Hi! I am trying to solve strange question - I want to install Mojave on the newest MacBook Pro 2019 (MacBookPro16,1) Officially Mojave is not support MacBookPro16,1. The problem is here:
As i understood i have two ways:
1) emulate older motherboard (I am trying to use Clover, it has some Fix* to emulate variables; it seems like a dirty way; now i am getting only black screen during boot )
2) patch installer to block/override motherboards checking (and maybe add some kext from Catalina for the newest hardware) Now i am trying macos-patcher for that...
Thoughts and advices are very welcome )
And sorry for my ugly english..
Mojave is the latest Mac OS with support of 32-bit applications. There are tons of applications and games which stuck in 32-bit state forever. Not sure why you want Mojave to run on that hardware...
I just tried https://github.com/rmc-team/macos-patcher and what i've got:But by my knowledge you can use the MojavePatcher tool to just install it on virtually any Mac.
sudo ./macOS\ Patcher.sh ruby-2.7.1

Install VirtualBox and then install your Mojave √Mojave is the latest Mac OS with support of 32-bit applications. There are tons of applications and games which stuck in 32-bit state forever.
... and forget about perfomance (in games, for e.g.)Install VirtualBox and then install your Mojave
With a Brand New MacBookPro16,1 ?? I doubt it. I bet its faster than my 12 core MP 5,1 and i play games in virtual land all the time √... and forget about perfomance (in games, for e.g.)
Different construction site, but we use the very same framework with our 2011 iMacs having sandy bridge CPUs to get back the iGPU "QuickSync" support in Mojave and Catalina. No, on Catalina it does not have effect.
Has anyone installed todays Security Update?
FYI, Howard Oakley's website has links to the standalone updates pretty much as soon as they become available - I read his blog every day and get my update info that way.I just installed SU2020-004 but had to do it via the standalone installer on my iMac 9,1 HFS. No issues.
For some reason I was going around in circles trying to find the download on Apple's site, don't know why they make it hard to find but here's the link for those who want it: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2045?locale=en_CA
Macpro 5,1 is supported in Mojave. You don't need any patcher just the regular installer. You can use the patcher but without installing the post installation patchesSorry is this has been covered before...but how do I install Mojave on my 2012 5,1 MP WITHOUT a Metal supported card? I recently upgraded the stock 1GB HD5770 with a 8GB Sapphire 480.
Upgraded the card for some gaming & to install Mojave, & didnt realize the card was not a Metal card
I used the dosdude patcher on my 2009 MBP & it worked great, but when I tried to use it on the 5,1 MP the patcher says that it is only for "unsupported" machines...
but I dont have a Metal supported cardMacpro 5,1 is supported in Mojave. You don't need any patcher just the regular installer. You can use the patcher but without installing the post installation patches
That is wrong Mojave requires a 'Metal' graphics card.Mojave doesn't require a Metal GPU to run that was introduced in Catalina
Install Mojave on your 5.1 MacPro, then use the patcher to just install the legacy video card patch.but I dont have a Metal supported card

Having a problem with installing SecUpd 2020-004 on my HFS+ install,I just installed SU2020-004 but had to do it via the standalone installer on my iMac 9,1 HFS. No issues.
