New Issues
(If you are encountering any issues, please press "Edit" on the bottom of this post and add it here)

Remaining Issues

  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
  • General Bluetooth reliability issues (mouse and keyboard lag, audio lag, audio distortion) with 3rd party and Apple accessories per reports on Reddit and elsewhere.
Untested Issues
  • Time Machine causes kernel panics - if you experience this issue either unplug the drive or set TM to run manually. NOTE - seems to be a beta 2 issue
Additional Notes
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 15 Sequoia will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 15 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 15, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.

How can we get the full package in order to create a USB installer? I updated my 2019 iMac OK from System Settings, but the Developer download page says 24C98 is for Apple Silicon machines. Thanks.

You could also use softwareupdate --list-full-installers, but it currently only shows beta 4 (24C5089c).

Anyone have image playground work for them? I can access it and set all the prompts but the done button doesn't work so I can't generate an image. Not sure if it's a bug.

How do i install this RC update? is this not available to the public? only to developers?

On another note, this is the first update I didn't have to re-permission extensions again after updating!
How do I install this update? Is it only for developers? I’m currently on 15.1.1 but I’m not a developer

And then change that setting:

Last time (Beta 4) it was in the App Store only for the first few days. And sometimes there isn't even a full installer for every beta/rc version. At the moment it is also only Beta 4 in the Store.

You can find it by just searching for macOS Sequoia Beta in the AppStore and then you see what version it is.

Thank you. That's good to have.

At least for me Mist never shows betas and maybe also not RCs although I have checked the box to show them.

There is a catalog where you can see if there is a download link to the installer package, but it is a little confusing to read. There isn't a link to the downloader package in it for now. But when its there you should also see it in Terminal or I could copy a direct link out of there.

Bit now I have to sleep first. :(

Open Terminal, then run "softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 15.2"
The thing on the Apple developer page is the IPSW files for the Apple Silicon Macs.

Thank you. I did that and it downloaded OK to my Applications folder. How do I know what version it is without installing it? I am assuming if I do try to install it, and it's not the version for my Intel iMac, then it won't install.

What I'm trying to do is create a USB installer with 15.2 RC, reformat my internal, install the OS and restore files and applications with Time Machine. I've done this several times since the first beta of 15.0, and after a couple of days Disk Utility will show snapshots with missing resource forks--whatever those are--and a corrupted space on the internal, which Disk Utility says it fixed, but it really didn't.

I've also had lots of other issues since 15.0 was released, and each version or beta seems to fix one. I'm hoping things get to the point where Sequoia runs fine, and I don't feel the need to go back to Sonoma. Since I'm running an Intel Mac, I know I won't have all the Apple Intelligence features, but Sequoia does a few things that I prefer over Sonoma.

Thank you again for your help.

As of right now, I would say this is the best version. Using an M2 Air with 16gb RAM. It's to the point I am going to turn off beta updates. I was getting sick of the spinning beachball.
Where do you turn off beta updates? I don’t have the ability to enable or disable beta updates in the software update menu on macOS like I do on ios 18

under software updates, click the "I" and you can toggle it off. Since this the the Release Candidate, you will just go back on the normal updates as they come through. If for some reason there is an update before the public release, turn beta updates back on, update to the new RC build, and then turn off again.
