How does the RC appear overall? Would you say it's stable and ready to be the final shipping version of Sonoma?

A few tiny bugs here and there.

When I select an item on the Desktop sometimes I can't open it or delete it. Have to select again or command-tab again. This is the same app focus bug that has been in earlier betas.

The side bar on the Stocks app still has a mind of its own. It scrolls up when I scroll down. It scrolls up when I select a ticker. This bug has been around for about 3 years. It might be related to Wacom tablet.

Also, using a Wacom stylus to interact with the widgets on the Desktop is fidgety and sticky. Those widgets can accidentally be dragged. Apple need to make it so that a user needs to hold down a widget for 2-3 seconds before it can be dragged, just like it is on iOS/iPadOS.

The RC is working great on my M1 Macbook Pro. There is one bug that has persisted across the betas related to Safari, open a private window, lock the device and in its locked state open a new private window, attempt to enter password or use fingerprint, freezes the laptop for sometime with a loading spinner on the cursor. After some duration, it will remain locked but this time the unlock of the private windows will work. Can anybody else test this on their device?

Any time you enroll in beta the Feedback app shortcut appears in the Dock and a Feedback item appears in the Help menu of every app. This will happen no matter which OS build you are on, beta, RC or mainstream release.
The Feedback App is always available on all Macs, iPhones, and iPads, whether on a Beta release or not.

I made a Shortcut to it to launch on iPhone & iPad:

On macOS you can find it in the following folder and just drag to your Dock:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/Feedback Assistant.app

Anyone having issues with presenter overlay feature in OBS? Going to test again later today but I was using 30.3 OBS and the overlay comes up blank / invisible with no camera view

The RC works great on my 2020 iMac but I’m disappointed there’s no music widget for Somona yet. For me it would be the most useful one. Hope they add it on a future Somona update for the upcoming year.

Decided to update my Mac mini to the Sonoma RC and was offered the prior beta (build 23A5337a) instead. Now I’m seeing the update to the RC, but am getting this error.. would be great to have a full installer.

I’ve also found that my external drives that I use for Time Machine are no longer mounting. Great.

^^^^With the last Beta I got that error twice and with the RC, I got it three times. both with about 20MBs left. I restarted each time and on the next try, the update completed successfully.

I agree on your installer comment🧐

This is a worry. Does anyone know if the issue/bug affects other (which?) VPN providers? I have asked the question of PIA Support.

How can you tell if this is the RC? I am still sitting on 13.5.2 and ready to update to Sonoma. Just wanted to make sure this is the RC. I update my phone and watch with public betas, just never did the Mac.

Man, I wish they gave us an option to open QR-launched webpages directly in safari rather than the scanner’s own browser. If you forget to hit the open in Safari button, the page disappears if you do anything else on your phone.
