Own experience. I tried it myself using the RX5700 XT back when I used to do hackintoshing. CPU load was low for me and AMD VA driver loaded.
That's cool! Which smbios did you use? Did it enable with igpu disabled?

Cool!
I have no idea why there's no support on my spec lol
I checked gpu acceleration info on Chrome gpu page (chrome://gpu) which shows only h264, there's no vp9 support until i enabled igpu

Maybe Apple changed something. Last time I tried with my Hackintosh was back in Big Sur beta cycle. Doesn't make any sense tho because Radeon VII users still report it working and those cards use the same VA driver.

Another thing i just found out that "AMDRadeonVADriver2.bundle" binary (/System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonVADriver2.bundle/Contents/MacOS/AMDRadeonVADriver2) is missing in Big Sur 11.4

i see some errors on Console.app when "VTD(E)ecoderXPCService" invoking hardware acceleration on AMD Navi GPU

i see it still exists on Catalina 10.15... is it another bug in Big Sur? lol

```
getattrlist failed for /System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonVADriver2.bundle/Contents/MacOS/AMDRadeonVADriver2: #2: No such file or directory
```

There is no VP9 hardware decoding support for AMD anyway on macOS, only Intel GPU and M1, or at least not on my W5700.

That's sad. We can expect there's no hardware decoding VP9 on AMD dGPU only mac series in existense like iMacPro and MacPro
