In few years it’s only eSIM
Considering only a handful of carriers support eSIM (and most of them only for postpaid accounts), it will be decades until we have eSIM only.

But I'm sure selling that SIM ejector separately will happen. It's for the environment or courage... :D

Yes, it will. Wireless charging is super convenient, there’s a reason it is included in basically all phones these days.

Now, Apple just fixed the biggest issue with wireless charging, not putting the phone in the exact necessary position. With that issue eliminated there’s no reason to use a lightning cable ever again.

If your car does not have wireless CarPlay, like mine, then the cable is necessary. Apple will need to provide a solution if and when they remove the lighting port from the iPhone.

That's all we're getting in the box. I hate 2020 lol.

The only advance they have introduced is the magnets. Since iPhone 8 wireless charging is possible. They just made it cooler, more convenient and allowed for faster wireless charging, but they have not added any real function that the phone did not have since 4 years ago.
Just to be pedantic, Apple has only had wireless charging for 3 years. X and 8 came out in 2017.

Why is wireless charging more convenient? I bought a wireless charging stand a few years ago and it worked. But I quit using it because honestly it was easier just to plug in the charging cable to the phone. The MagSafe thing is better than the stand since I could use the phone and hold it while charging. But....I can do that with my iphone charging cable also.

Now, I do get that if we didn't have the lightning port on the bottom of the phone, it might be nice to have one MagSafe charger that I could charge the phone and could also charge my iPad (USB C port) and my Apple Watch (different device). So that is advantageous. But that is the only advantage I can see. (And of course right now we still have a lightning port and I have a gazillion lightning cables).

Is there anything else that make wireless charging more convenient?

If you mean out of the box? No only the phone and the cable, that's it. No other accessories.
Thanks. Took me a while to figure this out at the Apple Store. Ridiculous IMHO. I'm surprised they don't sell the cable separately. Per Apple...

The MagSafe Charger makes wireless charging a snap. The perfectly aligned magnets attach to your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro and provide faster wireless charging up to 15W.
The MagSafe Charger maintains compatibility with Qi charging, so it can be used to wirelessly charge your iPhone 8 or later, as well as AirPods models with a wireless charging case, as you would with any Qi-certified charger.
The magnetic alignment experience only applies to iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models.
20W USB-C Power Adapter sold separately.

So I got my case today and the MagSafe charger. It automatically finds the sweet spot on the case very easily as you drop it onto it.

One hand operation to put it on charge. When you pick it up the MagSafe stays stuck to the case, so a two hand operation to take it off.

Aftermarket will bring stylish suction cups to have MagSafe charger stay on the table so we don't need to use 2 hands.

MagSafe on the iPhone isn’t a standard because it didn’t exist before today.

I guarantee the next iPhones or the ones after will not have a port for a cable. They will be 100% MagSafe. This is Apple’s future charging solution that we are looking at. There will be a lot less complaining next year if there’s already thousands of these MagSafe charging accessories on the market.
Don’t think so, what about CarPlay?

does a normal refrigerator magnet stick to the case?
Does it stick wherever you want or does it get attracted to only certain locations?

Wait, so the case has magnets in it too? I thought they were designed to be thin-enough to let the MagSafe magnets "pass through"... ?

but here is what i really want to know. Will the phone with that case snap onto my car magnetic mount. And if so Will it snap into my mount with a third party case, will the magnets on the phone be strong enough through a third party case.

Because it’s another option to charge your phone via another accessory. Simple as that.

and To plug into ur computer, and to plug in card readers(which I use often for my drone footage) and other accessories.

CarPlay is going wireless now and they will have a solution for the ones that currently require wires.

And what solution will they have for me plugging in my sd card into a sd card adapter plugged into the lightning port or plugging Into iTunes on my Comp.

for now sell more accessories.
case $49 megsafe charger $39 💰💰💰💰

😂and in a few years
"In 2020, we reimagined wireless charging. today we are introducing megsafe plus, now your iPhone charges up to 50% in 30 minutes."

I think you’re mistaking me for someone who works at Apple.

We will hold onto the last iPhone model with a lightning port as long as we can.

That sounds crappy. Lol But to think, iTunes on a computer was a big thing for them. Now not so much but we need options for local backups not just iCloud, you know. I just don’t see how they can get rid of that port for data transfer purposes.
