Probably if Apple allows Downloading Music from AppleMusic, you'll be able to play it using Marvis.
But only when Apple stores those music into traditional iTunes\Music folder, not a separate folder.

And you may add some more advanced features into in-app playlist. For example, you may create a playlist based on an artist, and play count.

Of course, normal playlist creation can be included.

Actually, there is no folder system access for Music. Apple provides Direct Access to the list of items. We just have to use their APIs.

I'll ask for everybody's suggestions when I plan to add the Smart Playlists.

Yeah I forgot to mention, I use my iPad landscape a lot so it's already getting annoying using it on my iPad...

But for my iPhone it's brilliant to use. It's now a solid replacement and if Apple Music is fully supported, it will continue to be my #1 music app.

However I'll use the normal music app for my iPad for now until you get the landscape mode sorted for iPad.

But this app is beautiful. Loving it. Apple should hire you, you know how to design the app better than Jony Ive or anyone who designed that horrible stock music app.

P.s - can't wait for the update too!

Wow. Really Thanks for the Kind words. I'm really feeling proud of myself that you compared me with Sir Jony Ive.

I'm so happy you loved Marvis.

About the iPad Landscape - When I started making Marvis my goal was to make a Universal App (Mostly no one makes for iPad). I added the Landscape view to iPad, but when I added some more things, it broke. I'll surely sort it out, soon.

I guess you'd love to see iPhone Landscape View. I'm sure it'll be a game changer, finally a Landscape View that's done right.

A mod is deleting our posts so this is probably my last post on the matter; I'll certainly spread the word about this app.

I don't use my iPhone landscape unless it's to watch something on it but that looks pretty cool. :)

I'll wait for the iPad landscape update so I can use it on my iPad. But perfect for my iPhone. Thank you for making this app.

Marvis is really good looking and matches And almost bests the funcionality of iOS 6 Music app (Which is still the benchmark in my book).

As an album listener i'd appreciate a landscape artwork based navigation mode like old Cover Flow or current (and soon to be gone) album grid. Also that the app would remember position after a shut down would be cool. Miss this since iOS 6.

On a side note (and being a matter of taste) i think translucency hurts readabili &c clarity on the now playing screen.

Best non Apple music app i have tried. And God knows i've tried quite a few since iOS 7.

You checked out the Landscape Images I posted, A few posts ago?

Marvis supports almost everything that's supported in Portrait. Though many users prefer to navigate using Albums, many have their own preferences. I wanted to support everything.

I'm sure you'll like the Split view mode even more, it makes great sense for Landscape.

About the readability, I didn't add transparency to the texts because the readability would suffer, but if you feel that transparency hurts readability, you can choose a dark background image from Marvis Settings, when v2.0 comes.

I'm so happy you liked Marvis.

Landscape looks good!

Few more suggestions:

- I think that artist name on every track once an album is expanded under artist view is redundant and adds clutter.

- A white default background would be a nice addition too. It would match the general theme of current iOS.

- May be a landscape mode looking like iOS 8.3 or kind of like the app Wall of Sound looks would be visually inviting.

In any case it's already a very solid app with a buttery smooth scrolling (which Music app can not say) and loads of functionality.

In this beta 2 iOS 9, Apple removes almost all extensive ability to manipulate playlist on device.

I think this could be a good time to try out your app, when 2.0 becomes available.

- You're right, nice suggestion about hiding the Artist Name, I've thought about it. It's just that Artist/Genre/Composer View share same piece of code, and work same way. I'll hide the Artist name for Artist View exclusively. Thanks for the suggestion.

- I'd have added White Theme but it's bit more work as Apple doesn't allow on the fly editing of Blur view styles. And to me Dark looks better, I have tried White theme as well. The album artworks contrast really well with Dark backgrounds.

- I understand that it might look visually appealing but lacks functionality and ease of use. Hope you agree with that.

"Buttery Smooth Scrolling" Loved this part. ;) Thank you.

Marvis is going to keep improving. It's just been a month that it Launched, and I'm working single handedly, so I'm working as Hard as I can.

Is Marvis working fine on iOS 9 for you?

When I tried it in Beta 1, Marvis and all other Third party players were performing horribly.

Apple will probably resolve the issues, as it's on there side to resolve bugs in their APIs.

I am sorry but now I use stock music app more than yours. But I swear I will use more your app than stock one once the new version becomes available. Or, I can just trash stock one until the next beta. ;) . And replace it with yours.

Update: just a simple try, but I need to wait seconds to change...or I should say, app performance is not so good. I believe this is just because iOS 9 is still a beta.
You could see what was happening, but I know this is not necessary to change it for a beta.

