Guys, hi! Please, give me link, which i can use to install HS with APFS. MBP mid 2009. Thanks!

For anybody having an issue with battery status/percentage not showing on their machine, I have found a fix for that issue. I'll also take this time to introduce a new feature of macOS High Sierra Patcher, "Patch Updater". This has been a default option in the post-install application for quite a bit of time now, but for those of you who don't have it installed, you can download an installer script here. This program will allow users to quickly and easily install new or changed/updated patches on their unsupported machines, without going through the hassle of checking themselves for new developments. The Battery Status Patch is the first one available through this updater.

HI i have used Hi sierra matcher sucessfully using beta 1 on a mid 2009 macbook. I can't get that update thing working . i see the check box on th epost install patch but can't access it ob the mac. have tried uploading updates from mac. some seem to work some don't the beta 2 seems to download and does nothing once it wrecked teh installation. I have a good bacup so if all goes wrong i can go back and do a reinstall and then restore from backup.

I think i may have got hold of a beta 4 not sure i will see when it downlaods and try again from scratch

another tip i can pass on when using post pater app after install i got a tack pad lock up using the options for this mac but various macbook pro worked but as others have found battery doesnt show.

looking for options

Just got this patch on my MacBook Pro 5,1 ! Thanks dosdude1 !
I am on DP 3, how do I "upgrade" to DP 4 ? I downloaded the .app here but the installer says my Mac is not compatible, any way to bypass the system verification or do I need to clean install the DP 4 with dosdude1's patcher ?

Slightly OT, but I know you fine folks here can give me an answer and/or point me in the right direction. Is it possible to convert to the APFS without installing 10.13?

I get beta 3 (17A291m) and beta 4 (17A315i) as well as info apple .....

What do you mean "without"? Do you mean "after"? If you mean you installed High Sierra without converting your HDD/SSD to APFS, you can convert it from Disk Utility in the Recovery partition, provided your Mac is fully compatible in the relevant beta. If it wasn't fully compatible yet, it might fail to boot when the conversion is over. If you mean if there is a stand-alone converter for macOS Sierra or Windows, I don't think so.

I have one supported MBP on 10.13 and APFS. The unsupported MBP 5,5 is humming along smoothly on 10.12.6 (thanks to the contributors on this forum). I am not sure how the file systems work and play together, particularly through iCloud. I do not plan to upgrade the unsupported machine until the dust settles (way too much work at this point) but thought I might get a jump on things converting the SSD to APFS. Let me know if I'm mis-thinking this or if there is a more appropriate place for this discussion. Thanks.

If you used hi Sierra patcher when using post patcher software try the profile of another Mac. I have a Mac book 2009 but tried v various MacBook Pro and they seemed to work. have tried beta one and 4

both work.

Just finished updating my MacPro3,1 to public beta2.

A. freemason has shared a link to beta 4 sfrom a clean site even though you have to guess the links as its Italian. the downloaded beta 4 is clean and installed fine on a 2009 MacBook with hi Sierra patcher
[doublepost=1501007118][/doublepost]Have just installed a beta 4 on a MacBook mid 2009 with Hi Sierra patcher. the battery indicator is back now but still no light control I use brightness slider a free app from App Store.

jbarley: were you able to get your startup disc converted to APFS? Is that even possible yet on a 3,1?
As far as I know it is not possible, but also of note is the fact that I have no desire to do so.

edit: as soon as I'd updated to Beta2, Beta3 arrived so I went and grabbed it.
All appears good so far.

Haha, with the exception of the graphics card, your system profile is the same as mine. Though I do have that card handy for when I need a boot logo.
Hello,

@dosdude1

I am running into a problem with my Mac Pro 3,1. It's Config:
  • Mac Pro 3,1
  • 3.2GHz - Intel Xeon Octa-Core
  • 12GB RAM
  • ATI Radeon HD 5770 hooked up to a Dell Monitor via MDP - HDMI.
  • Upgrade WiFI / BT Card (Broadcom BCM43xx)
  • Sonnet Tempo SSD Pro Plus PCIe Card with 2x 256GB DREVO X1 SSD's in a RAID 0
  • Sonnet Allegro Pro USB 3.0 PCIe 4 port card with four independent controllers for each port.
Using the last unsupported patcher, I had Sierra 10.12 absolutely screaming with that configuration. It nearly booted up as fast as my 2015 top of the line MBP 15". I figured I'd give High Sierra a shot.

I was able to create and install using an external USB Hard Drive. I rebooted off the Installer again and ran the patch on the new Boot Drive. I finally rebooted and I get three quarters through the boot process and it just hangs on a grey screen and I see a white spinning cog under the status bar freeze up.

I tried rebooting in Safe Mode and to my surprise it Booted. (The last stage of the boot sequence - where it froze booting - the screen changed from Grey with Grey Apple to Black with White Apple, Status bar and finished booting up. most everything works, except like indexing for spotlight, etc. I tried running the different terminal commends reboot and still freezes unless I use Safe Mode. One hypothesis of mine is it has to do with the RAID Card. El Capitan Disk Utility does not contain and RAID configuration software. ( or maybe it's the other sonnet USB 3.0 card?) I'm attaching my System Profiler Report Export. Any ideas?

****** UPDATE ***** I see now the not booting for my MP 3,1 is clearly Graphics related. However, there is still the issue of El Capitan Disk Utility not supporting RAID. I had to boot to a 10.12 installer, reformat the raid drive because I kept getting an error from the El Capitan DiskUtil saying it couldn't format the drive.

Thanks David

It is a problem with the GPU drivers. The MacPro 3,1 can be booted successfully in 10.13 beta 1 thru beta 4 using the HD2500 XT but not as fas as we know with the HD5870, HD5770, or any later GPUs like the RX460, although there are reports that the RX570 and RX480/RX580 are OK. Read higher up in this thread and you'll see other examples of this problem.
[doublepost=1501055456][/doublepost]I installed beta 4 this morning but have the same problem with only being able to boot into 10.13 using the RX460 GPU with Safe mode. However, unlike beta 3, beta 4 shows the PCI parameters with the following screen where the RX460 is clearly identified correctly BUT the frame buffer seems to be generic as RadeonFrameBuffer. Could this be the source of the problem? As far as I can see, the relevant AMD kexts from 10.13 beta all include the correct ID. Notice also that the bus is seen as PCI and not PCIe.
Any ideas how to fix this irritation?

So I have Public Beta 2 installed via the latest version of dosdude1s patcher app, I am enrolled in the Public Beta programme. So with PB 3 now available I checked through the App Store, but no update is forthcoming.
So what am I missing.
Grateful for any ideas.

You need to replace dodude's SUVMMFaker.dylib in usr/local/lib with another version from czo on this forum that will download updates.

So the update finally appeared in the App Store. Now the update downloaded, the mac restarted, black screen with white text approx 17 mins, after about 2 minutes the progress bar started making rapid progress completed 100% restarted
Still on Beta 2. Oh heck, what to do, I can see all the individual packages in the Updates folder, what can I do with them rather than download again.

Ta

Finally got updated to HySteria Public Beta 2 now the Nightabler app won't work, it will install and when I open System Preferences> Displays Night Shift is there, but once logged out or restarted going to the Display preferences results in an error where Display preferences couldn't be opened, was working ok in PB 1.
So will I have to do it all manually through terminal and a hex editor, I cannot remember how to do this.
Bother......
Ideas.......
I posted the new offset so you can edit it manually

The build number that is shown in your screenshot is for PB 1.
