[doublepost=1518399030][/doublepost]Hello fellows.

MacBookPro5,5 (13-inch Mid 2009) runs without problem at:
System version: macOS 10.13 (17A365), Kernel: Darwin 17.0.0, Disk:SSD120G.

10.13.3 integrated update makes "Safari and App Store not working." Others looks fine.

Much appreciate if someone give me the solution or suggestions,

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi everybody - I finally took up the courage and installed High Sierra 10.13.3 using dosdude1's method on an iMac 8,1 and it went great so far. Only thing that worries me is that I had three unexpected restarts in a week now - mostly while just browsing on the internet in FF Quantum. In the stack dump there were some hints to apfs related errors, so I figured I would just boot off of my install bootstick and run disk utility's first aid on the internal SSD, I recently installed. It yielded an error. When booting into the system again and trying to run first aid from there, it yielded the same error - only now I was able to get a screenshot.

Anyone any idea what's going on? Shouldn't I be able to run disk utility on the APFS SSD? Also I had just checked the SSD before moving over to High Sierra and evrything was fine before.

Thanks in avdance for any ideas on that matter!

Best, _ciz

Just a heads up guys, the latest version of EtreCheck no longer chokes when it finds dosdudes patcher.
Gotta love it when developers respond to user feedback.

How slow? I have two of these in my shop and I would say it's no more than 30 seconds if that for either of them to boot up. I wonder if you have something else going on with your system/configuration...?
It still has the original spinning disk- but a clean install takes more than a minute to get to the login screen. I have every OS from 10.5 through 10.13 installed on this drive and boot is pretty quick on the older releases.

I find with spinning drives anything with say 10.10 or later can be very slow. OTOH 10.6 for example is a speed demon but is useless with current software.

latest beta (10.13.4 Beta2 (17E150g)) running smoothly on my MBP4,1 17-inch.

Safari however still giving me a headache, since URLs can't be dragged from the address bar to the finder (works in other browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera).

Same problem in Safari Technology Preview version of the browser.

A solution to this, anyone?

You can install it if your mac meets the requirements. Pixelmator Pro requires a Metal 2 compatible GPU. What kind of GPU is in your Mac?

My GPU is a :
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2 Go

Thanks

According to this https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/nvidia-and-high-sierra-insanelymac.2068870/ maybe you need a more modern GPU. Maybe nVidia 900 series with Apple's original driver (nVidia Web drivers currently not supports metal2, so this is why 1000 series are not good (yet)). Radeons with Polaris GPU are also compatible, but newer Radeon drivers requires Nehalem or newer CPU so it's not a choice for you.

Ok !
I understand.
Many thanks for your reply.
[doublepost=1518976631][/doublepost]Now, back to my first question :

How to convert my SSD into APFS file format (actually HFS+) with DosDude installer ?

Many thanks for your replies

I have 13.4 beta 2 installed on a mb5.2 and it is running great with an ssd and 4gb ram. The only problem I have is the os doesn’t see my ft camera, it worked on 13.3 but not now.

Anyone any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks to dosdude

Today's 10.13.3 supplemental update to fix Messages crash with telugu character went without problems on MacPro 3,1 when run from Software Update

New member here, and I have a question.

I recently purchased an early 2008 24" iMac8,1 for $120. It's running El Capitan 10.11.6, has a 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo and I added a 120GB SSD, and 4GB of ram. Very fast and nice machine now with the SSD. I actually have it out in our living space for easy access from the kitchen to read recipes or play music.

I want to upgrade it High Sierra, but I can't seem to be able to find too much information regarding the install overall compatibility on the iMac8,1.

From what I've read, it seems that the internal WiFi adapter will no longer work. That's fine, I can get a USB one. But, I'm not successful in finding what internal module is actually compatible, if there even is one? Is there one that can be swapped out?

Does anyone know if there are any other issues on the iMac8,1 that will arise with High Sierra? My though here is that I don't want to upgrade, only to find out that is something bigger doesn't work that will cause frustration.

I've already prepared my USB drive with High Sierra, I just need to order the USB WiFi.

Thanks!

Everything should work just fine in the iMac 8,1, except the WiFi as you said. The card can easily be replaced with a compatible one, such as a Broadcom BRCM4322 or Atheros AR5BXB112. Here's a link to one on eBay that will work.
