sure, and there are also others here not seeing a slowdown. 🤔

are you running any extensions? if you're on a macbook, can you try at another location? and is private relay on or off...

I only have the AdGuard extension installed, and it’s never caused any issues. Do you run the browser clean, or do you have any extensions enabled?
No, I don’t use Private Relay.

i've got 1blocker. try disabling adguard completely, see if it's any better (fwiw, 1blocker is a great alternative).

I'm experiencing Mail and Notes columns gradually becoming wider. Reset it and over time it keeps creeping so it's wider. Sometimes the column listing emails or notes titles/subjects is wider than the content of the note/message.

In Mail the middle column with the preview of the mails is about three times as wide as the mail itself. I change it always but after every relaunch of Mail it's back.

Alright, I’ll give that ad blocker a try and see if things get better. Thanks!

I would recommend the real system-wide AdGuard. Never had any problems with it. There were some crashes in the first beta but now it's running fine again. You also don't really need the Assistant browser extension because there is a build in one, that will just appear in the bottom-right corner of almost any browser, that is on a list where you can choose which browsers or maybe other applications should be filtered.

I found a Family Plan Liftetime Subscription for just $19 (incl. tax) and it is also making AdGuard on iOS to Adguard Pro if you login. It's for 9 devices used at once.

If you use a VPN I would test the trial first, if they work together. I can't recommend AdGuard VPN at the moment by the way. Because it's always crashing if you click the icon in the menu bar in macOS 26 Beta 2.

I got my license from here, it looks much more expensive now but there is a $24 discount code in the description. It's not really worth it to only get the Personal plan:

1Blocker also has a paid version. But it can't do that much and is only available as subscription I think. I always used it's TestFlight beta because you could "purchase" the paid version for free in there. But there is non at the moment.

You could also try completely free Crumblr or the free version of Bolt from the same developer. But you can only activate filter lists in the extensions and there is nothing else to control it. It's somehow like Wipr but free.

MacTracker just got an update using the standard folder color.

But why the heck Apple thinks this alarm red should be pink? You can see how real pink looks like because it's my accent color everywhere since I bought my M3 iMac.

So, back to dark (standard) blue for the folders. It looks best for me. I somehow like it more than the bright blue. That's a copy of my download folder on my Proton Drive. I gave it the same icon as the download folder in macOS 15.5. It did not change like maybe every folder that had an individually changed icon.

If I have folder colour set to “automatic”, and the theme colour set to “multicolour”, I get light blue folders in Finder windows, and dark blue folders pinned to my Dock.

If I set the theme colour to blue and leave the folder colour as automatic, I get dark blue folders everywhere.

Other theme colours have the folder colour follow the theme colour, as you’d expect.

If someone needs maintenance for problems, Onyx could help. There is a beta version for macOS 26 now:

Is anyone else using Downie for mostly YouTube and Twitch downloads? Some download formats that normally were no problem can't be played properly. It only works if you start it from the beginning and leave it play untouched without moving forth and back in the timeline, but if you do it just stops where it is and nothing happens. Most YouTube videos can be played normal, but some not and I had this problem with every Twitch download since Beta 1. And it's in every player I tried. Converting it to another MP4 format helps.

Also Downie is always asking twice for every download when you choose to ask every time for what format/resolution to download. It seems some downloads cancel after a few seconds and then it's asking again with a smaller list to choose from.

This also never happened in 15.5.

I don't write to developers anymore. They always seem to be annoyed if you report bugs. And answer always something like "you are doing it wrong" or don't even know what's my problem. Even if I am not using a beta OS. And I am always very friendly and explain the issues as exactly as possible. There are only a few ones left that get reports from me.
I'm not experiencing any of these issues with Downie. Guess I'm lucky.

Is there a way to filter out iphone apps on the new (and lame) launchpad replacement? Also, does anyone like it? I've submited a few please bring launchpad back and I seem to be the one report 😅

I finally uninstalled the AdGuard extension for Safari and installed the full version of ADGUARD, and the issue seems to be resolved. Websites are now loading much faster. I guess it was some kind of incompatibility.

Can somebody on this release test something for me? Can the Finder icon be relocated within the Dock?

In the latest 15.6 Beta 2, the Finder icon cannot be moved out of the first position with the Dock. I am trying to determine if this is a bug in 15.6B2 or if it's Apple's new way.

Thanks.

I just tested it too. It's not even in the Applications folder anymore. If it was before (not sure). There is also nothing in the Finder's and Dock settings to change it.

It's in /System/Library/CoreServices and you can make an Alias and put it in the Dock.

I just tried XtraFinder it doesn't work too in the Dock and TotalFinder is just changing the icon, Path Finder also doesn't change anything in the Dock.

Can't test QSpace, Network failure when clicking on Trial and also when on buy.

In Sequoia 15.5, I cannot move the Finder icon in the Dock, nor can I place anything to the left of it.

I somehow never tried to move it before.

The black lines are also in the latest Safari Technology Preview released July 1.

Standard Safari 26.0 WebKit build is: 21622.1.16.11.2

It doesn't have a version number anymore. It was always confusing anyway because the version number somehow was newer than the standard Safari after the final release of Sequoia. When a beta already had a newer version on Safari the TP kept the old version number but had a newer WebKit build number.

Son of a biscuit! I was positive that I had done this on previous releases, but I just checked two older systems (Mavericks and Sequoia) and it was not possible on either of them.

I apologize for my earlier semi-rant.

My first Mac came with Mountain Lion and I never really used it, but in Sequoia I started using it more and more. And I also never used Spotlight, I even turned most of it off. I only searched in Finder and now use another app for searches Finder can't do. But I still just mostly used the Applications folders in Grid view I pulled in the Dock.

Open Terminal in Utilities:

Code:
copy this into Terminal:

sudo mkdir -p /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain

press Enter

enter your macOS account password and press Enter

then copy this into Terminal:

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/SpotlightUI.plist SpotlightPlus -dict Enabled -bool false

press Enter

Restart your Mac.

If it disappeared from your Dock and isn't in the standard Applications folder like it was the case for me, you'll find it in System/Applications/Launchpad.app where all pre-installed Apple apps are located. Then just pull it in the Dock. After the first launch it should be in Applications too. At least I could swear it wasn't there before I launched it the first time.
