does anyone know if apple tv works on mp 5.1 with gtx 680?
Apple TV works fine on my iMac 14,2 with GTX780M card (Kepler series like yours). Broadcasting movies from Mac to my 4K Apple TV almost 10 meters away also works fine, via AirPlay.

AirPlay from YouTube iPhone to iMac, on the other hand, with Sequoia 15.0.1 and OCLP 2.0.2 works randomly and I don't understand. Some videos, in fact, play fine on the Mac and many other videos, however, show a gray screen and a ban sign. A real mystery.

As I explained before, in my iMac TV.app works perfectly. I just checked. Maybe because my CPU is i7 and the GRX780M video card has 4 GB of VRAM?... I don't know.

I'm a rolling stone.
What machine, macOS version, OCLP version? Since we are not mind readers your question is impossible to answer without these simple facts.

The answer is no, on my machine, details of which are in my signature spoiler.
Sorry, forgot about that:oops:, Mac Mini, latest macOS Sequoia, latest OCLP, but had it with earlier versions as well.
I should try on a new User account, it's a systemwide problem if that does not help, such strange behaviour, keyboard reset does not work, SMC and PRAM also don't work.
I might install on a different partition, see how that goes.

My Apple keyboard does have the same behaviour, I didn't use it for a while, thought it was broken, I have two, the other one has a section that does not work, faulty. (8, 9, 0, I, O, P, J, L, N, M, and the , don't work.

Another macOS 15.1b6 upgraded atop 15.1b5 OTA (itself upgraded atop 15.0. OTA), OCLP 2.0.2:
Capture d’écran 2024-10-12 à 21.19.52.png

Again performance delta is rather unnoticeable but slightly downwards (2% since 14.0) on GB6.
GB6 (multi-score) • 1675 (15.1b6) <- 1690 (15.0) <- 1705 (14.6) <- 1709 (14.0)
GB5 (multi-score) • 1419 (15.1b6) <- 1421 (15.0) <- 1395(14.6) <- 1422 (10.15.7)
Now, I've got one kernel panic this morning waking up from sleep on 151b5 before the upgrade, and 2 freezes forcing shutdown (guess also kernel panic) with 15.1b6 since. If this keeps going I'll maybe try to reinstall from scratch at 15.0 (or rather wait for 15.1 release) as I did for my non-metal machine, as this one was instead OTA'd from 14.6 to 15.0.

Hello to all,

Did not have chance to install 15.01 or 15.1 beta6 until now (vacation).

iMac 13,2 late 2012, 27” with original internal fusion 1T HDD and an external Evo SSD 1TB.

Used OCLP 2.1 nightly (10.5.24 version). I did enable “all feature-unlock” in OCLP settings, and made sure to select appropriate Mac model (13,2) in Host Machine settings. Default heading read “Host Machine”, but when changed to actual machine code (iMac 13,2) the choices in other OCLP selections were different.

Installed OCLP onto the disk before initiating OS update.

There was difficulty in initiating updates OTA; it required multiple attempts to finally succeed (seems “update function” kept crashing [a supposition]). Eventually OTA update to 15.1 Beta 6 (fover resident 15.0) did complete.

A possible other solution to OTA update problems is to boot into Safe Mode and then initiate update(?)

After multiple automatic restarts, machine booted into functional desktop. Applied OCLP 2.1 patches and graphics were fully accelerated. Continuity functions, including iPhone-as-webcam and mirroring, were fully available. No problems with handoff or iMessage functionality.

MacBook Pro 5,2 2009 17” with SSD (Evo). (Non-metal). [used mostly for experimental “endeavors”]
Updated to 15.1 beta 6 OTA. Used OCLP 2.1 nightly to install open core, before updating the OS.

Again, changed the heading in the OCLP (via “settings” section) to MacBook Pro 5,2, since default heading was “Host Machine”. When changed to MacBook Pro 5,2 heading, choices available for modification were different than under Host Machine” heading. I further did select full feature-unlock option and Firewire booting. Installation proceeded as described above for iMac. Once the post-install patches were applied there was graphics acceleration. Hand-off, screen mirroring and iMessage were fully functional.

It took some time for machine to become fully responsive after system installation; stem activity showed a great deal of “clean-up” activity along with XprotectRemediator scans.

Once above was completed system became very responsive and fully usable.

Great work by developer teams.

Sequoia 15.1b6 (24B5070a) with OCLP 2.1.0 nightly build from 5 Oct running well on these two machines:
MBP11,1 (external SSD, internal still on Sonoma) and MBP5,2 (internal SSD, machine used for testing only).

Thank you to the developers and to RogueB for the report.

Since updating to macOS Sequoia, I've noticed that my bookmarks are no longer syncing between Safari on my Mac and iPhone. I've already tried disabling and re-enabling iCloud on both devices, and while photos and other things sync perfectly, bookmarks just won't sync.
I am also still seeing this on all my 15.0.1 and 15.1b Macs with OCLP 2.0.2 and later.
It looks like people on supported Macs also see this to some extent so probably not a OCLP issue.
My main Macs are rMBP 10,1 and MBA 7,2 and both have this issue on 15.0.1 and 15.b.
It is just the bookmarks that do not sync, so no favorites. iCloud Safari tabs and all other iCloud synching appears to work. Also works between iOS 18 and the Sonoma Macs using same OCLP but not Sequoia. Have done the deleting of plists and regular stuff suggested in this thread with no results. No biggie, hoping it will perhaps be resolved with 15.1 and OCLP 2.1.
Is it working for anyone on the 15.1 betas?
15.1 should be released on Oct 28 according to Apple so maybe wait for that.

