Magnetic Mounts and Qi Charging

which phone you were using? And what cable and adapter were working with our charger?

Something might be wrong with your charger, adapter, or cable. I have a complete opposite experience. It’s not as fast as a cable but does more than 2% in 30 minutes.

By chance, what sort of angle is yours at? Mine is near vertical so I can actually see/use the phone. My phone also seems to slide down a little after I initially attach it, and it still shifts a bit during the course of a trip.

I got mine from their webpage. You gave their case right ? Or are you putting a plate in it?

I had tried both the Evutec AER Karbon and Pitaka's own case. Pitaka's stays on reasonbly well, but not as well as say, the Evutec case + AFIX mount or Spigen Kuel (6-magnet) + metal plate.

Hey, if you’re considering the pitaki, let me know what some things you do on your phone that you have 20 minutes for 1% and I’ll sctually test for you. I basically just trickle charge throughout the day so rarely drop under 90% so that’s why I don’t know for this one...I just remember it being better than the others.

Usually just google maps and Apple Music or Downcast for audio.

I already have the Magbak magnetic case. Will the Pitaka Magnetic Mount work with this case? The metal/magnetic plates on this case are located similar to the Pitaka case. I just want to confirm before purchasing the mount. Thanks!

Haven't tried but I just checked their case. Seems don't work with ours. The magnets inserted are placed differently.

I can say the only thing I wish the pitaki Charger would do is allow you to turn your phone landscape without having to turn the mount sideways. I feel like it would be a slightly differently designed case but easily possible. As it stands, you have to turn the mount and the. The phone can be landscape. Not a deal breaker, and I still think this is the best wireless charging car set, but would jump ship with the same idea and a case I can do portrait or landscape without having to mess with the mount.

Thank you for your suggestion.
As far as I know, the solution to solve this problem will be making a round and close metal plate ring on the back of the case and at the same time the magnets in the MagMount Qi should be placed as a circle. In this way, you can spin your phone as you like.
But there are two points we have to notice:
1) the round metal plate will form a magnetic field, consequently the wireless charging function will be influenced.
2) The phone is not wide enough.
Check the picture I drew.... Sorry I'm a pro.. This rough draft may help you understand what I'm indicating.

So if you know a perfect solution or you have find one out there, please let me know.

If the magnets in the charger would let you put the phone on in portrait or landscape, it would work fine. There is no change needed on the case, only the charger. The metal ring on the phone goes unchanged.

Sorry for the terrible pictures but wanted to share my solution that seems to work. I just wanted to use my leather folio with my koomas magnetic cd mount. No wireless charging in car yet, but soon maybe.

I use the iottie metal plates which have a shape to not block the conductive area in the center of the phone.

Right now, I have it on the original plastic from the phone I cut down for testing purposes. Works well in both orientations and allows me to wirelessly charge on my pads at work and home. Now that I know it works, I will adhere the plate in a nicer fashion lol.
