many thanks for the developers for their great effort in 0.4.10

updated my 11,3 mid 2014 nvidia 750m from 12.4 to 12.5 smoothly without problems

I tried to trigger the Nvidia GPU with the photos app and everything worked perfectly like 12.4

Thank you again for everyone involved in this , much appreciated

My late 2012/13.2, 27/Imac now seems to work perfectly with 12.5/4.10 updated from 12.2. I downloaded 4/10 first then 12.5 after the installation I reinstalled 4.10, after the reboot(which seemed quick) I ran the patcher which said it would patch N/Kepler and Ivy bridge. the process was seamless and easier than previous efforts.

Thanks to all the geniuses who devote such time and effort to make this possible.

I just now received notice again that Ventura is available, I will wait patiently, happy that this Imac is doing better that I ever expected.

Thank you OCLP developers for the 0.4.10 Kepler fix for Monterey 12.5, extending the life of my MacBookPro10,1.

Using the full Monterey 12.5 installer and applying the post-install patcher worked flawlessly.

Thanks to the OLCP developers for the Kepler fix. However, I decided to replace my Kepler with an AMD card so I could get through Monterey without a root patch. The good news is that since the developers solved this problem that should be on their way to solving Legacy Metal in Ventura. Since I have AVX2-compliant MacBook Air (2015), I am hopeful this particular device should be among the easiest to support. Sadly, all unsupported Macs for Ventura will be at the root patch stage. Monterey should smooth sailing from this point forward.

Two “bugs” still remaining after 0.4.10, in Monterey, on my MBP11,3:

- the Geekbench 5 OpenCL test still quits unexpectedly, at the very beginning (while it works as it should in Big Sur): a known problem;

- when maximizing a Photos window in light mode, the menu bar becomes black with white text (maybe only a cosmetic glitch?): while in Big Sur it remains the same as the current theme.

Everything else, fortunately, seems to work correctly…

IMPORTANT WARNING! EVEN IF YOU HAVE OCLP 0.4.10 installed, BUT YOU HAVE NOT INSTALLED macOS 12.5 YET, DO NOT INSTALL "AutoPkg-Assets.pkg"!
I did incautiously and stupidly :mad: and my iMac with macOS 12.4, freezes and continually reverts to Login (loop).

Obviously, to fix it, I rebooted from the internal SSD with Catalina, I'm downloading macOS 12.5 and then I will install it after creating an USB Stick with the macOS 12.5 Installer and OCLP.

I thought that "AutoPkg-Assets.pkg" was useful to improve the behavior of the Post Install Patch, after restarting macOS 12.5; but obviously this is not the case.
So! I would be happy if someone explained - in a clear and understandable way - what "AutoPkg-Assets.pkg" is for, if and when it should be installed and where it should be placed so that OCLP could use it when needed.
Thank you very much!

It is stated very clearly that AutoPkg-Assets.pkg should not be run by the user.

@Jazzzny
Thank you, @Jazzzny. Maybe I didn't express myself well and I was sure that, on the basis of what was written, it was understood that I am not a rookie and that I have read the advice of the Changelog.md not to manually install "Auto-Pkg.assets.pkg ".

The fact is that so far I have always installed "Auto-Pkg.assets.pkg", with macOS 12.4 and the various versions of OCLP, without any problems.

In any case, I asked the Forum for information on the importance of "Auto-Pkg.assets.pkg", on when it can be used, on the correct way to use it and in what place to put it (ex: in Download and/or where is the OCLP app that launch?)

But thank you anyway for your kind concern. :)

AutoPkg-Assets.pkg is a support package used by the autopatcher during OS installation. It is automatically added to any USB installer created by OCLP and is run using an undocumented macOS post-installation administration feature.
Once again, you should NEVER run this package. It is not designed to be run by users. It is only for the autopatcher and bricked machines can and should be expected if you run Autopkg-Assets.pkg.

MBP 10,1 2012, open core patcher 0.4.10 still freezes when trying to run photos full screen, (also with external monitor). After a while jumps to login screen.

UPDATE: Deleted EFI contents, reinstalled and repatched. Working fine now.

what were your issues?

I have several cMP4,1->5,1 running Monterey via OCLP they all work well.

you might find more assistance if you out in the Mac Pro forum. Tere is specific thread for cMP running Monterey

Hi @krakman!

Lots of windowserver errors listed in console app, causing restart. Every time I leave machine for 2 or 3 minutes idle, it freezes and restart. Some sites opened in Safari or Safari Technology preview (or even in Brave or Firefox) also freezes and cause restart. I updated processor and memory (now I have a xeon x5690 and 32GB ECC RAM, and a NVMe). I didn't update USB or BT or WiFi. Next replacement will aim the Asus Strix R9 380 2GB for a Sapphire RX580 probably. If the GPU swap don't resolve the problems, I will replace the machine. I don't know if the Asus card have some incompatibility or is damaged. I tested every scenario that causes errors in Mac Pro on my MacBook Pro 8,3 and the machine deals perfectly with the apps. Only sometimes Loginscreen is killed when machine comes from hibernation. But totally stable!
I already disabled evergy saving, content caching, feature unlock...
I did a downgrade on Mac Pro to latest version of Big Sur, and it freezes same way, but in console, the erros listed now are about mds.

Best regards!

Thank you @Jazzzny! Thanks to your clarifications I think I have guessed what the package is useful for!
For my part, I have always created the USB Key starting from the Installer downloaded by Apple and using the createinstallmedia —volume command and after that I installed the OCLP EFI.
At this point I wonder if the best thing, however, is to create the USB Key Installer using OCLP and not as I have always done so far.
Apart from that, since I have now installed the “AutoPkg-Assets.pkg”, I hope that at the end of the installation of macOS 12.5 the Mac has no problems.
At the moment he tells me there are 20 minutes left to finish. We hope well.
And finally: but now that I have installed the “AutoPkg-Assets.pkg”, do I have to find a way to uninstall it from the system? Or does nothing happen? Thank you

@khronokernel, @chris1111

Thankyou for making my day with the release of the Opencore Patcher 4.10 and making the macOS Monterey 12.5 able to install on my computer. I am going to buy Asus Nvidia GT 730, Low profile graphics 4 HDMI output 2 more cards and add 6 to 8 more monitors to my computer thus completing my dream 12 or 16 monitor setup.

Success! MacOS 12.5 installation perfectly successful in my iMac with nVidia from the Kepler series. See attached screenshot. Thanks to all the OCLP Developers and @khronokernel first of all.

I have the same iMac late 2013 and to avoid any issues, should I update first to OCLP 0.4.10 ( post install patches included ) before running the Monterey 12.5 update ? Regards

Hi @edzuper! I proceeded by installing OCLP 0.4.10 first and then starting the update to macOS 12.5 suggested by System Preferences.
At the end of the installation Monterey restarts very well, but it “stutters” because the "Post Install Patch" still needs to be installed. It’s normal.
So, just restart OCLP, click on “Post Install Patch”, continue and restart your Mac when finished.
Your iMac will work very well again. Is simple.

[Note: I specify for other users that the installation method using an USB Key created with OCLP 0.4.10 also worked perfectly but I would add that I had to remove the EFI Boot first from the internal SSD and reset the PRAM otherwise (I don't understand why…) the USB Key and its OCLP EFI Boot did not appear after pressing the Alt key on Mac Boot]. Obviously at the end I put OCLP EFIBoot back on the internal SSD and then I removed the USB Key.]
