Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro Order Status

Received mine today, unfortuntaley I was gone all day and I am just playing with it. It’s definitely heavy, I have the brydge keyboard that I received for free last year and have been using it the past two weeks with my iPad. I feel like it is heavier than brydge but I have no idea if it is and it doesn’t bother me either way.

The keys do feel exceptional nice, don’t know how to describe it, but the keys feel very nicely made. Though typing on the brydge keyboard was fine to me, I was typing around 85-88 wpm on it. My first speed test on the new magic keyboard I typed 90wpm so it defintiely feels more like my 2015 MacBook Pro I had and I loved that keyboard.

The trackpad is somewhat mixed for me so far. While I think it feels really nice and reminds me of the MacBook trackpad it is very small. The width isn’t as much as a problem for me as the height is. I keep running my fingers up to the top rubber part and that is frustrating, hoping with time and practice I will get use to it.

Overall very happy with it so far and will definitely be keeping it.

Apple still shows delivery tomorrow, but the tracking number still isn’t showing up in UPS. At this point I seriously doubt I’m getting it tomorrow.

Finally got mine. Ordered about an hour after they went live on Apple's site - was scheduled to deliver last Thur and got pushed last second to today. Arrived at my widwest front door about 3pm.

First impressions real fast:

Build quality is great
Keys feel really nice
Apple absolutely NAILED the trackpad's tracking - like the best of MacOS and iPad touch
Magnets have perfect strength; very easy to dock your iPad and then remove it on the go
Lapability is less than a laptop but better than a Surface Pro - top heavy but balanced
I was worried the screen wouldn't go back far enough, but so far it's been more than fine.

On my 11", it seriously doubles the thickness and weight... feels much more like a laptop than a tablet with a cover
Trackpad is definitely too small
keys are a bit small/tight, and some funny sized keys in the top right of the keyboard - takes some getting used to
I really, really struggle to justify a $300 price tag for this... I'll end up keeping it, but for most people not tech warriors or Apple die-hards, this is a hard thing to recommend. I'm happy... but I could see how someone may not be

Well poo! Mine finally reached ‘Out For Delivery’ status this morning, but after waiting anxiously all day, at 9:20pm I received a text from UPS saying it’s been rescheduled for tomorrow. A whole day spent in anticipation for nothing, lol. Maybe tomorrow....

For the record, I ordered mine in the afternoon on the day they were announced and received a delivery estimate of 4/24-5/1. This perhaps the first product from Apple I’ve ever ordered that I didn’t receive before or on the earliest delivery date estimate. Can not be upset, what with all that‘s happening, plus the fact it’s still within the delivery estimate. Oh well.

Amazing, credit charged last night, now preparing for shipment. My best guess is end of the week, then the DHL Express tombola starts (Eindhoven => Brussels => Amsterdam => Amersfoort in all 24 hours, just wasting CO2 kilos, while I live 45 minutes from DHL Express in Eindhoven).

Has the charge reappeared on your credit card? Mine dropped off, Apple sent the shipping email, but my card hasn’t been charged.

Charge is back on there and now info is live in UPS system for delivery tomorrow.

I’m in same boat as you. Shipping notice from Apple noted delivery tomorrow but charge dropped off and no UPS status. 🤷🏼‍♂️

edit- just looked again, and charge is now on my card again. It wasn’t on there when I looked earlier.

What amazes me is that I placed a Best Buy order Friday (4/24) with free shipping and it’s arriving today, whereas my Apple order placed on launch day is no where to be found!

I’ve posted above about my order status changing today, but I ordered launch day and my delivery estimate was 24th April - 1st May. Not sure if that’s of any help to you.

No change here - ordered on the 17 from Uk for 12.9 Uk version - would go the Currys route but have discount with Apple that means have to wait this one out - however if everyone else could get theirs via Curry’s/Amazon and then mine might move up the q that would be great

Cancelt my order completely, i think the smart folio i already have is probably fine. Guess the realization paying 340 euro’s for the 11” was a bit,, over the top.

and then i see it in stock at a Apple Reseller,, ordered it, should arrive tomorrow.. guess i am an Apple sheep haha.
