Annoying Beta 3 behaviour: 5 finger swipe in on the trackpad now brings up regular Spotlight, not the Apps in Spotlight (previously Launchpad), most of the time. I don't want that. I want apps for this gesture, and Cmd+Space for Spotlight.

I mapped option-z to "Show Launchpad" and since the upgrade it now opens Spotlight direct to the Applications view, every time.

EDIT: Ah, I jinxed it. I started playing around, clicking opt-z and cmd-space and it occasionally gets it wrong both ways.

i was getting the exact opposite responses, except once, when the trackpad gesture gave me spotlight.

still a work-in-progress, apparently (but it should be as you've pointed out, & is here most of the time, so far)

My mail.app is freezing as soon as I input any character on the search field. Tried the usual solutions (reindex spotlight, delete and add the mail account etc). Anyone with the same problem?

Some things that still need fixing, imo.

1) The f*cking shadows, pls, Apple, reduce them.
2) In Finder, there's no space between the tabs, same with Terminal. But there's a spacing in Safari (which looks right, to me).

3) Still there's an overlapping control in Safari.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but aside from the new Tahoe screensaver there seem to be other new ones such as Goa Beaches and more.

Some people say glass has been toned down. This might be true in iOS and iPadOS, but in macOS, it doesn't look that different to me. Maybe a little different.

A tip for those who hate Finder floating buttons (I am of mixed opinion) - if you enable labels underneath the buttons, you get somewhat of a background.

I also don't know why is the menu bar black now if you enable "show menu background"
Most of the app icons which have changed are a noticeable downgrade from Sequoia. Are Apple's designers just removing as many of the nice details as they can from Settings, Preview, Mission Control, TextEdit, Contacts, etc. icons and calling it good now? It's laughably bad and whoever on the design team approved this needs to be out of a job.

Except now the first line below the title appears partly blurry. So, still a work in progress. :D 🙈 I guess the second Appearance is redundant anyway and should be removed...
Yeah, in my feedback report / suggestion, I had suggested adding padding before the content, rather than removing the divider. Cuz, as you said, even with a removed divider, still seems like some padding is needed (or the blur shouldn't be active unless there's a scroll).

apart from the visual refresh is there anything actually good in macOS 16 compared to macOS 15?
Oh, there is one feature I forgot to mention. Spotlight is beefed up and has the ability to copy what was on the clipboard for up to 8 hours. So, there is an actual feature in our mainly visual upgrade!

Also, I got a reply back from my bug on the software update issue (where you had to uninstall Rosetta to make the update appear):

Feedback ID FB18677134, Installed Rosetta blocks software update from finding new release
Changes have been deployed server-side that may have resolved this issue.
Is this issue fixed for you?
I can’t test this as I’ve already updated, but in case anyone else was blocked, give it another shot.

The problem is that I also tried removing Rosetta as instructed, but unfortunately, even in this case, the update still doesn’t appear to be available.

Is anyone else having issues with the Music app? Mine plays for about 5 minutes and then becomes unresponsive. I have to force quit it every time.
