It is not related at all. Does that bother you?
? I was only asking because you answered my question with a response that you then admitted was in no way related to my question. I'm just confused - that's all. But definitely not mad, not bothered and not heart-broken.

EDIT: We're having a language issue that results in some phrases being lost in translation. The phrase is "Violent Agreement." I think this is getting to be OT, but as has been proven earlier, I am clearly not the one to judge "on and off topic." I do have to go now, but I have enjoyed this discussion. Thank you.

EDIT2: I don't mean to dismiss you or your questions. If you have further questions or if I have somehow misunderstood, please feel free to PM me and I would be happy to continue the conversation.

I had to look that phrase "violent Agreement" up on Google to find that it may mean

"When two people think they are arguing, but fail to realize they actually agree."

Excuse the huge font, copy and paste nonsense. The way language changes, so fast these days. at 77 years old, my English is getting out of date quickly. Where do you live I wonder, to pick up the changing slang so quickly. Ooops, OT again.

I tried to build a USB booter/installer using the OCLP Patcher 1.1n (19 October) and the 14.1 RC beta using the Patcher to download the OS. It failed 4 times (2 Wi-Fi DL and 2 Ethernet DL) when checking the DL file integrity at the first build stage.
Using the exact same procedure with OCLP 1.1n for 14.0 worked fine.

People & Pets detection in Photos is completely messed up

Hello, is anyone of you also experiencing this issue, where in Apple Photos all of a sudden People get mixed up, and has gotten a complete mess overall after installing Sonoma? Even after resetting the People Album I am getting a lot of wrong Face assignments to People! The problem crawls then over to the other devices (iPadOS 17 / iOS 16). Maybe for the time being disable mediaanalysisd ?
Thanks Joachim

Just checked on my iMac 13,2 running 14.1 beta 23B5067a and People in Photos is screwed up. Seems to be just a completely random mix of people for each person. I'll update to the RC release and check again.

Updated to Sonoma 14.1 RC 23B73 and no difference. People in Photos just as random as before.

Hi, i have MBP 13,2 with Sonoma 14.1 and OCLP 1.1.0n. And I've problem with AirDrop. iPhone see my Mac but when I try to send something it's just say wait and nothing happens. Also I have problem with OCLP app, when I close it Mac give me a message "The OCLP app Was closed unexpectedly".
Do You have this problems? AirDrop is very important to me so I want to repair it.
Thanks

Here as well, its still crashing every time I click memories or people.
No crashes luckily, just the randomness in Photos/People.
I'm running 14.1 RC with OCLP 1.1.0 build d83f8ee (see attached screenshot). Might be worth a try?

Try latest nightly or I have found before as I posted using a app like Gswitch to select a specific graphics setting for me Nvidia or if it’s a MacBook turn off automatic graphics switching in the battery power options.

Hopefully someone can give guidance on recovering an unintended upgrade to Sonoma.

The scenario is:-

iMac Late 2013 21" - iMac14,1.

Had installed OCLP v04.10 (I think) and installed Monterey (12.6 from memory).

The iMac was setup used by my 86 year old aunt - strict instructions to call me whenever something popped up that mentioned updates etc. and I would Remote Desktop in and look/fix/updated etc.

Well - I had recently been out of action (major surgery) and she did not want to "bug" me so ignored a bunch of things. Then finally got frustrated or something and did "things" and called me saying that her Mac wasn't working right.

Best I have been able to determine - msgs kept popping up to upgrade to Sonoma (or the notification icon on System Preferences annoyed her or something) and she somehow managed to initiate the Sonoma install.

Afterward she got a message about OCLP needing to run root patches (amazingly she wrote the msgs down so it was clear what occurred though I did not discover this info (about the Sonoma install or OCLP) until careful grilling and phrasing of questions).

It appears the root patches were run and then the machine rebooted.

At this point - the iMac won't start - gets the Apple Logo and the progress line (slowly) gets to about half way and then stops there - nothing after that - no matter how long left.

I'm guessing I need to get the latest OCLP (1.01?) on the machine somehow and somehow run the root patching from that.

Any ideas/guide how I can achieve this and get the iMac to boot Sonoma?

I have the iMac (drove the 2 hours to pick it up) and any requisite bits (other Mac to download OCLP, build USB etc.) but not sure what the process is/will be to get this machine working again (and hopefully not a start from scratch scenario).

Any and all help is truly appreciated.

I had similar bluetooth problems when I upgraded to Sonoma from Ventura on both a 2011 and 2010 iMac.
This is what I did to get bluetooth back.
Download Ben Baker's Hackintool.app. Use the app to edit NVRam directly. Look for the entries:
bluetoothExternalDongleFailed
bluetoothActiveControllerInfo
bluetoothInternalControllerinfo
Delete all the entries, and wait for the NVRam to refresh itself. At least one of the entries (bluetoothExternalDongleFailed) should come back with value of <00>. If not, repeat deleting the entries.
For me bluetooth worked again when I performed the above steps, bluetooth settings will show all previously paired devices, and auto connect to them just as before the update.
I don't know why this happened, but this solved the issue.
Thanks.