I think it's since 2008 that i don't listen to a scattered tune but to full albums. And since an image conveys more than a thousand words i love navigating by artwork. Like when checking my physical CD collection

As for background color i think that white looks gorgeus as well (BTW lack of clutter is nice on Music app playing screen).

In any case it's your app and it's already very good. And that comes from a very demanding music consumer.

If it helps, Landscape even Supports Grid View, I just didn't upload the screenshot, let me show it to you

You are right, white looks great as well. I'm thinking about adding a White theme as well, probably soon after I add Landscape support for iPad.

Looks very nice! Will it show just album covers not showing track titles until you tap on a cover?

On thing that Music app never added to landscape was album arrangement options (by artist, by year, random). that would be an epic leap forward for visual navigation.

Now there's a hope after iOS 8.4 and iOS 9 killed landscape mode.

BTW i still keep my old iPhone 3Gs running iOS 6 and it strikes me that even after powering it off when i turn it on again it remembers the album i was on on landscape Cover Flow and on portrait lists as well. Is this very hard to achieve on iOS 8?

I run an Spanish forum dedicated to portable sound and i'm a long time member of headfi. I'll spread the word about Marvis for sure. As soon as new version rolls out i'll let people know.

Sorry, the Track list is visible all the time, and there's a reason for that, you can scroll from one album to another in the track list. You'll understand when it's in action.

Yeah you're right sorting options are great, I have already planned to add them.

iOS 9 killed Landscape Mode? I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

Remembering where you left off must not be too difficult, at least not difficult for Apple. Not much difficult for me as well. I'll work on that.

Thank you so much. Marvis really needs attention. I'm so happy you're ready to give it.

Since 2013 (with iOS 7 rollout and Music app ruining functionality) i've been giving a shot to tons of Music app and i think that yours is the only one that gets it right visually and function wise. Hence i'll be happy to spread the word. But i'd wait till next version to roll out so the product is even more powerful and rounded.

For the moment iOS 9 Music app does not feature landscape mode nor iOS 8.4 does.

As for the app icon i also have a suggestion: current icon suggests that headphones are involved in music listening but sometimes it's not the case (speaker docks, car) so it might be interesting checking the result with headphones removed and a bigger music notation. A more flashy background color might convey better the excitement that music involves.

As for landscape tracklists...removing the artist name from the tracks would declutter the view and track name would stand out quickly.

And i promise to toss in more suggestions :)

You're right about waiting for the next version. It should be available by tomorrow or day after, as it's been a week that I submitted it.

Nice suggestion for App Icon, I'll be surely improving it.

Artists Name were added, as for some albums the Artist and Album artist are not the same. I'm gonna change that and only show artist name if it's different from Album Artist.

Thanks for great suggestions, I'd love to know more.

By doing landscape (and a very good one) the app will leapfrog almost all the competition. So that will be the right time to shout out about Marvis.

Looking again to landscape mode it might work that on the left half only the album covers were displayed (with no text since i guess everybody knows artwork of their music) with no space between covers like on iOS 8.3 (It would lessen clutter and allows for bigger artwork).

And about clutter it might help to make the bottom icons displayed on request (Like on old iOS Music App).

You might have noticed that i'm against clutter cause it makes it visually harder to focus just on the music being played. You can only focus properly on very few aspects of the UI. Overwhelming designs can add to confusion (you don't know where to focus). Less things very thoughtfully crafted work best IMHO.

The spacing is between artworks is kept to keep some breathing space and make the beautiful background image visible.

I don't remember iOS 6's music player but comparing iOS 7/8's player I've added 2 more buttons in the bottom, replacing music player's textual buttons with icons.

You are right about the cluttering part, I'll surely focus on simplifying the UI.

On an iPad that approach might work better than on iPhone tiny (By comparison) screen. That's why suggested removing space allowing for bigger album art. Background image impact on an iPhone screen is really limited imo.

BTW the scrolling you have managed to achieve leads me to think than you know scrolling coding better than Apple (Its Music app stutters a lot since iOS 8).

...and i know what spurred me to suggest the removal of the artist name when an album tracklist is expanded: it allows for track name to be aligned with the number (hence improving readibiluty).

Haha, Scrolling Coding better than Apple, probably, I've had a few hiccups doing that. You know you won't see native Alphabet sections and scrolling with grid views in other apps. I made that possible.

I hope you won't mind Artist Names if it's different from Album Artist (which won't be in most cases). It's really nice handy info to have.

So Happy you liked Marvis.

Please tell me some info how it crashes. I've got a few reports but I can't reproduce it. And it's happening to people rarely. But Please any info to reproduce it will be appreciated.

Thank you
