cMP mid 2012 5,1 installed macOS Monterey with OCLP 0.1.6. No problem to install Monterey, and the installation is faster than Big Sur.

You had no issues installing on a 5,1? Did you have any issues installing 11.3/4/5 on it without boot hangs? Just curious but pretty good news maybe.

I only had boot hang on the 11.5 at last installing state. The Monterey just select install, go have a cup coffee and came back 1/2 an hour later all done.

Nice. Any issues with cold boot or warm boot? Nvme or SSD?

For anybody wondering: At this time, I am planning on creating a brand new patcher for Monterey. I plan on using a fully native approach (IE not using OpenCore), and supporting only Metal-comptible systems (2012 and later, plus older systems with upgraded video cards). If this ends up being a huge pain I may reconsider, but as of now I will start working on a patcher within the next few weeks.

We have the same machine, it seems like it gonna be possible, I will test mine this weekend or next week, I will probably wait for the beta 2 or 3 before.

Has anyone gotten it working on a P8600 (MacBook7,1/MacBookPro7,1)? Trying from removable media and I'm getting stuck at com.apple.AppleFSCompressionTypeDataless load succeeded
I do have Big Sur installed via OCLP, should I try installing Monterey from the app in Big Sur?

Got mine via gibmacOS - master. Select C, then 4, it's the top entry.
Did this, tried to install via MacOS installer and my HD is greyed out with the message 'The update cannot be installed on the computer'. Did I do something wrong or do I need to create a bootable USB? mbpr late 2013

how to include kext Intel HD graphics 4000 in OpenCore?

Here I got macOS Monterey but without graphics acceleration (Intel 4000 drivers removed)

MacBook Air 2012 11" 4GB RAM
OpenCore 0.7.0 = changed MacBookAir5,1 to MacBookAir7,1

Thanks!

Is this the first time graphics isn't shown on the "About this Mac" window since Lion? Maybe because of the Apple integrated graphics in the new machines?

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ 12\ Beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume makes the USB.

I'm considering this, but the most used app by me, its not updated to M1 yet so I'm thinking if should I buy a 16" MBP or a 15" 2018 getting rid of my mini5,2 and mbp9,2 to just one actual machine that could be sold "easily"? I really don't know what to do.

wow. my 2015 us finally the oldest MacBook apple supports. kick ass laptop. ill be upgrading to the next MacBook pro king this year.
