I think it’s a COVID/UPS issue as this point. Still hope you receive it by Friday so you can play with it over the weekend!
I doubt it. The thing that’s most annoying is the fact I have no information.
Folks, I can now OFFICALLY CONFIRM that several UPS flights have left Kentucky with Smart Keyboards loaded on board! You heard it here first!
I understand but preparing to ship means it’s been handed over to UPS and they’re probably struggling during this time. I have a feeling you’ll still get it by Friday which would be the earliest of the initial estimate by Apple.
Just recieved mine. I can’t believe how seamless the experience is with the trackpad! And the keyboard feels great. Much better than the butterfly KB on my 2016 12” rMB.
Just noticed I now have a “Departure Scan” out of Lousiville, KY. Excited to see where we go next!
Yes, mine is on one of those flights. It left Louisville at 4:09pm headed for Texas. Can't wait for tomorrow.
I would agree with you because normally you can confirm with UPS or FedEx that its in the pipeline. But when Apple shows PTS and neither of the shippers used by Apple don’t show even show a label has beeb created, that’s so not like Apple. Even when we’re waiting for the new iPhones, Apple will show PTS but all the while you can track its progress through the UPS system. Then magically, Apple sends you a “Today’s the Day” email telling you the iPhone will soon be in your hands. Us forums users have know the information all along.
It's weird because I ordered a watch band on Sunday, an hour later it was PTS, 8 PM that night got an email with a tracking number from UPS, movement began on Monday and it arrived Tuesday morning. This keyboard I ordered like 20 minutes max after it launched and still stuck on PTS on Apple's end.
I just did a chat with an Apple rep checking on my order. They said it’s in the preparing to ship phase which means once it enters that phase it will ship out within 24 hours. I told them it’s been in the preparing to ship for three days. He was kind of snarky and said well I can’t tell how many days it’s been in that phase. He said he could try to cancel my order but couldn’t guarantee. I left as is will keep waiting I guess.

I’m in exactly the same boat, estimated ship date between April 24 to May 1 and Preparing to ship. In Toronto, ON.
I ordered Tuesday morning from Best Buy, it arrived this afternoon. Loving every keystroke!
The unit I ordered from Apple on the day it became available has been showing PTS since Monday, although UPS showed tracking Monday night. Hasn’t moved since then. That is, till I wrote this and now it’s finally departing KY.

My Best Buy order shipped yesterday and I was able to pick it up ahead of time at the Post Office today because they had it in. It was suppose to be delivered tomorrow. I love it. I am typing on it right now and getting use to it.
