Sure. First carry out steps 1 and 2 of Internal PCIe drives. Then
  • Open System Information and find the name of your disk in the PCI section
Look for "AHCI Controller" or "NVM Express Controller." You should see something like pci0000,0000.
  • In terminal, enter ./gfxutil -f pci0000,0000. Make sure to replace pci0000,0000 with the actual name of your disk.
This should return the desired path.

I'd like to understand why the command isn't working for you, though. Please enter system_profiler SPPCIDataType in Terminal, and post the output. Is your disk listed there? If so, which one is it? Thanks!
thank You, path for slot 4 I receive only by this old method. two files with my data attached (as to pci1002,7314:- this is inner NAVI 10 USB bus of my RadeonPro W5700- this unknown controller as I understand reduces my cpu performance- i have to make it work by giving right parameters or disable it in opencore , but don't know how yet)

Thanks! This new command should give you all the paths:
system_profiler SPPCIDataType | grep -B 2 'AHCI Controller\|NVM Express Controller' | grep 'pci' | sed 's|:||' | sort | uniq | xargs -n 1 ./gfxutil -f | sed 's|.*= ||'

It's an "all-or-nothing" behavior, not a slow degradation, so I don't think it's a driver memory leak. Plus my system isn't showing an unbounded growth of pinned memory - even after multiple days of uptime.
And after the seamless update to 12.2, I'm still seeing this behavior (Geekbench GPGPU Compute benchmark numbers 1/2 of what they are immediately after a boot or >30 second sleep.)

That's a bummer. 40916 OpenCL, 45011 Metal after 8h47m uptime here.

[edit: repeated after a couple of minutes, Metal score almost identical]

I just did a supposedly seamless update to 12.2 (countdowns etc) but seems after finally booting it didn't update at all! Still on 12.1 with update showing in System Prefs. Anyone have idea what this would be the result of?
TIA

This happens when the computer fails to boot from the update volume and starts from the regular main volume instead. Re-download the update and make sure to interrupt the boot process, select the "other" Macintosh HD from OC bootpicker and wait for the update to complete. Some restarts will apply.

Thanks. The Macintosh HD was still there at boot but selecting it just aborts every time about 20% in (12 in a row and I gave up). Tried restarting the update in control panel. Same problem just much longer to happen (doing all the xx minutes remaining). No boot.

Changed VMM to on. Nothing boots anymore, not even the old Monterey 12.1. Tried my Mojave drive to boot but after selecting it just goes black and comes back to bootpicker. Eventually had an old big sur drive booted (USB 2.0!) so I could turn off VMM and get back to where I was.

Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea why this is happening (OC is becoming a bit complex for me) so going to have top stay with 12.1 for now. I am going to try one of Martin Lo's OC packages and see if that helps to boot 'Macintosh HD'

Edit: OK Martin's OC 077 ('vanilla') boots back into old 12.1 install without problem but no go on the update. Macintosh HD remains in bootpicker but that will just end in a boot loop if selected.
Side effect - Martin's OC config will not recognise updates - I tried following his vide for updating Catalina/Monterey (VMM and updateSMBIOS = false) but SysPrefs says I'm up to date on 12.1

Unfortunately not a seamless update for me.

Yes. I updated two days ago without any issue. If your config is up-to-date (with SecureBootModel, BoardProduct in DataHub, FirmwareFeatures in NVRAM,...), it's just a matter of upgrading like on a supported Mac.

What about VMM? Continue to leave it blank, or is that still needed as well?

The guide mentions it's needed for OTA updates (and actually how I got from Mojave>Big Sur on this drive), but that was a while back, when 0.7.4 was the newest version of OC.

It's only needed for Catalina.

anybody also experiencing weird boot behavior (every 30th to 40th boot)? That the progress bar does not move anymore —> forced shutdown and everything works as before? Since Monterey

OpenCore Screen freeze/locking up?: This happens using 0.75 OpenCore for both Big Sur and Mojave, but is fine running Mojave without OC. Please could someone offer some advice? I'm using a standard MartinLo 0.75 config.plist which has been working fine for months with my previous GPU (GTX710). I'm trying to use an AMD Sapphire HD 7950 Dual-X w Boost and flashed rom. Screen freezes when viewing youtube/video/movies, but can still hear audio for a while then cMP 5,1 reboots? Do I need different settings in the config.plist?

This has been mentioned a few times now: Randomly hanging on boot in Monterey is caused by not having DataHub>BoardProduct set. See post #9,938 and the link therein for more information.

This guide explains how to use the excellent OpenCore boot loader to install, run, and update the latest version of macOS on the MacPro5,1, resulting in a clean, unaltered operating system just like on a supported Mac.

Where can I find the specific guide to install Windows 11?
I've tried following a few suggestions here and there but haven't found a safe and accurate guide.
Thanks in advance!

Post #1. There's a section called Appendix: Windows.
Sorry but I have followed all the instructions in the section called Appendix but I can't find the solution and details on how to install Windows 11!
With Windows 10 no problem, but when I try to install the Windows 11 the installer shows this message "...it is not possible to install this version of Windows on this computer".
Thanks in advance for your help!

The instructions are the same.

When does this message appear? The guide describes a dism install, so if you can get to the command prompt, then the installer is effectively bypassed, and there is simply no opportunity for that message to appear. Perhaps your installer is different from the one in my tests. In that case, post #10,042 may be helpful.

Windows 11 is not supported on any Mac computer including our cMP5,1. If you really want to get Windows 11 on your cMP I would install Windows 10.

Then search for work arounds that patch the install media, etc. to force an install but that isn't the purpose of this thread. You can search the forum and I expect you will find some who forced a Windows 10 install to update to Windows 11.
