What issue didn't I have? The Public Beta gave me nothing but problems. The Music app stopped working right, my AirPods Max was outputting distortion on the beta, A lot of my games stopped working, my generative AI software that is on the App Store stopped working, iPod functionality broken, video codecs through Firefox stopped working right and gave the wrong colors, video playback through the Apple TV app also didn't work...I can go on and on of all the issues I had and each public beta seed it only got worse. I had to wipe my Mac and go back to Monterey because of how bad it got.

Sonoma is not ready, not by a long shot. It needs another month to cook, two months tops.
Have you checked the bugs you reported in the feedback app, to see if they have all been addressed?

Anyone still having issues getting Time Machine to back up? I'm still getting a "Some of the files on your Mac cannot be backed up until Cloud Files syncing has completed" error. On RC, tried rebooting.

So would I, although I don't do anything overly demanding on this computer. Still - no problems whatsoever
I am an Xcode developer, Final Cut Pro editor, so I am a Pro on an Air. All of the issues I had with Xcode were fixed in the Xcode RC. Yes, I use Widgets on the desktop as well, had issues with those in previous betas, but finally fixed in Beta 5.

I am more likely to experience issues, and I can safely say that Sonoma is perfect for my pro workflow, so it should be extremely good, especially if you do nothing demanding like you said. I am not looking back to Ventura!

Still no full installers posted.. I'm on the macOS 13.6 RC (22G115) and am only being offered the prior macOS beta, not the RC. I really don't want to upgrade to a recent beta only to upgrade again right away.

I only updated my Mac Mini M2 Pro yesterday from current Ventura to the Sonoma beta and just installed the brand new update a few moments ago.

I am now on macOS Sonoma 14.0 (23A339)

This worried me a bit:
What issue didn't I have? The Public Beta gave me nothing but problems...
So I did try out the things I have and can...
... The Music app stopped working right, my AirPods Max was outputting distortion on the beta ...
Music app works just fine. Also tried out my AirPods Max with it, music (especially dolby atmos) sounds as brilliant on the AirPods Max as ever. No distortion at all. What do you mean with "...stopped working right..."?
... A lot of my games stopped working, my generative AI software that is on the App Store stopped working, iPod functionality broken, video codecs through Firefox stopped working right and gave the wrong colors ...
This I cannot say since I have no games on my Mac and don't use any AI software. I don't have an iPod anymore since years.
Can you give us examples for the Firefox/video codec issue? So we can check.
...video playback through the Apple TV app also didn't work...
Tried a few videos with the Apple TV app and everything worked. Tried out also sound with AirPods Max - all good. I only tried out videos of Apple+ though.
..I can go on and on of all the issues I had and each public beta seed it only got worse. I had to wipe my Mac and go back to Monterey because of how bad it got.
To Monterey? Why to such an old OS? You have a quite new M1 machine, right? Did you use Big Sur and/or Ventura before?
... Sonoma is not ready, not by a long shot. It needs another month to cook, two months tops...
Cannot confirm this. At least everthing I tested out, worked all OK. Did you updated your current OS or tried a fresh install as well?

A fresh install will probably be able to fix all your issues.

Sonoma has been rock solid on my Mini M2 Pro. No issues with Fusion 360, Prusa Slicer, MakeMKV, Handbrake, Lightroom, Photoshop, Word, Excel, ...

So far, I am happy!

Anyone with an M2 Pro/Max do a speedometer 2.1 test and do 2 runs as the second run tends to be a higher score.

Love to see compared to my m2max running Ventura with a high score of 445

If unrolling from the beta via the setting app will automatically delete the feedback app or I have to do it in another way ?

Feedback app is a system service. It never gets deleted. It only appears in the Dock when you sign up for beta as a shortcut.

When you unenroll from beta the feedback menu item will vanish from all apps.

okay, so even the RC candidate is still considered a beta? Its the first time I install a macOS version before the release date.

Any time you enroll in beta the Feedback app shortcut appears in the Dock and a Feedback item appears in the Help menu of every app. This will happen no matter which OS build you are on, beta, RC or mainstream release.

Ok, thanks for your answer. But now I just unrolled from the beta in the settings app, so will I be rid of the feedback shortcut for good? (I still have the app in the dock)
