What the application looks like running

I am curious, anyone want to speculate how this would have run on a 2019 Mac Pro if Apple would have let AI run on Intel systems? Presumably the former with a W6900X wouldn't be slower than an M1/8GB. Not that anyone who bought a Mac Pro new did so for Genmojis or anything like it...

sounds uber productive. How have we made it this far without Genmoji...This is something we all need, so glad  has been working on this. The office work flow is going to be off the Richter scale! Bring it on!

Meanwhile Tags doesn't work properly on the Finder Sidebar. Airdrop won't show up on the Sidebar. External SSD connected randomly disconnects... but Apple is working hard on Genmoji! :p

Don't forget my 'favorite'...

5 generations of macOS now and still not debugged. Maybe next year. I miss "just works" Apple.

I'm just trying this on my MacBook M1. (I don't have iPhone 16.) For some reason, when I want to base one on a person in my Photos, only about half of the people I have identified shows up as available for Genmoji.
The rest are probably filtered out due to a Safety filter.

I'm thinking it would probably run like a dog. I only have access to Image Playground on my M1 Max, but I imagine it works in a similar way to Genmoji. The M1 Max is a capable machine, but takes a number of seconds to generate an individual image from the description provided. Since you likely want to have about 10 candidate images to choose from, a slower machine would get a little tedious if you're in the business of refining the generation multiple times.

NB, I've found it to be quite good fun at creating cartoon images of my friends.

Hopefully there will be a way to totally delete this "Image Playground", "Genmoji" and other crap that I do not want taking up space in an iPhone or iPad or my computer. Thankfully right now I'm spared from it since I haven't bought new Apple devices in a while but I know that when the time comes to buy a new iPhone, iPad or Mac that this useless to me garbage will be included in them.

Fine, I don't want those stupid emoji/memoji/genmoji apps, so OK, I don't have to activate them, but seriously, it is irritating to think that when I buy something new from Apple that this crap will still be taking space in my devices or computer that I would much rather be using for storing and utilizing with items that are significant to me on a frequent and ongoing basis. After all, it's going to be MY device, MY computer.....

The Image Playground app can be deleted. The AI models that power it, Genmoji, and other AI features don't get downloaded until you opt into Apple Intelligence.

I dont even understand what this is. Ive never used an emoji and now we have a genemoji? What exactly is the point of this?

Most of the IOS 18 and Mac OS Sequoia features are useless for most of us, Image playground was the first app I deleted on my IPhone after playing with it for 5 minutes, all it did was draining my battery and made the phone hot, and Siri still the same since 2010
It seemed at first when Apple demonstrated some of the Apple intelligence features in early summer to be useful. Now as they are rolling out, they all seem very underwhelming and useless for the most part.

They're glorified smiley faces made to look like you. I simply never understood the motivation to go beyond established textual smiley faces we're all familiar with since 1976.
