You can try installing version 1.0.1 again, but before running the post install patches, do the "Revert the Root Patches" in the OCLP app.
On one hand, serious video and display corruption can be caused by hardware issues, as well as by OCLP (maybe).
In your case I would suspect the "hardware" first.
If you have a valid Monterey OS install you could try booting from that. JUst to see what happens.

Bad advise, see my last post.

The OP has a system that is now "Not Usable", with OCLP 1.2.1. I actually suspect that there is a hardware issue involved, because that display corruption came back after getting the system up and running again.
In this case, a clean install booting from a OCLP 1.0.1 USB may work best, wiping the target disk with Disk Utility.
Why do you think using OCLP 1.0.1 will make the iMac 13,1 non-bootable? Does that model have issues with Sonoma?
Or with OCLP?

Hi,
I have an iMac 13,1 (late 2012 with nvidia kepler gpu). It was running great with the latest Ventura and OCLP 1.0.1. No problem whatsoever. With the release of OCLP 1.2.1 I decided to do a clean install after years just upgrading macOS on the previous installed version. First I upgraded OCLP. Reinstalled root patches. After the iMac went idle for some time, there was this weird display corruption affecting the whole screen with black and white areas alternating the toolbar, windows and dialogs. So bad that I couldn't click on anything. That never happened before. But it was a very hot day so I thought it might have had something to do with it as the iMac was on for a long time. I shut it down. Later I started it again, everything back to normal. Then I created a Sonoma 14.1.1 installer disc using OCLP 1.2.1 and proceeded with a clean install. I successfully migrated my data using TM and here I am with freshly installed macOS with all my app.
Problem is: the display corruption happened again. This time it started in the browser window with text disappearing. Then the toolbar and black and white areas as I hover items. Has anybody experienced something like?
Might it be related to OCLP 1.2.1? If I downgrade to 1.0.1 including root patches, will Sonoma stop working?
I appreciate any feedback from the community. Thank you.
A clean-install of which OS? 🤔

Sorry, the system is usable in fact. The display corruption is not persistant like when there's a gpu failure (and I've been through it on another iMac). As I said the corruption happened twice since I installed version 1.2.1, once in Ventura and once in Sonoma. In both cases a restart brought the display back to normal.

Have a new problem.
2013 21.5” Imac (14,1) with Sonoma 14.1.1 and OCLP 1.2.1. Now, Preview and Acrobat reader will not stay open. Additionally, Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome will not load. Internet checks good. Reset NVRAM-no luck.
Anyone else see this burb, and if so, were you about to fix it?
Jim

Have you tried the Public beta Sonoma 14.2 b3? fixes several irritating bugs in 14.1.1.

Don't even try, seriously, you'll end up with an un-bootable system.
I tried this to see whether i can fix the login loop issue. There was no difference on this 9.2 here. No matter which version I used to unpatch / patch the system it was bootable. The latter, i believe, depends on the patched EFI and blessed Snapshot though.

Has anyone encountered this bug yet?

I think, that only occurs on the google search page, on safari.
The font switches to to another font on hover, and even if not hovered it has some weird pixelization.
I have already tried deleting cookies and disabling all extension- but didn't helped.
It only seems to happen if it concerns a Google result that is displayed first with subtitles.

I have not. In fact I have never tried a ‘beta’ upgrade. Always let you more knowledgeable folks do that.
Do I download it from OCLP (create installer) via USB?
thanks in advance.

I think your instincts to avoid betas were right - as many folks here would agree. Sonoma 14.2 will be with us soon enough.

I actually think the 14.2 beta 3 update is bad - at least on Intel systems. I have several apps that make the CPU ramp up to 100% if running in 14.2 beta 3. And my guess is that this is the reason a new update hasn't been released for some time now.

14.2 Beta 3 works as well as any of the 14.2 Betas on MBP6,2 patched with OCLP 1.2.1. With OCLP, it continues to be a mistake to make blanket statements about macOS / OCLP performance when individual results will depend on Mac Model, use cases and apps. Still best to test and make one's own determination. Currently very happy with 14.2 Beta 3, but that's just my experience and does not guarantee another's.

EDIT: CPU utilization at idle and CPU fan activity remain low on my MBP6,2 running 14.2 Beta 3 (23C5047e) patched with OCLP 1.2.1 (Release).

On my Mac I face various annoying bugs. Of course still those graphic issues after sleep mode. This somehow seems to be related to the password request after wakeup. I see less issues after deactivating the password request. Sometimes - I could not recognize any pattern yet - videos on Facebook, IG, YT, etc. will only play after a restart of my machine. I hope all these issues can be solved with the next MacOS and OCLP updates. Otherwise I might consider to return to Ventura...

Install beta versions (macOS or OCLP) if you NEED it:
- you are a developer who needs to prepare its app for the next OS
- you are an IT professional who needs to validate OS before corporate deployments (OCLP is certainly not used for such activity)
- you are an active beta tester able to handle problems yourself and fill bug reports (don't send bug reports to Apple if you use OCLP)
- you are a "normal" user who knows that a specific important issue is fixed for him in a beta

Otherwise, stay away from the betas, and it's even more valid when you add a beta OS on an unsupported hardware.
The best advice when using OCLP is to wait for OCLP team "GO" before upgrading the OS. Very often, they have to fix some small problems when a new OS release comes.
Going from 14.1.1 to 14.2 won't change your life, you will probably not notice any difference ...
So, be patient.

... or, ignore all the advice to stay away from Betas and test Betas in a way that won't risk your production APFS volume. And don't be surprised if the Beta disappoints in some way.

If you don't know how to test Betas without risking your production macOS volume and you can't accept the risks or recover from the failure, then you probably shouldn't be testing.

If I didn't test Betas, watching the Sonoma/OCLP paint dry would be boring.

With newest OCLP 1.3.0n (2023/11/18) on macOS 14.1.1 finally no more Wifi Agent crashes on MP5,1 😍👍 (and no 1.2.1 and 1.3.0 are not the same ;-)

You are right 1.3 and 1.2.1 are not the same.
The version number is different and 2 typos in a documentation file have been fixed 🤓
They have replaced « those entires » by « those entries »
Huge difference
Not only I had a lot of WiFi Agent crashes with the last 1.2.1 and old 1.3.0n also - this is fixed now ;-) even when it is not in the changelog at the moment…
