I’m running Big Sur Beta 4 / Public Beta 1 on my 16’ MacBook Pro. I noticed some unusual sound from the touchpad, so decided to shut the MacBook down and power it on again. To my surprise, the touchpad remained clickable after the MacBook got shut down. Clicking the touchpad turned the MacBook on. I then tried shutting it down by holding the power button and got the same behaviour. I’m not sure if it’s new the beta 4 or some of the earlier betas, as I usually hibernate my Mac, and also not sure if it’s a bug or if it’s meant to be a feature, but I would assume that if my MacBook is turned off, everything will be off. It doesn’t make sense to me the touchpad to remain clickable.

Opening the laptop boots it. Pressing any key boots it. Pressing the touchpad boots it.

Loads of stuff seems to stay powered even when the laptop is ostensibly off.

Beta 4 working fine apart from Sharing issue.
I can connect to other Macs on my local network but they can’t connect to Big Sur machine. It is seen in Network but when I try to connect it fails to connect. Comes up with username/password window but does not accept correct entries.
Seeing problem with attempts to connect from Catalina and High Sierra systems. Both of these connected without a problem before the upgrade to 11.
Using command line I can ssh both ways without a problem.
Anyone else seen this?

I`m on the public beta and have the exact same issues with sharing folders from the Big Sur machine. As far as I know, there is no workaround yet. Seems to be a bug (possibly intended). ssh/sftp/screensharing works well ...
Lets wait for the next beta ...

I am having delay when I press the power button to boot up. It is like a 10 second delay after which I hear then start up chime. I am using a MBP 16 inch base model. It also happens if I turn on the auto boot after opening the lid. It takes around the same time to boot. I don't have any boot partitions or anything on my SSD. only one startup drive. Tried resetting PRAM/MVRAM and SMC. No luck. I am on Public beta 1.

iPhone sync still unusable. Can’t get two albums from photos to be transferred to the iPhone.
I can’t believe that a 2k Mac can’t sync with a 1k phone. If they can’t get this right why don’t they allow us to simply drag and drop photos on it then?

Anyone with the same issue?

Suddenly with Beta 4, the Notes app crashes every time. Have restarted, same outcome. Anyone experience this or, better yet, have a solution or workaround?
Same situation here. Notes opens fine but then a second or two later in crashes. I have submitted feedback.

Anyone else have issues when closing the lid and the next morning the laptop restarts instead of waking from sleep? quite annoying having all apps having to boot up again.

My 2015 iMac 4K had been running fine until beta 4. Now in addition to it being excruciatingly slow, it goes to sleep after about 5 seconds. I can’t get anything done.

I just wiped my entire disk and reinstalled fresh because I had this issue. I had a 22-second delay (always 22 seconds) until the boot logo if I opened the lid or pressed the power button. There was also a similar delay if the Mac had been asleep past the standby delay (default of 3 hours).

Upon reinstalling, I still have the delay. Now I find I am not alone.

Since the only issue I am having is with Notes... that crashes immediately upon opening... is there a way to redownload on the Notes Application? Thank you.

I'm using public beta 1. This happened today after opening the lid. Okay after restart. Does it look like a software bug or an early indication of impending Flexgate?

Like some others I am having trouble getting my macbook pro to boot w/ the public beta. I can log in to safe mode, but not normal mode. I've removed all startup items and reset PRAM. Any ideas of other things to try? I guess I could try a clean install....

I've reported this in Feedback, although it says there are lots of similar reports. Hope everyone files one so they tackle it quick.

On the latest beta. Can’t get out to the internet on MacBook Pro over WiFi or Ethernet.

My fans are constantly running and cpu being taken up by kernelmanagerd, making the whole OS really unpleasant to use (Late 2013 15" rMBP)

When I logged in in safe mode on Big Sur I get a similar graphic issue, the whole screen got a strange yellow color and wrong resolution. It must be a bug because I can log in in safe mode with Mojave.