Safari bookmarks not syncing here. I just tested it, had not noticed before. Macs are rMBP10,1 (unsupported) & MacMini8,1 (supported), both on beta 6, the rMBP has OCLP 2.1.0n on it.

I tested it in both directions, i.e. creating a bookmark on one m/c and checking on the other one. Neither direction synced to the other m/c.

In the meantime my workaround will be creating bookmarks on the supported Mac only, in the hope that syncing starts working again in the future.

I'm also syncing the Desktop + Documents folders, that's working as expected. But I did have to re-enable it on the rMBP in Sys Settings > Apple Account > iCloud > Drive > Desktop & Documents Folders at one point after a recent update when nothing showed up on the rMBP's desktop. Apologies for not mentioning that at the time.

Same for me, did not notice it until I started using another Mac..no need to apologise ;-)
As mentioned, looks like many supported Macs have this issue too. Hopefully fixed in 15.1...

From Ventura to Sequoia OTA.

Upgrade of OCLP to 2.02 and installed Sequoia 15.0.1 on MacBook Pro 11,5, Mid-2015.

Root patches

- Graphics: Intel Haswell

- Graphics: AMD Legacy GCN for AMD Radeon R9 M370X

- Networking: Modern Wireless

- Miscellaneous: PCle FaceTime Camera

Went without a hitch.

Followed my checklist, inspired by several participants in this thread and with some personal twists:

- [ ] Turn of FileVault. (Not sure if this is necessary)

- [ ] Remove LittleSnitch

- [ ] Connect to Ethernet

- [ ] Upgrade OCLP and Root patch.

- [ ] Restart. Reset NVRAM.

- [ ] Hit alt when booting after NVRAM

- [ ] All OK? Remove root patches. Say NO to reboot.

- [ ] System settings > Software Update. Start installation. Check that OCLP downloads KDK and MetalLib. Wait for the mac to reboot on its own.

- [ ] Install Root patches when booted with new system

- [ ] Restart. Reset NVRAM

- [ ] Hit alt when booting after NVRAM

Tested:
ssh
Apple Remote Desktop
Adobe Photoshop

Edited .disk_label.contentDetails as root after rename in Disk Utility. No need to disable SIP.

Yes, hard to tell where the point of failure is. If I were a betting man I'd bet a dollar that it's in the Sequoia / iCloud interactivity.

In Safari go to Start Page, after scrolling down completely, click on the small Edit button on the lower right side and select what you's like to sync, will work like a charm then.

Hmm. Thanks for reply but I don't believe that has much to do with synching to iCloud and is only there to set showing stuff in the start page section. Am I wrong?

For me, 'use start page on all devices' made all the difference...

Ok thanks again. Does not appear to work here on my Macs or change anything.
Synching is already set and iCloud tabs still work but no favourites are synched.
May I ask across what devices your synch is working? iOS to a Sequoia beta with OCLP or between OCLP Macs?

MacBook Air 2013 11 inch update from MacOS Ventura 13.7 to Sequoia 15.0.1

I updated a MacBook Air 11 inch 2013 Haswell 1.3 GHz Core i5 with 8GB RAM and 500 GB SSD, from an OCLP 2.0.2 patched MacOS Ventura installation. This was an in-place update using MacOS Ventura software update.

Issues after installation: Graphics glitches

The installation did go through but I had lots of graphics issues, background with trees not seen on desktop. I then tried applying the OCLP root patches but it did not patch everything. I noticed that this must have been the case that I had no internet at this time. At this time the display also was listed as unknown.

Then I did a reboot, no dock. I then waited for the internet connection over WiFi and re-applied the root patching again. This time it did the Haswell graphics, the WiFi and the Webcam and it took obviously a very long time.

Fixing issues by re-applying OCLP 2.0.2 root patches (again)

After the reboot I noticed all the issues were gone.

First impression:

Opening Safari takes about 3 seconds and the boot time takes about 58 seconds until the Sequoia background with the login prompt appears.

CPU fan is not audible during normal working tasks.

Opening the Weather app widget takes about 12 seconds and the animated clouds in the background can be seen. Apple maps also works.

What does your last line mean? (Edited .disk_label.contentDetails as root after rename in Disk Utility. No need to disable SIP.) Could you explain to a not so experienced user?

I have a similar set up---11,4 Mid 2015.

Do I need to follow all what you posted? I downloaded the metal Lib and am on 2.0.1...I thought I could simply OTA, reboot, install patches and metal lib....no?

My Boot disk was named Ventura. I changed the name in Disk Utility. That does not change the name in OCLP boot picker. I found the solution in this thread. https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...unsupported-macs-thread.2391630/post-32808755 thanks to @deeveedee

I use no external monitor.

The mac crashed tonight while sleeping.
Screenshot 2024-10-14 at 17.13.42.png

This morning when I discovered it would not wake I had to hold start down longer than normal. I got the startup apple and the mac panicked at once. In /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
there is a file Kernel-2024-10-14-090024.panic. I will look into it when I have time. Booted normal after that and after beeing turned off it booted normal now again. The mac has been rock solid on Ventura.
