But the iphone was release first in the US on June 29th and if the camera MP was such a problem then why did you buy an iphone?
Wow people need to stop posting about switching from the iphone and just do it like i did, and wasted 45 dollars that google took from me cause i took the nexus one back because it's not polished off like the iphone and needs a lot of work. The nexus one phone doesn't have any good apps and there mostly made for other devices with smaller screen and doesn't fit right, and you think apple would let that happen? If you want the best out there with quality and connivence then iphone is for you but if you want complex os with widgets that don't update for a certain amount of time when i could just go into the app and look it then go with the nexus one. But what ever you do, just go do it quietly and regret is quietly please.
Edit: One more thing if you want an android phone then don't buy it from at&t but buy it unlocked which will cost you $530. If you buy it from at&t then the os will be version 1.5 or 1.6, if you get the unlocked version then you will always have the latest which is 2.1. Just some research is did before i bought the nexus one that i wasn't impressed with but the screen was awesome looking but not responsive.

agreed and i sell nothing but apple products....so yes at first a fan boy but now they are def lagging behind...
n95 was out in 2005 I think... NAM version(American 3g) was sold in the US before Iphone 1g... and guess what it had a 5mp camera/30fps video and multitasking! One of the best selling smartphones ever pre-iphone era
I guess apple is laging behind. I mean selling 500,000 or so ipads and millions of iphones and have the 2nd highest smartphone markershare is lagging
Wow guess apple may get delisted from the stockmarket since they are lagging. Get over yourself. Just because the phone doesnt have features you want doesnt mean they are lagging. Once again 2 Types of consumers GEEKS and Average consumer. As long as average consumers keep buying who are not whoring themselves out over mind numbing specs then they are doing fine

And it was sold on the grey market. So tell me what US Carrier sold a 5MP camera? Because it wasn't cingular,wasnt sprint, and wasnt verizon.
But you know if you are so unhappy with the camera on the iphone buy an SLR or another phone. But one thing your not going to do is change my opnion or anyone elses of the iphone. It's a great device it has some shortcomings but then again what device doesn't? I Personally don't buy phones based on camera resolution. But if you do then that's great. But if you always want the latest and greatest or always comparing specs on products you will never enjoy anything
It's not so much that looking at the same thing makes me angry. It's what other company's are doing in terms of passing the iPhone, which they have. Android kills iPhone in customization, home screen looks, notifications, etc. I was hoping for something more from Apple with this event. It's just a letdown. I'm on a family plan with my mother so I can't switch carriers every year when a new phone comes out. She pays for my bill, I'm only 18. I would get the milestone if it wasn't $600. Idk maybe verizon is cheaper than AT&T and I can convince her to switch. You can't say your not happy with this announcement. They did nothing but add a cheesy looking multitask function, a gamecenter (who cares) and wait for it, we now have apple approved ad's!

Thats your opnion that it is inferior but the average consumer doesnt care. If they did then the iphone would not have the share it has and the place in history that it has.

No but you're still comparing a 1+ year old phone with ones that were just released 1-5 months ago.

dont get me wrong i love apple thats all i have at home but they are def lagging in the feature dept on the iphone.
Just because a carrier didn't subsidise a phone does not mean it wasn't available in the US. If the N95 was available in the US before the iPhone - sim-free or not - then the iPhone obviously had some shortcomings that weren't present in the competition.
I'm not saying that I dislike the iPhone - in fact, the 4.0 event has just persuaded me to buy one this summer instead of a HTC Desire - but there is no denying that Apple has been and continue to be a bit behind when it comes to adding features.
Is it too much to ask for the ability to change and customize the sounds for IM's and email? The default sounds are trite and annoying as hell.

Totally. I mean they only sold, what, 85 million iPhones and iPod Touches? And have only 65% of the mobile browsing market?

The main issue here is the fact that every other company comes out with 1 good thing for their phone... Palm had the multitasking card style, HTC has the streming video and amazing hardware and smooth UI with a lot of developers.
Everyone wants them to put it in to the Iphone... Unfortunately thats not going to happen, I REALLY think apple should have integrated Themes into the appstore it would make a lot of people who are bored with the Iphone happy.
Finally watching this keynote makes me want to puke, they are trying to make it seem like everything they do is better than anyone else doing it, when in reality the Jailbroken iphone is the best thing to happen to the Iphone and they just arn't listening to the people using them.
Lets not forget that only 7 out 100 new features were announced today. Also lets not forget that it is only available for developers at this time, in its beta stages. There's still time to change the UI, and if they don't change it now, 4.1 is a good chance it will change. Plus if you are moving onto a different phone, you wont have access to over 185,000 apps on the App Store now will you? If you go and get a droid, as much as you think developers can try to make it like the iPhone, it will never, ever, be able to use data and talk at the same time while your not near a Wi-Fi network.
I disagree... I have a jailbroken iPhone, like it I do, however I'm interested to se Apple's version of mulitasking and then I'll judge which on is better. So far I'm not overly rimpressed with backgrounder.

Who do you think will get HTC when Apple don't change things as UI? The AVERAGE CONSUMER! What keeps the GEEKS are jailbreaking-options and the AppStore. But believe me: Average consumers are the ones that will change platform easiest. Geeks are much more bound to the brand.
