Noticed a bug in 18A389 (might be a safari 12 bug though) : when you are downloading a file, and click on the little cross in the Downloads stack (for example), it used to put the partial file in the trash.
Now, it still puts it in the trash but only partially (a partial 9 KB file is still there, with the Info.plist metadata).

Has anyone else had an issue with the Dock popping up over full-screen Spaces when switching from one Space to another in Mission Control? It's incredibly annoying, and hard to reproduce; I'm wondering whether it's my setup or a bona-fide bug.
I have this exact same problem with Beta 11, I use full screen apps a lot and it’s very annoying indeed. I also have a lot of random stuttering when using Mission Control when my Mac is hooked up to my 4K monitor, I’m restoring a High Sierra backup right now and will try Mojave again after one or two point releases. I’m on a Mid 2015 15” MacBook Pro by the way.

My main reason to try Mojave was Dark Mode, but I’m actually a bit disappointed by it. For some reason I think it’s actually too dark, almost feels like I’m getting slightly depressed when using it :)

Hi
Messages apps quits when I hit the X button and I have to re-open it every time, sometimes it quits after a minute or so and it quits right after I hit X; is there anyway that I can stop it from quitting every time?

No, that's the way macOS works. A app can inform the system that it can be closed if there isn't any open window.
Actually I think there is a hidden preference you can change to disable this behaviour… mmm… probably http://osxdaily.com/2012/05/15/disable-automatic-termination-of-apps-in-mac-os-x/

Thanks, it worked. now the dot indicator for open app disappears from Messages app but when I hit the icon it open instantaneously! somewhat different to what I was previously used to, before Mojave the indicator dot stayed there unless in quitted the app.

Anyone else able to add an internet account and not have it removed? In particular I am adding an Exchange account using the Microsoft login option. After a few minutes with it open in Mail, the account disappears without an error.

I've reported this to Apple already.
I'm experiencing the same issue.

Installed the last public beta today for the first time and migrated over my 10.12 system minus user. In 15 minutes between finishing installation and working my way through preferences, I’ve found close to a dozen problems ranging from ugly UI polish regressions to cascades of broken dialog boxes to reproducible kernel panics.

This junk is still a solid two months of steady bug fixes away from GM quality, which is pretty much as I feared and expected.

u do realize that your experience is unusual? try reinstalling, for example. what mac is this? perhaps a drive issue, and the new OS write is damaged. anyway, start a thread, get some help here, the best use of this forum...

I know what I'm talking about. This, on the other hand, is cargo cult gibberish.

What machine are you on? On my old machine, a Late 2013 15" MacBook Pro with an install dating back to 10.9, I observed none of the above issues. Ditto a Late 2017 MacBook Air I had for a temporary replacement while the former machine was being inspected by Apple, and which was upgraded from the default install of 10.13. Do you have any AV software installed? What examples of UI regression have you experienced?

For me at least, 10.14 is the smoothest macOS has been for quite a while.

Anyone else noticed that Mac Pro 4,1 / 5,1 cannot wake up correctly from sleep with 18A389 ?
This must be a bug.

In addition, some Carbon apps crash at launch, even as the Carbon.framework came with Mojave..

iTunes won't open after updating, just crashes.

No updates showing in new App Store even though before update install 3~ were showing.

Two finger tap on a link for context menu beachballs Safari every time without fail for 5-10 seconds.

Random beachballs everywhere else.

I've never complained about a macOS release since first owning one in 2012 but this one isn't giving me great first impressions in all honesty.

not sure what 'cargo cult gibberish' is, but what you're experiencing vs what most other users report here is very different... so perhaps think it thru, and start a thread, and ask for help. just a suggestion

Quite a few graphical glitches

1. 1px invisible border is back, i think on HS it was gone but before it it was present

2. Finder glich

3. Stock app text to dark

4. Same goes with Calc

5. When opening Screen Saver the background of image browser takes less then a second to change from dark to greenish/dark

6. Reducing transparency does not really seem to work for Sidebar

7. Some apps i guess that are not fully supported for Mojave showing white line

8. Another bug.. when click-in on Help and search looks ugly

9. When in lock screen with transparency disabled wall papers are in high contrast mode. Note sure why apple decided this looks ugly. Just give as a normal wallpaper without any added effects

So i've upgraded from HS and i have disabled Transparency for those who are wandering.

Apart from these bugs i do notice more smother UI at-least for now.

I've just installed; Upgrading from High Sierra, and my trash is still called...trash! I thought Mojave had localisations for UK English and this would be called 'Bin'?

Sound bug with Beats Solo: after the patch, one side of my headphone produces louder sound, while this does not happen when I connect it to my phone or when I use EarPods

My current background is red. I have already enabled "Reduce transparency" but several windows still show an annoying red tint.

I don't know what to do about it. I don't like the way it looks

That has nothing to do with transparency. That's a feature of dark mode picking up a tint from your background. It was in the keynote.

I'm very impressed with my update experience today. I expected problems because of the new format for fusion drive, but the installation took less than an hour from beginning to finish - one of the quickest update I had since I have a mac (2016) and so far, no issues in my end compared to last year when I had many issues with High Sierra until the 10.13.1 update.

Very pleased so far.

In Finder: renaming a file will fail if the filename in the window has a sufficient length to break into multiple lines during editing (displays an ellipsis in the middle indicating this) and is visually adjacent to the bottom bar.

If editing a filename creates a text box with a second line and this visually covers the bottom bar of the Finder window (to display all of the filename without the ellipsis), it will drop you out of the edit, as if you confirmed the edit. If you have paths enabled (View > show Path Bar) then it glitches on a filename covering the path bar.

Stretching the window to allow for more space (the editing view stays on one line) makes the problem go away. Adding more files below the current file and scrolling up (if there are more files below) also fixes this.

Essentially, editing is blocked if the editing of the filename visually leaves a specific part of the Finder window.

Anyone else have this?

"Reduce Transparency" is also causing issues for me. It's most noticeable with the Light Theme where my desktop background seems to bleed through other windows. If I open Spotlight Search on top of an app, it will render my green desktop background as the Spotlight background ... same with searching in finder, and in help text on hover. Seems like a bug as this does not happen with Reduce Transparency unchecked.
