumbs-up to dosdude1 for his Mojave patcher.👍
I've just completely refurbished a white MacBook7,1 (white, mid-2010 2.4GHz) and updated with Mojave 10.14.6, and with the latest 2020 version of the WaterFox web browser it's performing like a champ! I was a little surprised too how well it runs as it only has 4GB RAM memory.
This is most definitely another 'keeper' for my collection. :)

have macbook mid 2009 5,2.
cant get it to boot off usb, get the prohibited sign. have also tried catalina patcher and get the same thing. Tried different usb sticks, nothing works.
can anyone help? have searched every where and cant find a solution.

Disable SIP with terminal from recovery mode or from the usb, not from the computer.
did it in recovery, checked the status, it is disabled.
tried formatting an 250gb external hdd to extended-journaled, tried to boot off that, same problem, prohibited sign.
thank you for helping me.

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I just installed Mojave 10.14.6 on a mid-2011 Macbook Air and am experiencing the same problem. When I run the Patch Updater, I see this process running "softwareupdate --ignore MacBook Pro Supplemental Update" but it never completes. If I run "softwareupdate -l" in Terminal, it never completes either.

Successfully installed Mojave 10.14.5 on a mid 2010 MacBook Pro 13" but ran into a couple of problem.
  1. Patch Updater hangs on "Installing Software Update Patch". All the other patches installed correctly, this one just hangs immediately after entering my password.
  2. I can't install or update any apps through the App Store. The app loads correctly and I can even purchase new apps, but it just circles if I try to download anything.
I've already reapplied the patches from the USB reboot, ran "sudo softwareupdate --clear-catalog" from Terminal and did the Onyx Maintenance.

Are there any other suggestions other than having to do a clean install?

I have Mojave installed on a apfs ssd. Can I create a 16gb OS X journaled partition and restore dosdude1 Mojave patcher to the partition and use it as a recovery partition instead of having to plug in the usb drive all the time after updates and such?

Try downloading macOS Mojave again then create your Mojave Patcher try putting the usb in a different usb port and try installing again

I'm posting this here in case anyone wants to have a guess. There's no way to diagnose MacBook Pro 8,3 because it has Vintage Status. It was running 10.14.3 on Patcher 1.2.3 – I don't think it's related to that though.
MacBook Pro was running without internal display until it unexpectedly failed to boot up one morning
  • Hinge broke a while ago – I've been using a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI cable (I don't know how to fit the display back on)
  • I left my device plugged into my TV's HDMI port overnight. No screws in backplate, the top case just rests on top
  • Next morning, the device would not boot up: fan spins momentarily, sleep indicator light turns on & off – will sometimes repeatedly attempt to boot until power is disconnected
  • I removed the optical drive because I thought it was to blame, I reset NVRAM/PRAM & SMC, disconnected & reconnected battery cable
I'm not sure what went wrong. I was only using it for video editing and light browsing. The Mojave patcher did not cause any problems either. Please do not hesitate to give your thoughts on this, I'm not sure what to do.
