I was trying to decide on upgrading or installing to an external SSD on my 2015 MacBook Pro. I think that I'll just do a clean install as my new MacBook Pro is running fine on it. I plan to give the 2015 MacBook Pro to my wife and it would be best with a clean install. She just does email, web browsing, watching videos. She only recently expressed a desire for a laptop. She has a 2018 mini which she uses most of the time.

Has anyone tried Parallels 15 and gotten it to work?
On their website is says only Parallels 17 is compatible , but I’m hoping that isn’t the case.
I bought 15 last year and it seems to be early to have to upgrade.
On the other hand, I haven’t booted up a parallels VM for months, so I probably won’t miss it. And there is always Virtualbox

You can also use VMware Fusion Player for free (for personal use). https://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/fusion-evaluation.html Of course, not the same as Parallels but might be better than Virtualbox. then it's not yet been updated specifically for the silicon chip, and needs rosetta2 to run. install rosetta, & you should be fine.
DiskWarrior fails to launch. It fails to communicate with required system software. I tried reinstalling DiskWarrior, but the problem remains. I still use the app to optimize directories for my HFS+ external drives.
Was working fine on my MacBook during the betas. But just checked on my newly updated iMac - VeraCrypt crashes. Thanks for the heads up - I will follow your steps to fix. it.
System Preferences/ Display/. No HDR support after update from Catalina
HDR was working fine with Catalina on my 2020 16" MackBook Pro with my 2021 LG 40" 4k tv using an apple USB-C Digital A/V Multiport adapter. Now the HDR option is missing after updating to Monterey official release.

It should work, but you have to leave SIP disabled (as in Big Sur). For me that was not acceptable, so I switched to ForkLift, which has most of the functions of XtraFinder - and actually does a couple of things XtraFinder can't. Although I like XtraFinder and used it for several years, I find ForkLift a good replacement, which only requires a slight change in your workflow.

That's not an M1 though is it? I think that's where the non-compatibility of XtraFinder occurs 😞
As above I don't think XtraFinder works on M1 macs. Can I ask, does ForkLift enable Cmd-X to cut like XF does? That's the only reason I'm interested in either really.

Install XtraFinder
Update XtraFinder
Copy XtraFinder.app to directory /Applications
Uninstall XtraFinder
Boot to Recovery OS and enter the following command: csrutil enable

- Disable System Integrity Protection.
- Launch Terminal and enter the following command:
- sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.libraryvalidation.plist DisableLibraryValidation -bool true
- This command allows Finder (and all applications) to load arbitrary library.
- By default, Finder can load libraries signed by Apple only.
- Copy XtraFinderInjector.osax to directory /Library/ScriptingAdditions.
- Copy XtraFinder.app to directory /Applications.
Update XtraFinder
Copy XtraFinder.app to directory /Applications
Uninstall XtraFinder
- Delete /Library/ScriptingAdditions/XtraFinderInjector.osax
- Delete /Applications/XtraFinder.app
- Launch Terminal and enter the following command:
- sudo defaults delete /Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.libraryvalidation.plist DisableLibraryValidation
- Enable System Integrity Protection.
- Boot to Recovery OS by restarting your machine and holding down the Command and R keys at startup.
- Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu.
- Enter the following command: csrutil disable
- Reboot your computer.
Boot to Recovery OS and enter the following command: csrutil enable
Cmd-X to cut, Cmd-V to paste. Without XtraFinder you have to Cmd-C to copy, and then Option-Cmd-V to move. I prefer the former workflow, it's what I was used to on PCs and Macs for the last ten years.
I saw the compatibility with Big Sur, the problem appears to be with Apple silicon macs, not the OS.
