Glad to see safari tabs are now dramatically more 'understandable' then beta2. Obviously knew the state of safari tabs in beta2 was temporary (where all the tabs had a black underline except the active tab -- no other distinguishing characteristics), but it's refreshing to now have the visual presentation of the tabs make sense.

New (to me) bug on beta 3: Recent Items > Clear Menu doesn't clear the list of items. Restarting my MBA fixes the issue upon reboot, but it occurs again after using the machine for a little bit. Feedback filed (FB18722475).

Is there any way to disable the icons in the dropdown menus?
I would think if there was, it'd be an Accessibility Setting of some kind. TBH, though, this is something a lot of folks have been wanting for a long time, and probably something that will be evenly split 50/50 as to who wants it there and doesn't..

I'd suggest filing a Feedback with Apple listed as a Suggestion to add that as an option.

I just tried it, and it cleared everything. I restarted Finder and they stayed cleared.

One change I had, was that I got a warning when doing a TimeMachine backup that my old Western Digital network drive - connected to using AFP - would soon become unsupported.

The warning will actually block TM from working if you're attempting to create a new TM backup rather than adding to an existing one, which I was. I always create a new share on my drive for each new major macOS version.

I'd never paid attention to how the drive was connected, so I reconnected it using SMB and the error/warning went away.

apart from the visual refresh is there anything actually good in macOS 16 compared to macOS 15?

I assume you mean macOS 26, in which case: quite a bit. I suggest you watch the keynote as well as any number of YouTube videos out of folks going over the new stuff in macOS 26.

It seems even Firefox is changing the way their YouTube player will look like:

This is how it looks in the Beta and Developer version 141.0b8:

And this is the Nightly version 142.0a1:

Looks like Safari in this beta.

I installed the old Wacom drivers. The wacom Utility now opens, unlike before, but it doesn’t detect any tablet connected and it’s not working. Were you able to get it to work?
Yes, got it working. Did you do a full uninstall and reboot before you ran the old driver’s installer? There’s also a Wacom file in /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools you might want to try deleting as well, as it seems to be missed by the uninstalled.

The Music app in Tahoe continues with the fine tradition of messing with your equalizer settings, but now it's worse. With previous versions of macOS, sometimes the app wouldn't use your equalizer settings until you re-selected them from the Equalizer window, and usually this would stick, but sometimes your selection would later default back to Flat or something like it, instead of using the setting you selected earlier. Now, your equalizer settings are intermittently and unpredictably used, but more often not, even after repeatedly re-selecting them. This can't be that hard to get right.

Can someone tell me if I'm going crazy or missing something? On my screen, many apps have a red tint in dark mode. Is this new to Tahoe?

After 3 days of deleting everything I could… Safe Mode… this morning I finally decided to download the full installer and ran it… result: updated to Beta 3 version.

Check in System Settings -> Appearance whether ‘Allow wallpaper tinting in windows’ is enabled. If it’s enabled, turn it off and the windows should change to their neutral colour.

It’s been a thing since Dark Mode was first introduced, and extended to light mode as well in Big Sur.

This doesn't look normal. I only see black and very dark grey on my Mac like it should be.

Just booting into Safe Mode changed my login screen to the new Tahoe Day wallpaper.

I already updated and tried the full installer again anyway. It got stuck at 95% with the beach bull like before the update but it seems I just had to wait a little more and the beach ball would have been gone a few minutes later. Now I have to update again. ;)

I also just found a strange bug. Screenshots now have a huge bright background, same in dark mode and in light mode.
