No, why would i download something and then have to wait to use. Its trying to fix something that isn't broke.

You don't have to download it.

I really wish they'd get rid of that eye roll ************.

I can't see the point of reservations

Either it's ready or it isn't. Let me know when it's ready for Pete's sake. Why the game playing? I think they are going to use the high reserve count to try to sell it to someone, thereby upping the sale price.
If other apps can release and sell millions of copies in hours or days, I don't see the point of having to reserve.
I hate gimmicks.

I got sent two reservation codes for some reason. I used one of them, but I think the other one is still fine:

Reservation number: 9971
Private code: ZQYZ

(If you do use it, post a reply just so I know :) )

I tried... Says reservation not found...

Or maybe someone was faster... :p

I had come down to 520,xxx in around 24 hours... approx 20,000 and there were over a 120,000 behind me... TO try use your code I had to re-install... And now I am 645,100... :( :(

It's not a gimmick ... They are limiting the amount of people who have access so they will be able to scale their server backend. They handle all of the e-mails / push notifications on their servers.

Sorry to hear that :( That's why I wanted someone to reply, to prevent the above.

When I reinstalled Mailbox, though, it still had my old reservation number in it :/

Yea but I didn't get a reservation number... I tried on the website a lot of times... But no number... :(

At this point there has been about a million people in line. I can't think of an app that sold that many copies (games don't count) but had to handle the emails and notifications of a million accounts in a few days. Orchestra is not a big company.

Gmail only? LOL
People still use that?

Gmail only at launch but more support in the future (probably due to the fact that people DO use it). What do you use?

Eh lol? Gmail must be the smartest to use nowadays . It's simple , very handy and interacts with YouTube accounts in the same channel .

I'm not jumping off gmail in a long time if ever.

Btw bro its 2013.

To you and all others, if you still have the first version of mailbox, there is a tweak I can show you to bypass the line :D (although I am currently stuck in line cuz i decided to update like a dumb A) its relatively simple and only requires ifile

Turn false to true... :p

But now google signs me in but mailbox doesn't verify... :(

No friend, it's a gimmick.. That's what betas are for.

Why do you think it took "Things" so long to release the final product with cloud service? They were in beta for a long time, slowly giving out invites so they could scale their servers properly.

Mailbox's reservation system is all gimmick, all marketing.

And it seems to be working. #hype

This is true. That is all I can say :D BTW its worth the wait. :)

I got into the mailbox server last night, and I have to say that using the app is a wonderful way to deal with email. It's not a gimmick, it's not a ploy. It's a wonderful experience. In my view, it's definitely worth the wait. They also are very receptive on Twitter, answering every question I had with a reply. They really are doing their customers a great service with staying in contact, giving details, albeit small ones, of other features they plan to add, like other email providers, an iPad app, and so on. This has to be the best email app experience I've had to date, much better than even Sparrow. The two features I'm banking on to make it #1 for me is an iPad app and the ability to reply using the email that's forwarding to my Gmail. After that, it's golden in my assessment.

That's funny you say that about the different send from addresses. This app is so good I fwd my iCloud to gmail and I just set up my work account to fwd as well. They are redirects so original sender remains. I use it to manage all the inbound / conversation flow and manage my tasks. I then use the iOS app to send non gmail. Turn off all notifications so just manage through mailbox.

FYI I use retinapad and iPhone version of app on my ipad. More than serviceable until native version released.
