... you *do* realize that iChat is just an AIM client, right? You can chat with any Windows users who use the countless AIM clients out there, right? And you do realize you can chat with audio/video with Windows users over AIM, right?

... right?

As it may be but AIM is close to not used outside of the US.

Well, we're in the middle of May. Hopefully we will hear something soon. I wish the Microsoft guy would post an update. We may have scared him away. I regret being so ugly about the beta client :(

Im not pro-Adium. I gave it a try several times, I never liked it. It looks like it's made in someone's basement, and it will never look polished, even though it has a thousand themes. MSN for mac simply sucks. I don't understand why Microsoft team is not trying harder. Or, alternatively, just give up and give Apple the material so we can use MSN video chat on iChat.

It's not just a AIM client, works very well with Jabber as well, which is what I use it for (don't have a AIM account, pretty much noone has outside the US)

I really wish they'd do as they've done on WMV, meaning drop your own development and let someone else, like Apple, include it into iChat.

Yep.... please somebody post when a new release is ready.
Meanwhile still using the Beta, but prefer Adium.

Does anyone knows if the previous version of MSN still works? (Simple chat and retains the avatar?) I won't use it for vouice chat.

Regards

A guy working at Microsoft on the mac team was posting here giving updates, but I think he left because too many people were bashing the beta. Hopefully, they learned their lesson and are working on this a little more. God, why can't the largest software company in the world give us regular updates to a puny messenger client?

Previous MSN works fine and is still downloadable. I'd wish they would hurry up and make the new one actually usable.

You'd think they have enough resources on their hands to work on a simple messenger client. Yet I've noticed all their attention lately has been going into the latest version of Office. Do they have any multiple teams over there?!?
