Thanks, Lou but the actual download won’t start for anyone with too high of a macOS.

Untitled 12.png

I’m installing a virtual machine now, just to get the darn thing:
Use an earlier version of OS X to download it.

I tried downloading from an older Mac but App Store doesn’t allow it because the hardware is too old.
I tried downloading from a Mac that already has El Capitan but App Store doesn’t allow another download.
I tried making a Virtual Machine with Parallels but the OSX Snow Leopard Installer doesn’t work with it.
I tried pressing the Option key, which apparently used to work but also doesn’t work anymore.

How can I get the Sierra or El Capitan Installer?

Don't use Mojave to download it. Go to a Mac that can run Sierra and have anything up to High Sierra then download Sierra. A recent Mac, released after Sierra release won't download it.

[doublepost=1560333583][/doublepost]You can try to use the home-brew mas-cli app https://github.com/mas-cli/mas

Sierra ID is 1127487414

Got a Mac with Sierra, download from the App Store starts, then aborts:

Okay got Sierra finally. (First had to download any one other thing from the App Store, then it works)
What is the current BootROM firmware of your Mac Pro?

>AboutThisMac>SystemReport>Hardware>HardwareOverview>BootROMVersion

And also, if there is a residual copy of an earlier version of the MacOS that you are trying to download in the Applications Folder, the download won't complete. It will need to be trashed.

Sierra and El Capitan installers are not available for download anymore on the App Store despite having an official page with screenshots and a Get button.

All three links working for me.

El Capitan
10.11.6 Mac App Store direct download link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/os-x-el-capitan/id1147835434?mt=12

Sierra

High Sierra

You mean you see the App Store page or it actually lets you download the file? All three pages don’t let me actually download anything depending on what system I’m running currently.

Anyway, got it now with an older machine.

I don’t get that far, the installation always fails. Apple menu only allows start volume, restart and shut down.

Is there a Terminal Command that spits it out?

This is what I got so far from Terminal:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU W3680 @. 3.33GHz

and

Chipset: 2046
Firmware Version: v208 c518

Yes.Which macOS version are your running?
I tried 5 different ones from Snow Leopard to Mojave (Mini, BookAir, MacPro), it was exactly as tsialex said. The Mac has to be able to run High Sierra but be below Mojave.

Otherwise error
(screenshot in post 1103).

Okay, thank you very much! Just curious, how come Mojave ran before the seller of my machine erased the drives? Firmware-wise I mean.
Probably used a hacked install, sellers wanting to make a quick buck won't gonna do all the process needed to upgrade the MP5,1 BootROM and install Mojave as intended by Apple.

One can use the dosdude patcher Apps to download 10.12 to 10.14
No. 10.12 is only available via Mac App Store as an app that need authentication.

Apple removed 10.12 from SUS when 10.14 was released, only 10.13.6 and 10.14 are available via SUS.

Must have been a good hack. He showed me how he edits 4K on the HD 5770 under Mojave. He said he got it from his workplace at a studio, someone pieced it together there.

Now I can’t use the card as it doesn’t have Metal functionality.
(I ordered the Pulse 580 today).

Sorry but HD 5770 don't have acceleration past High Sierra, zero chances of editing 4K without it.
Okay he showed me a video he was editing and I fell for it and thought it was 4K. Thanks for the hard truth.

Regarding a second GPU for Boot Screen and Mini Displayport:
Do all older GPUs with Mini Displayport, that used to work before Metal requirements, still have a working Mini Displayport under Mojave (in combination with a main Metal card)?
