That's not an issue with High Sierra or the patch, but rather a hardware issue with your machine. Reseat all the DIMMs and both memory risers, and see if that helps at all.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have indeed 3 faulty ram bars...
It just has been a coincidence that it happened around the time I upgraded to 10.13

I'm just about to bake the faulty RAM int the oven! Maybe, just maybe, this will fix it!!

Thanks for the suggestion, but this didn't work.

This option worked for me:

Why not use the system provided tool? `sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Seeding.framework/Versions/A/Resources/seedutil enroll DeveloperSeed`

I have since updated all recent beta updates.

BTW. After updating beta's may need to install/Run Automation, from Onyx v3.8.8
Any issues you have will be resolved.....such as Safari, Mail, App Store and iTunes will work as expected.

I've just made some major changes to macOS High Sierra Patcher! The entire pre-installation process (creating patched installer drive) has been re-written, and should now have a much better success rate! It also now supports using an internal drive as the patched installer as well. Link has been updated on my webpage.

I tried reproducing this issue last night on my early 2009 iMac but was unable to do so, mine seems to functioning properly (for the time being).

Interesting. I still can't get the brightness setting to stick after waking from sleep. Wonder if it's my particular hardware config. Here's my iMac:

One workaround I found that seems to be working is an app (from the app store) called Brightness Slider. It's light and seems to hold the brightness setting after waking from sleep. It also allows for much dimmer levels, well below lowest default settings, which might be helpful when working in the dark.

Thanks. Tried this also but with same results, no OS updates shown. I have a MacPro 3,1 with Apricot pcie sata3 ssd, ATI flashed to Mac video card, but otherwise, nothing special. I'm going to update it by editing the distribution.xml file in a 10.13.1 update file as mentioned in a thread above. Thanks again.

I can't quite believe it, but it actually worked!! I wrapped the 3 faulty RAM bars in tin foil and baked them at 280°F/140°C for 45min at let them cool off. Today the old workhorse is running strong again with all it's 32GB of memory!! :D

I used to do that with my faulty GT 8800 card. Quite amazing! Though over time the fault has come back again and again, so take that as a warning that the fix might not last.

HI all have had a Hi sierra running on my mid 2009 macbook and actually had f keys sound and brightness working. have just got the first automated update from mac and the functions now don't work any ideas. have used dosdudes updater tool and no new updates available yet. Are you working on that yet mate?

This is great news. What should I do if I already installed High Sierra using version 2.4.0 of your patcher? Does it have something to do with the custom bootloader as well? Or with APFS? If so, how can I update the current setup to your latest one?

What are the advantages?
Thanks!!

You don't need to worry about anything. It only changes the method with which the initial installer USB drive is created.

Anyone with Mac Pro 3,1 on 10.13.1? Do you audio drivers work with your external speakers? My audio is currently being on mute. Audio works only with bluetooth currently, I'm stuck with a mute Mac Pro :'( Please help a brother out.

Yes, it works fine. Check your settings (Output = Line Out).

Anyone update to the public beta 10.13.2 available in the app store? Any issues?

What if we installed with one of the older updaters, prior to support for encrypted boot drives? What's the process for updating so I can convert my boot disk to APFS?

If you want to use Encrypted APFS, just create a new USB installer with the latest version of the tool, boot from it and convert your drive to AFPS with Disk Utility, then apply the APFS patch in the post-install tool.

Awesome. Now if you can get Polaris support added back in, I'll give you a big kiss.

Thanks for all your work on this project. I upgraded a sierra installation which worked fine and then I decided to upgrade my SSD to APFS. Everything coverted fine but when I ran the bootloader, it said "boot file not found". When I hit option on startup, I see the EFI volume and my USB drive but not the APFS drive. I do see the drive in disk utility and I installed High Sierra on another drive and can access my files on the APFS drive. I just cannot get the bootloader to find the "boot file". This is my info of the APFS drive with High Sierra installed but cannot boot into. This drive is the only drive with one partition when the bootloader runs. Thanks for your help.

Can you run "diskutil list" in Terminal, and post the output?

Ok, I see why... For some reason, it didn't create the Preboot volume like it was supposed to when you converted the volume to APFS... You may just have to back up your data, format your drive as APFS, then re-install.

Ok, is there anyway I can resize the SSD partition and create a small 50GB partition to install High Sierra on APFS or HFS? I would like to use the migrate feature to move my installation over and backing up 300GB onto an old / slow drive is something I would like to avoid.

I had asked earlier but was wondering if any other have experienced the same issue.

But since updating to high sierra on my 2009 iMac I've noticed that every day, once a day, my time machine seems to perform a backup of approx 174gb. Once its done that backup, it does the small incremental backups again.

Never had the issue on the previous Sierra release on my unsupported mac.

Im a litte confused as to why this is happening? Any advice?

Sorry for delay. I am on Version 10.13.2 Beta 2 (17C67b). Ran Automation/Onyx and no issues encountered after running Onyx.
