Based on her onscreen persona, noone can replace Rebbeca Romijn in that role and she almost made blue skin and orange hair look good, although the latter image (fan art) is much better hair. Actually imo, it’s hard to replace Famke Janssen as Jean Grey. Let’s see if they can do it. 
They’ve given Chris Clairemont and John Byrne writing credits for this, so a good sign.

I am with you on JL as Mystique and I also prefer Famke as Jean Grey. I miss James Marssen the most though. Scott got so little respect in those two movies and I thought he nailed the character.

For my comic book movie dollars: nothing tops Winter Soldier, though the original Hellboy and Blade come close. Deadpool was also on point. I am looking forward to Deadpool 2 (especially Cable.) For X-Men, I'll take the two movies mentioned and The Wolverine.
But sad to say, I hardly remember her in Infinity War or was it End Game?

Just watched Captain Marvel (2019)- Good Avenger’s Universe movie, nice tie in with Avengers, but holy crap she is practically omnipotent.
It’s late so if I mess something up, my apologies. As you probably remember I’ve had issues with Avengers, which I don’t want to argue about, but I’ve liked it where it has bleed into other Marvel franchises I like, like Infinity War. If I have my chronology right, this ties into the Avengers prior to the first Avengers Movie? And we now know how the Infinity Stone ended up on Earth.
Does anyone know how true this is to source material? My impression based on this review which is basically critical of the Movie, that there is really no source material, it’s mostly MCU. However that’s not enough of a reason for me to dislike the movie. I liked it! I liked Krell’s, even though I knew Krell’s were bad, the Infinity Stone story and how Carol Danvers got her powers.

A pretty good epic. My only critique is that Iron Man was a bit annoying while acknowledging that’s part of his MCU character and there should have been Human bodies laying all over Manhattan, but this is PG-13.
