Day three and I was really behind already! Did my usual 35 minutes on the cross trainer first thing. But due to starting work early, missing lunch (so no walk) and getting home late I was only on about 40 of my 90 minutes. So I did the rest throughout the evening with indoor runs. It will be so much easier when it’s light in the evenings and I can also go out then! Anyway hot up to my 90 so back on track.
Go for it guys. You can do it!

I'm not very tech savvy. I insert from my iphone, it becomes a thumbnail. When I do it from my computer, it is a full sized image. Thanks to Applefanboy, and many others like him, usually questions are answered immediately. :)

Did you know that Mind and Body also count as exercise minutes? I do 15 minutes of meditation each day (via Calm app). It helps me with managing general anxiety. I highly recommend it. After all, health is both body and mind.

Thanks! Especially good to know for those times when a muscle or limb needs time off!

Also: See Apple Fanboy post #38 for sizing of picture posts.

I have now doubled my move goal 2 out of 6 days already. I'm hoping to get another one in this week (Either Friday or Saturday) and noticed we will get some rain next week. Hopefully I can still get my move goal in between the rain.

I don't know how Apple calculates exercise points. But I walk all over town, for at least 50 to 70 minutes. I have naturally low heart rate, but my phone is with me to map my course, and I get 2 exercise minutes? Hahaha.

Your heart rate needs to be elevated. Do your normal routine. The next time do the same walk (mileage) but walk at your quickest pace. You’ll get all the minutes you need.

My regular BPM is 58. It's low (and I'm no athlete), but it's hereditary from my grandma's side and she lived to be over 90. When I do HIIT it can get to be 90-95. But walking in cold weather and trying not to freeze to death, it's hard to keep it high, but I'll try. Or I can stick with indoor exercises for now, I have lots of cool trainers I follow.

Thanks for the advice.

I see the same thing when I workout on my low-budget bicycle machine.

I have noticed that I get (more) minutes on my exercise ring when my heart rate is higher, like when I run, shovel snow, or make a concerted effort to pedal faster on the bicycle machine.

I was already planning to get a better bicycle machine with a heavier flywheel for better resistance, but seeing the difference in the types of exercise on my Apple Watch have given me more reason to do so later in the year when we get enough money set aside for a nice, but not extravagant, spin cycle.

If you start a workout in the activity app that should help get your exercise minutes higher.

Yours should be coming up soon. An easy, fun challenge for everyone. :D
Happy International Women’s Day.

I have a resting heart rate average that’s exactly the same but I don’t seem to have any trouble raising it. Do you know what your average walking pace is? I try to sit around 18-20 mins/mile so it’s not too fast but not too slow.

Why isn’t there an exercise selection for gardening? Digging out tree stumps gets your heart rate up!
78 minutes done so far. Still have my walk to come.
Try the "Other" workday option - I did that when I shoveled snow and it seemed to work well and let me know how many calories I burned and what my heart rate was.

I did. I just don’t like using other as it feels a bit like cheating. Anyway I know I’ve had a good workout this morning.
I would log it under "Traditional Strength Training" because you're lifting heavy things and breaking your back.

:D  ;)

there is something wrong with how it is calculating exercise minutes. I cycled for 25 minutes just now. Avg heart rate of 137 according to the watch. Only 10 minutes got added

I'm having issues with my exercise minutes too - I walked 11km the other day and it registered 8 mins exercise.

This month my challenge is close move ring 28 times. Thankfully my move ring registers fine when I do my daily long walks.
