I’m so excited too! I actually really have a good feeling about it!
Wouldn’t get that excited, apart from iPadOS 15 and the new MacBook Pros, the rest of the event is going to be a snooze fest. ???

Apple pro apps will get get announced for iPad, they’ll also announce other pro apps from other companies, new Home Screen layout place widgets wherever you like, new notification system, better multi tasking and more.

iPad as you know it will never be the same again ?

The competition if you can call it that, will be left even further behind.
Considering i have a iPad Pro 2021 on order from Apple, it would be great to see this. I'm just not sure we will. There have been no leaks. We will see in a few hours i guess.

One thing I hope they do, is not make Pro users wait till September to try out any new Apps

If the iPad is built to take full advantage of "Pro Apps", then we should get them soon, having to wait till iOS 15 is released will be much of a duller ! - Unless of course the OS needs to be updated due to code and running these Apps

If there are Pro Apps they will likely launch in beta now and be publicly released in the fall alongside iPadOS 15.

Design refresh, just like we had for iOS 7. I believe neomorphism is the new design language for many years ahead.

While I appreciate polish, I don’t need something new just for the sake of it, and it took Apple years to fine tune the last change for change’s sake.

If it makes my life easier, bring it on.

Frankly, I'm still annoyed by the tiny box of 4 x 4 app icons in folders compared to however many fits almost fullscreen with iOS 6. Such an inefficient use of screen real estate.

iPadOS will be getting a massive update, bookmark this post. ? the beast known as iPadOS 15 is about to be unleashed ?

iOS, minor update

macOS, minor update

WatchOS minor update

tvOS minor update
I hope you're right. I don't really care about major updates to any other device I currently have. But my iPad Pro still feels held back by the software.

We need project Inverse Catalyst then! Some way of enabling Mac apps to run on iPad; it is pretty clear that there is nothing currently motivating devs to port their apps by themselves.
Can you elaborate a bit on this? I don't think I have any missing software on my iPad in relation to my macOS workstations. I'm pretty easy; OmniFocus, DEVONthink, Due, Fantastical, Lightroom, and Obsidian is in test flight now and that's the only app I feel like I'm "missing". My career is in IT Security and my hobbies are photography, publishing, and drones.

During the work week my iPad spends about 1/4th of the time in OneNote because that's my whiteboard when I'm conducting workshops.

As for Final Cut Pro or something on iPadOS, I would imagine most filmmakers need more storage than an iPad Pro will give them unless they plan on hitching it up to a JBOD or something and being tethered. Which might be totally fine and what filmmakers want, that's definitely something I don't know anything about. I use iMovie occasionally and that's it.

Today is indeed the day! Either something is announced in iPadOS 15 that makes the M1/8GB+ RAM in the 2021 IPP valuable, or it's me hanging onto my 4GB 2018 IPP for another year. Such as:

1. Dual boot IPP into Big Sur (without touchscreen) support (pipe dream)
2. Ability to run MacOS apps on IPP (without touchscreen support) (very unlikely)
3. Significant multitasking improvements (possible but still not likely)

Pretty much any other new feature besides these my 2018 IPP could handle. Apple it's up to you whether you get my $1999 for that 16GB cellular 12.9" IPP.....