I would create a OCLP Sonoma usb installer and either install over the existing one without wiping it to see if it works or to try and boot from the usb the original drive .

I would create a OCLP Sonoma usb installer and either install over the existing one without wiping it to see if it works or to try and boot from the usb the original drive .
These two URLs are your starting points:
On your other Mac, get the latest OCLP, have a 16GB USB memory stick initialized to HFs+ Guid format and named Untitled.
On the iMac, Insert the formatted USB, run the OCLP app and choose 1. Setting, to specify the target iMac 14,1, 2. Choose the Create macOS Installer, to Download Sonoma and make the USB installer. Takes a while, let it finish.
Boot the iMac from the new USB installer while holding down the Option key.
Choose the EFI icon first and the USB Installer. Choose the Install macOS option to overwrite the existing install.
If all goes well, you should be able to boot the iMac holding down the option key, with the USB inserted and again choosing the EFI option, then the iMac. After it boots copy the OCLP app or download it again form the iMac, and run it to install OCLP to the iMac. After that you won't need the USB inserted but you will have to use the option key to start up as previously. Once you are booting up from the iMac, hold down the Control key as you click on the EFI icon (only need to do that once, as it specifies booting from the EFI as a default.
Sounds complex, but after you have done it a few times it is easy.
Read the instructions if you get stuck!
Bon Voyage

I've seen similar messages when I lost my network connection while building a macOS installer with OCLP. For me, this isn't new to the latest OCLP. I didn't investigate further and recovered by making sure that my wired Ethernet connection was reliable and repeated the macOS installer creation. Is that what you found?

I saw another issue, but forget to capture the screen.
Maybe the the first, which is in the print screen, this is a network issue, i don't use ethernet with this machine, but wifi.
Updating to 14.1 RC, i thought to make an USB creation installation, when this message appears.
The other issue, when root patching before downloading KDK, of course wifi not working, there's no network, KDK being corrupted the patch should be installed twice, with the old one installed before, for the wifi comes on, to be able to download the next KDK.
2 different issues, one internal to be checked if network is working, and the other, more difficult, to check if network is on, to download KDK.
edit:
The OTA 14.1 RC worked well.

My MPB5,2 is now also running 14.1 RC, using OCLP 1.1.0n from 16 Oct for EFI and post-install patching. Updated OTA from 14.1b3 which was updated OTA over 14.1b2 which was installed from USB installer.

Running well, Photos crashing as before. - Photos was running OK before post-install patching (or more precisely, after running the patcher but before rebooting).

Very pleased with this outcome so far, thanks developers!

As a little bit of nostalgia - this MBP was spending most of its active life at CERN, the particle physics laboratory near Geneva. Today I used it to watch a video of an event at CERN, the inauguration of its Science Gateway which took place on 7 Oct. Pay a visit to CERN or just watch part of this video https://videos.cern.ch/record/2298772, from minute 26 on is enough, partly in French and partly in English. From 1:15 is the speech of the President of the Swiss Confederation at this occasion - "vive la science, vive l'art, vive la culture".
Just hours after this inauguration which reflects CERN's vision and daily mode of operation of scientific progress, international collaboration, and education, things happened at Israel with opposite aims.

Hello hvds,

Thank you for update.

Running 14.1 RC on the MacBook Pro 5,2 which was installed OTA and patched with OCLP 1.1n from 10.15.23; functionally near-mirroring your experience.

Great effort by the developers.
___________

Thank you for the link. It was a measure of solace to observe science triumph in the face of war and unconscionable display of debased hatred, cruelty and wanton carnage, so evident in the world around us.

My laptop spent most of its productive life, and still does, in health care environment, in both, direct care and research.
An environment, which often affords a view of society at its best, and worst.
May I echo the phrase: "vive la science, vive l'art, vive la culture".

Hello.
I installed Sonoma with OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Trying to update to 14.1 beta it got stuck during installation and after forced restart it kept doing that. So I loaded recovery and restored from Time Machine. Now after Apple logo I have Bootkicker.efi, OpenShell.efi and Reset NVRAM options. Unable to boot.
How to get rid of OCLP?

MBA 7,2 (Early 2015) in place OTA upgrade from Ventura 13.6 to Sonoma 14.0 with OCLP 1.0.1. No issues and everything working fine on the initial checks. Everything was working great in Ventura, but FOMO finally got me to try on the machine easiest to wipe and try again if something went wrong. Thanks devs!

do the widgets work fine (can show texts/ not missing info) after installing OCLP 1.1.0n ? thank you for the future response
