I don't know about that, I'm pretty sure he used a Note 3 as his daily driver for an extended period of time.

If he's reviewing phones he'd better use it for an extended period of time and that has no relation to his preference.

----------

Nope - absolutely nothing to do with the review outcome. It's both the visual presentation of the reviews and his oral presentation & delivery which I find very poor.

They lack a class and finesse in execution that other reviewers are better able to deliver.

So, you're saying you don't like the way he talks. To me the in-depth review and message is more useful than the delivery.

----------

He'll find something to whine about.

If it was still 512MB you'd still be apologizing that there'd never be a need for more but welcome to reality because Apple has surpassed 1GB and is now on to 2GB. You can never have enough DRAM but it should at least be sufficient enough to deliver a positive experience without Safari constant reloading, premature background app closures, etc. and good enough for at least one or two future iOS upgrades without negative consequences.

Video is believe it or not a 'visual medium'. The presentation of the video therefore is important to me, and I find others deliver equally in-depth reviews with better skill, like Erica Griffin, MKBHD, Detroitborg, Chris Nacca, MobileGeeks etc...

I really don't understand why my personal disliking of the visual and aural style of a youtube bloggers videos is somehow such a hard thing for you to cope with that you must fabricate some ulterior reason / motive for a personal subjective preference.

It's like you are consistently on some aggressive offensive auto-defence of android or anyone who you associate as having a similar opinion on a device as yourself - and persistent attacking of anything iOS, and if truth be told your posts are getting very monotonous here.

If you like Flossy's videos - watch them, enjoy them. However I'll continue to enjoy other bloggers who I deem to produce better videos instead - regardless of content / subject they are reviewing.

So, you don't like the way Flossy talks but like the visuals of Erica. Not surprised.

No the camera isn't as good as those phones listed, but the M8 software is FAR superior to every single android phone on that list, they make concessions in software while HTC made one with their camera.

Fair enough Sense is a nice skin. But I wouldn't for one moment place Sense vs stock, iOS, or TW as more important than having a good or great camera if a device is to be labeled 'well-rounded'.

Yes the M8 is a very good device, which could have been great, save for the woeful camera. It just doesn't stack up with what they did with the rest of the device which is a real shame. They had me with the M7 and the M8 was the first phone I looked at to upgrade - until I tried the camera. It then very quickly became 6, 6+ or Note 4.

When I take pics and videos now of pretty much everything, especially my children, I'm happy to know they look just as great on a massive, hi-res screen as they do on the phone. Can't say the same for the 4mp pink tinged mediocrity that HTC throws out.

Yes Sense is nice but it can't hide the elephant in the room. I just don't think MKBHD sufficiently raised or addressed this in his recommendation.

Why? Please explain ... What ulterior motive are you fabricating this time ?

Just save your time, pop him on your ignore list and be done with it MRU. After a nonsensical debate with him earlier today, it's what I did to keep my sanity.

I know you are.........you didn't follow the context or the thread.

What context? The guy was insinuating that MKBHD had some agenda against Samsung, I was nearly showing him that its more likely the increased competition from other OEMs as the reason Samsung wasn't on the top 3 list. You seem to be looking for some ulterior motives where non existed. I probably should've just ignored your comment, oh well, lesson learned.

Don't know what they're huffy puffy about. I like Erica's visuals too but like Flossy's more in depth review.

I greatly enjoy watching many MBKHD reviews, especially those about Android (devices) OR iOS (devices), etc.; however, once he starts comparing Android & iOS it's like he's trying to stay neutral but there's bias toward Android. Not a big deal but he does sort of parrot the same arguments Android fanboys use to try to discredit iOS (devices) like essentially saying it's good for tech luddites or someone's mom who never owned a smartphone. However, I'm a technical person who develops software yadayada along with many other technical people I know who also are quite happy with iOS (devices). On the contrary, when I use my Android tablet I feel limited because there are many highly intuitive and very slick iOS features that I miss along with my design preferences. I guess we're all biased.

I'm beginning to like Lisa from MobileTechReview more than MKBHD. MKBHD is great for the quick reviews and reasonably objective insights, not to mention top-notch production quality. MobileTechReview is usually much more in depth and Lisa has the probably the best comparison video style out there.

I think MBKHD is trying to stay middle of the road a lot these days. I like Flossy and Erica as well...they all have different styles.
I heard that Flossy buys his own phones he reviews? That would make him pretty unbiased in my book.

Yes, Lisa is outstanding as well. Her reviews are a lot like DetroitBorg, very well done and very in-depth.

MBKHD's videos have a lot of polish. He's very good at video editing. However, he doesn't do as thorough a job reviewing things as much as Detroitborg and Lisa from mobiletechreview,as the above posters have stated. It's probably because he is so busy.

I guess it makes sense that the less skinned the OS is, the less you lose from replacing it with Stock Android (and thus the more incentive to go through with it). Hence the preference for a Google-Play edition of the HTC One, where you still get that great build quality. :)

Just watched the first 15 seconds of one of Flossy Carter's phone reviews. Shut it off. That is not how I would like to hear a review of a phone. MBKHD does it as it should be done. Proper English, clean presentation, crisp camera work, and nothing over the top.
