Mac user since 1989. With Tahoe beta 2, my 2019 i9 MBP became unusable. Safari, Mail, Notes, TextEdit, Zoom and others were crashing upon launch. Impossible for me to fix. Countless messages to Feedback, not one answer. In desperation, I explained the issues to Perplexity who said Reset the Font Book. Wot? How could that fix this issue? I never even knew that you ciuld reset the Font Book. Found the button, Reset, restarted the MBP, and everything is now fine. I am gobsmacked. Such a totally non-obvious simple solution.

Feedback is for letting Apple know about bugs. Unfortunately, it's not for support. They are unlikely to respond, and if they do it will only be to ask for more info, or to say it may be fixed in a later beta, even if they know there's a manual fix or workaround.

There have been posts on here about apps crashing and that resetting the user fonts fixes the issue. I believe the posts here on that topic were originally a cut/paste from a reddit thread.

I understand that many people using the betas aren't developers, but the crash logs (if one cares to look) do point to it being a font issue, although without the benefit of hindsight I probanbly wouldn't have spotted it!

I'm experiencing Mail and Notes columns gradually becoming wider. Reset it and over time it keeps creeping so it's wider. Sometimes the column listing emails or notes titles/subjects is wider than the content of the note/message.
In Sequoia, Mail keeps setting my columns back to unusable small widths since day 1. Whenever I go back ant forth between the inbox and concept folder, for example. Very annoying. Tried rebuilding folders, deleting mail preferences. I really hope this gets fixed. I found this thread while looking for a fix, for the n[sup]th[/sup] time.

BTW why is bb code for superscript not working?

Hoping for Beta 3 today with Safari black tab fix (and perhaps compact tabs coming back... can but dream) and the Mac App Store app updates working again. 🙏🏼

PS - We don't have a macOS 26 Beta Speculation Thread like iOS does, if people object to messages like this in the current beta bugs/changes thread we could set one up?

Don't know if it will be today but it "should be" this week.

Bit the bullet and installed beta 2.

Window titles are left aligned now, has this been mentioned?

Also, space bar isn’t mapped to quick look anymore. Quick look is still there, it’s just that space bar doesn’t activate it.

Edit: it started working suddenly now, I guess it’s a bug and not intended behavior.

There are always much less posts than in the iOS Beta threads. Maybe we could just speculate here too. These 10 pages now already is an exception because there is so much new and more bugs in this macOS version.

But you can make a speculation thread if you like. I am mostly just here and not in the news thread about the release. One thread is enough for me.

Oh! 🙃

This is the EXACT behavior that I have experienced and I too have filed feedback.
have you managed to find a solution to the problem??

After upgrading to macOS Tahoe 26.0.0 and 26.0.1, employees lose access to external networks when connected to the corporate VPN via Cisco AnyConnect with split tunneling. Access to internal resources remains intact.

The issue is reproducible for 10+ users running macOS Tahoe.

Users of other macOS systems (approximately 1,000) are not affected.

The issue is intermittent and can be temporarily resolved by one of the following methods:

Disconnecting the VPN session and waiting for ~10 minutes.

Resetting the network controller in macOS settings.

Updating Cisco AnyConnect from 4.10 version to 5.1.2.146 did not help.

The Cisco ASA configuration was not changed.

This quite detailed. Have you submitted this to Apple?

Especially because it’s involving business, I’m sure they’d like to know and address it very quickly.

Это довольно подробно. Вы отправили это в Apple?

Особенно учитывая, что это касается бизнеса, я уверен, что они хотели бы узнать об этом и отреагировать как можно скорее.

I do not know how to report this to apple so that they will definitely notice it.I created a message on discussions .apple. com
-----------------------

The cause hasn't been found, but there's a workaround.

When everything works, the default route is marked with the UGScg flag.
But at some random time, its flag changes to UGScIg, and if you were connected to a VPN, access to external networks is lost.

Solution:
sudo route delete -net default
sudo route add default 192.168.0.1 (your gateway on your home network)

Afterwards, it's marked with the correct flag and everything works, but there will be two routes listed:
default 192.168.0.1 UGScg en0
default 192.168.0.1 UGScIg en0

I - indicates that this is an interface route, but why it was marked this way at any given time is unknown.
